We signed my 5 year old up for summer camp because of their "commitment to inclusiveness" and they kicked her out half way through the first day due to a disability and still kept our tuition payment. Parents of special needs children beware. 0/10 - do not recommend

The YMCA is an outstanding value. The long list of amenities and features includes several pools (heated and kiddie), basketball & racquetball courts, saunas & hot tubs, daycare and after school programs, separate rooms for upper and lower body as well as several cardio rooms. They are constantly updating and improving the facility and adding new classes too. Everything a family could want for health and recreation under one roof. I have been a member for over 15 years and can honestly say some of the best people I have met have either been members or staff from the Y . One of my best investments has been the time I have put into the Y.

Air conditioning is optional at this location because it never works and management doesn't seem to even care(no big deal, its just 85 degrees inside). If racquetball or basketball are not a requirement I would use another gym 10 out of 10 times. If LA Fitness ever comes to Valdosta this gym will loose half its members immediately.

My child goes to Prime time after school program at Hahira Elementary. Last week I had my boyfriend pick her up as I was running late at work. He was not asked for an ID or even greeted or spoke to in regards to who he was picking up, strike ONE. My child then leaves with him and proceeded to tell him about her falling and hitting her face and head. My child had a goose egg the size of an orange on the back of her head and a giant bruise on her cheek. Nobody called, no incident report was filed AND nobody mentioned anything when she was picked up from school. They gave her an ice pack and told her to put her head down. She will NOT be attending prime time ever again.

The facilities are very dated and worn. The ladies gym never has a full set of working equipment, half the time it doesn t even have paper towels to clean the machines. Very disappointed with the overall atmosphere especially for the price of membership.

The Y is immaculate
They have been working the whole time it was closed
Great job
Some machines have been stored to make proper distances but overall it's excellent

This is the first YMCA out of 13 states we visited on our mission trip that had our Ministry shower outside in the cold. I told them my wife just got out of an emergency surgery and we aleays use the YMCA to shower. My babies said why are they making us shower outside and I said because they have to do what their boss tells them to do.

Certainly an older Y but as an out of town visitor at $10/visit, I felt it was good value for money. There was only a single Concept2 rowing machine but it was actually in great condition (kudos to whoever maintains it) and I used the free weights also. The steam room was good but there was some major work happening on my second visit so I couldn't use it again. Overall, recommended. Note that visitors need to use the main entrance (smaller sign!) rather than the quick access parking at the back (larger sign!) which requires a card to get in.

Basketball court is like concrete. So if you got poopy knees or have a knack for falling be very careful. They got racquetball, workout stuff, zoomba, moomba, lots of stuff. Good place. I go there on my way to ATL from FL.

I go everyday. They have a wide variety of workout machines that workout abs, arms, chest, glutes, shoulders, back, thighs, and calves. They offer swimming, kickboxing, yoga, and even a bootcamp class. There are areas for you to take your children while you work out

my Y! Great aerobics program, I always get a fun, challenging workout in whether it's in class or on the floor! The front desk staff is friendly & knowledgeable when I have questions or need assistance, and the nursery's absolutely on it with my kiddos We have also had swim lessons recently with Ms. Randy, she's been so great with my 4yr old son & I plan on her taking my 1yr old on when she's ready. Just an all-around great gym!

I have been to many YMCA's and the one in Valdosta is by far my favorite. The employees are so friendly and welcoming. Everything is so clean and they have a ton of sanitizing stations. The Fitness department has a huge variety of strength training and Cardio equipment. They have complimentary towels which is definitely a plus! My favorite room is the women's center, where I can workout, go to the steam room, sauna or whirlpool and finish with a nice shower. I also love the variety of the group- X classes. The opportunities here are endless. I always recommend it to friends and family passing through.

The YMCA is the best value in gyms especially for the whole family. Cardio equipment, aerobics classes, a full sized basketball court and swimming pools. Ship the small gyms and get the complete package. Add a bonus, the nursery is complementary with a family plan!

So NOT HAPPY on limited pool hours for the fall. We joined specifically to use the pool never being told of limited hours in the fall. (we just joined 2 weeks ago) the excuse is limited life guards but every y we have used in the last year (we are on the road full time so it has been multiple ones) we have never had this problem. Pools have always been open as long as the y itself is open. NOT happy to say the least since this is the main purpose of joining.

