What a wonderful experience! Lovely wine farm with lots to offer. Great experience from the time you enter. Lovely gardens, views, trails, restaurantsand wine tastings. You are exposed first hand to the history behind the farm.
Excellent wine and a nice bistro to grab lunch at. The DNA(Cab Franc) is my favorite. The gardens are amazing so se aside a hour to explore them.
One of the oldest wine estates with an established landscape, 300 year old trees buildings, buildings and a history to tell! We have to rewrite our history...I was there on business and managed a walk around the historic gardens...with a few layers of contemporary landscaping, an amazing sunflower garden with the mountains as a backdrop. Two restaurants on site but did not have time to experience them...maybe next time!

Nothing short of amazing. No doubt one of the best Wine Farms in the country. Steeped in history, Vergelegen gardens and historical monuments are extremely well cared for. Tours are available and picnics in the gardens are a real treat(be sure to book). Wine tasting is also very reasonably priced and wines on offer are top notch. The restaurant is well run, service is good and prices are decent. Will definitely be back.

The gardens are very beautiful and neat. There are different types of gardens with benches were one can sit and absorb the tranquility. The staff are very well trained, helpful and very friendly. The library has books dating back a few centuries. The entrance fee is exceptionally cheap. The restaurant is very nice. Tables are sanitized between customers and are far apart.
Outstanding wine estate. Lovely gardens , outdoor space for all. Good walking trails, interesting history architecture. Restaurants reasonably priced and offer a wide range of foods catering for diversity and tastes. Needless to say wine tasting and wines exceptional. This is a wine farm you don t want to miss visiting and give yourself time to enjoy its unique beauty.
Went for the picnic experience at Vergelegen and it did not disappoint. The beautiful gardens are a must see and having a picnic lunch in between the trees was stunning. The food was delicious and quite plentiful. By the time we were done...we felt stuffed. It was a little hot and humid, but that's summer for you. Would be a great experience for Birthday parties. I highly recommend this place. Thanks for the great day.
Absolutely lovely. Quiet. Lovely walking paths and loads of history. Only ate at The Stables but was certainly 5 stars. The addition of sunflowers and the views from the restaurant are breathtaking
