VCU Massey Cancer Center Review

Well I love all my doctors here . But the hematology department doctor I had was nothing short then putting my life and quality of last . I did the grievance thing there then was later cornered by that doctor and his nurse and basically back mailed in to signing a gag order ! that doc thretend me that he even had talk with his colleagues so I'd get know were there . Even thow my hemoglobin is bouncing between 11 and 10 . The Mayo clinic that I called in Florida agrees with me that not OK with what they're doing they were even willing to take my case if I had the right insurance which on working on thank God UVA looked at my case and is taking it . I as well did grievance prosess when had one other issue and let me tell you there urology department quickly turned that experience around and quickly and efficiently found my problem and hearing me out giving me choices for cure not bandaid to milk ins... FOR MONEY ! Love this . I want eqil rights rather I'm pore or rather I have good money or organs to give .. I feel so cheated what ever that nurse and doctor excuse is.. I had to fire there department to day before he causes me to need life saving blood again knowing are blood banks are so low and it cost ins. So much more and puts my life in danger . Shame on them at vcu hematology center!!

DR. FIELDS STAFF, besides medical student Alex, is INCOMPETENT AND RUDE!! I hate that my dad has to deal with such unsmart people and not helpful OR friendly AT ALL!! DO BETTER! I give that office 0 STARS!

Everyone is very caring, friendly, helpful and nice. This is a great cancer treatment clinic. Everyone from the doctors, research staff, nurses, care partners, office staff and the environmental services staff are great caring people. If need an oncologist, chemo or radiation, this is the place to go.

When you are faced with a disease such as cancer. You expected the medical service to be compassionate, reliable and resourceful. I am very disappointed that I did NOT receive this service. My family member was schedule for a 6am biopsy so we arrived on time only to hear it was canceled. The worst part is I called on Friday to confirm my early Monday morning appointment. I did NOT get a curiosity call back. The customer service is poor. My concern is my family members health. Cancer is a vicious and aggressive disease that needs immediate attention. Unfortunately I m not getting this service from here. So now we are off to find another facility to service us. Time wasted and the sad part is it s life threatening to my love one.

VALET PARKING IS A MUST (and free)! If you are there for an appointment just get the checkin desk to validate for FREE otherwise it is very expensive but, you have to ask. Everyone there is very friendly and they see you very quickly. If you are there for treatment BE SURE TO WEAR A MASK. The waiting room is small and usually crowded. The doctors of course, are outstanding!!!

Staff treats patients like a number instead of a human going through a tramatic experience
The staff left my fiancee 2 hours unattended just to realize he was not even receiving his treatment through his iv because the attending nurse failed to remove the clip that comes on the bag
When my fiancee has labs his appointment is at 9 am or 10 am and has to wait untill he has a chair available after 1230 pm
On days he don't have lab either the pharmacy takes forever to fill the order for his chemo or the nurses take forever to hook him up to or even place the order for the chemo
Then it takes them another 20 to 30 mins to flush the line so days he has labs he sits for 7 hours or more if they forget about him longer than that
Very disappointed that such a large facility could be so incompetent
Shame on y'all

Really like all of my doctors and the nurses put up with me and my sense of humor.

Don t come to VCU unless you feel like waiting a year and a half at your appointments have been coming here for 5 years and never had an appointment on time always a long wait even ER you gotta wait
