Valencia Pediatric Associates Review

We have been taking our 3 kids here for 4 years. Their protocols for scheduling and paperwork have gotten less and less customer friendly. Today was the last straw. We were late due to our son's school spending entirely too much time to find his teacher/class. (they paged the teacher, called him on cell and in his class.) I understand the doctor not being able to see us but we have been loyal and prompt patients for 4 years. he decided to go ahead and charge us for the missed appointment and told me to reschedule, not even one reprieve for being long time, prompt clients for a situation out of our control? We would have been going there an additional 11 years throughout our kids childhoods. I hope the $40 is worth it.

Turned Away...

After more than 10 years of bringing our children to Valencia Pediatrics, we were shown the door because the COBRA policy didn't reflect our coverage status properly. Our son needed to be seen for his spiking asthma condition due to all of the pollen aggravating his allergies. When my wife asked to pay the co-pay amount and to bill us for the balance to allow enough time for the insurance issue to get resolved, she was told NO!

Difficult to believe after all of these years. We will be looking for another pediatric group that has a heart and values that align better with ours.

I called as a new patient for my son and they were fine about setting the appointment until she told me they require to have a credit card on file and then transferred me to the billing department. I asked questions such as "Do you check with people before charging their card?" And she said sometimes they don't. I asked, "What if people can't pay their rent because you just went and charged their card for a fee they didn't know they would have." She just sort of laughed and said "No, we don't do that." But that just contradicted what she had said. So I hesitantly made the appointment and then went looking online at the reviews. Several people on the other reviews said their card had been charged for things they had no idea they were going to be charged for and that this office is extremely dishonest. Why are they the ONLY Pediatric office I've EVER HEARD OF that has this policy? Leaves people open to be taken advantage of and looks really bad for this office. Once I saw these reviews, I called and cancelled my son's appointment. I'm disappointed because I hear the docs here are really good.

Every pediatrician there is spunky and fun. There s a doctor for all kinds of kiddos personalities. My kiddos enjoy coming even if they re sick because they know the doctor is gentle and very helpful. The office is clean and they re super quick to call back if you ve left a message.

I went today because my son had pink eye. I was originally going to take them to urgent care but I Check the hours and it said they closed at 5:30 PM today so I said perfect I will take them here. I walked in and the receptionist asked me if I had an appointment. I am formed her I didn t I was a walk-in and the reason for my visit was my son I look like pinkeye. She asked for his date of birth and name and then informed me that they had no appointments for today and if I wanted to stay I could but it would be a two hour wait. She then asked if I wanted to stay, I said no not if it s a two hour wait I ll just go to urgent care. As I was driving to urgent care I get an email that they made my sons appointment for 4:15. I will be calling tomorrow to make sure they don t charge my card for a missed appointment since I was told it was a two hour wait.

The Dr s are great here but we decided to move our children to another Pediatrician. The wait to be seen has gotten longer and longer over the years . I do not think it is reasonable to wait for 45 -60 minutes to see your Dr . I understand waiting a few minutes but every time to wait this long is just unacceptable. After 14 years of coming here we found another Dr and happy we did.

We love Val Peds! When we first moved to SCV four years ago we went to two other pediatric offices before finally finding Val Peds. We love Dr. Brian, Dr. Stern, and Dr. Brockett. All the doctors genuinely care for my kids and always seem to make us laugh, even if we're not feeling good!

We moved to SCV from the east coast and choosing a pediatrician in an unfamiliar town where we knew virtually no one was hard. Some of the negative reviews I read on here made me weary, but after visiting another practice that was not for us, we chose to give Valencia Pediatrics a try- and I'm SO glad I did.

Today we brought our 6 yr old to Valencia Pediatrics for the first time to check the healing of a head wound with staples that we were concerned about. All of the nurses and doctors we met were AMAZING with our son- who started out very nervous about letting them near the wound.

Dr. Brockett was gentle, patient, very easy to talk to and took her time assessing the situation and speaking with us before deciding the best treatment for the wound. I am so very thankful we saw her and for the care we received from the staff.

I can confidently say we've found our pediatrician!

They are great Doctors! 100% trust them with my children. When anything goes wrong with my children at after hours, they quickly call back.

Had an appointment for my daughters 3 month shots, was called the day before appt and told ran out of immunizations. They rescheduled a FULL month out. Received call again 3 days prior to appts and was told same story again! Now i have to wait another month! She'll be 6 mos by the new date.

Thank you Scott Kern for the review. I am looking for a new doctor for my son and I was ready to call Valencia Pediatrics and make an appointment. When I read your review I quickly changed my mind. If they can't be bothered billing you after ten years of building a relationship, then I can't be bothered. Thanks

great doctors and staff. Don t believe all the negative reviews. I would suggest trying them out for yourself and bring your own conclusions. A lot of these reviews sound like disgruntled one offs.