Great facility with an extremely friendly staff. The gym has separate free weight rooms, a cardio room, basketball gym, racquetball courts, several pools, group fitness classes and locker rooms that include steam rooms and saunas. I personally only use the free weights, cardio and locker rooms, all of which stay clean and accessible. I have noticed that it can get busy around 5-6pm but that's no big deal, I just adjusted my routine to go a little later. Overall it's an excellent gym for an individual or family.

very unorganized establishment. worked here during the summer for two weeks and it was the longest two weeks of my life. there are no ORGANIZED activities for the children at all, the other employees who had been there longer seemed to have no idea on what to do or how to keep the kids under control. it s was just a complete disaster. I don t have any kids but I do have nieces, nephews, god-kids, etc and would not send any of them to this place; I would rather quit my job and stay home with them than sending them here.

Went to drop off my application and talked to one of the female lifeguards. She was extremely rude and had attitude because I didn t know where to drop it off. When I first arrived nobody was at the front so I ended up by the fitness center and she gave me attitude for being over there. I m sorry but just because you re a lifeguard that doesn t make you any better. But other than her, everybody else was extremely friendly!

The facility is great with a variety of services. However if you are an adult and are in search of a program that teach adult swimming I do not recommend. Granted they may have excellent qualified lifeguards does not qualify one to be a qualified instructor. The program for children may be great, however adults comes with a variety of reasons for not having learned to swim at an early age. The instructor should know how to cater his/her instruction around the individual needs to help them. Though Atlanta is a few hours away, I will be scheduling weekend lessons with a qualified adult swimming center who specialize training adults. It will be worth the time and money to get proper training.

Do Not send your child to the YMCA! Horrible experience. Staff is very disrespectful and do not care about your child! My child picked up curse words from a staff member in Prime Time in the after school program and was told it was an accident. If you care about your child and the environment they are in this is not the place to drop them off or allow to watch your child and have a peace of mind. Never will I have anything to do with the YMCA again!

The people at this facility do NOT communicate with one another. And if you're looking into doing a birthday party the information on their website is not all correct. It says you pay half up front upon booking, that is FALSE they expect the full payment. Also says you get invitations and balloons? We did not get any of that. They do 2 different times for the water works pool party. One is 3 the other is 6. The 3 slot was taken (cause I had to go get more money because they needed the full amount NOT half) so we moved to the 6 o clock slot. When we showed up the girl at the front desk looked at us like we were crazy and asked if we were sure it was at 6??? And apparently she gave every single one of our guests the same look. You pay for 2 hrs, so at 8 when we were done and leaving all the employees were gone. Me and all our guests had to squeeze out through this old gate that didn't open all the way (the lifeguard showed us out) you're squeezing up against an old shed with nails sticking out of it!!! Then 2 other guests left before the lifeguard told us where to go and they got locked in the lobby cause everyone left already! I was under the impression someone would be there to help carry our decorations and stuff out to the car?

The lifeguard on staff was GREAT! Very friendly. And my daughter had a lot of fun.

This place is great for the kids, but from a parent's point of view I do not feel like it was worth $160.

This is the most poorly run YMCA I've ever seen .I don't even know where to begin... Should I tell you a story of a parking lot with low hanging tree branches that scratch the top of your car that I brought to attention of the staff and even filled out some sort of maintenance request just to find nothing had been done about it six months later. Or describe a dingy smelly nursery with ever broken bell and door, unfinished kids bathroom with a sink height up to an average adults chin, no hot water only cold for kids to wash hands after using bathroom, out of order AC in Georgia heat, renovations unfinished for months with workers laying new flooring ON TOP of OLD CARPET!!! You don't need to be a construction worker to know this is just wrong. You can imagine what condition a carpet in an old nursery can possibly be!
The gyms have nice treadmills with large screens that offer an option to watch TV while working out, but not here. They simply are not connected. Sauna, hot tub and jacuzzi work so inconsistent and are out of order more often than in. We've been YMCA members in Missouri for years and were so excited we could still enjoy our membership here in Valdosta, but what a disappointment...
