Dr. Kreger was awesome, friendly, personable, knowledgeable, professional, and efficient for Botox. Her last treatment lasted 7months when it is supposed to last 3-4months!! I highly recommend her for Botox!

Would not recommend. After going corporate it seems they ve lost their customer service skills. After my appointment I waited around 15 minutes to pay and she asked if it d be alright if she called me later to pay over the phone. I left and didn t hear anything from them for six-seven months until they call and leave me a message threatening to send me to collections! I updated all my info with the lady at the front desk before my appointment. They claimed they called me multiple times and sent statements none of which I received AT ALL. I don t have any issue paying for a service that s been provided to me and do NOT appreciate being accused of ditching out on payment and threatened with collections!
This is a top notch and highly professional dermatology practice. I have seen Dr. Blankenship numerous times and she is always thoughtful, caring, and remembers my history without prompting. I truly feel as if she has my best interest at heart at all times. I am an ex-RN and have seen and worked with many physicians, and I would rank her right at the top. In addition, all of the support staff was friendly and respectful.
Dr. Nern is great but the support team/billing is not- I can't tell you how many times I've called to make a payment and left a message that was never answered, or had someone pick up to tell me the system was down and they couldn't accept one (actually that only happened once), but still). There was a billing mistake on my most recent procedure that took forever for them to straighten out and they still never called me back to let me know it had been fixed, just sent another bill while I caked and called asking what was going on. For the love of god, get with the times and offer online bill payment. This is a wealthy area of CO, I can't believe they haven't gotten it together in this regard. It's really inconvenient and tbh is the reason I won't go back, even though Dr. Nern is nice and good at what she does.
A truly outstanding dermatology team. Vail Dermatology literally has everything you could want in both medical and cosmetic dermatology. First-rate. Highly recommend.
So easy to schedule an appointment online, this is how it should work everywhere. Got a skin cancer screening within a week of reaching out and the appointment was quick and easy.
Dr. Blankenship has an excellent physician presence. Very pleasant to deal with, and very knowledgeable. She was highly professional, answered my questions, and dealt promptly with any issues she encountered.
I am so happy to have found Vail Dermatology. Everyone there is very professional and friendly. All of the services I have received have been beyond expectations. I live out of state, but hope to make this my permanent dermatology source.
Dr. Blankenship is very knowledgeable with the treatment I needed. She has very good bedside manners and made me feel at ease in spite of my fear of needles. It was very fortunate that she had availability for an immediate appointment. The check in process was quick and easy.
Dr Blankenship is so caring and knowledgeable. She takes the time to explain things in detail in non- medical terms that anyone can understand. I highly recommend her!
I was very happy with Dr Blankenship and the staff at Vail Dermatology. I was able to make an appointment in a timely manner. I needed a check on a Basel cell which had been biopsied earlier and was being treated with a cream
I have been to Vail Dermatology for both medical and cosmetic procedures. The service is excellent. The staff are friendly, and very helpful. Dr. Nern is experienced, knowledgable, and friendly. The offices are lovely as well.
Should be 0 stars but 1 is the lowest. My wife saw Claire Mann, at the Edwards Riverwalk Colorado location.
They took a skin sample for my wife and sent it to an out of network lab. We now owe over $1,000 for this lab test because this company sent it to an out of network location.
We have absolutely no control on where they send their samples so this is a mistake made by Vail dermatology. Their mistake is costing us so much money and there is nothing we can do about it because we get billed weeks after they sent the sample and at that point the test is done.
My advice would be to not even mess with this location unless you are happy to burn your money because they don't take the few minutes to ensure your lab work stays in network. They have your insurance and they can check these things, but they don't.
Also this seems like a strange amount of reviews for a mountain town dermatologist. I would check out their yelp page for a better scoop
I so appreciate the staff at the Edwards location. They are knowledgeable and so helpful. Dr Kreger is wonderful. She takes time with her patients and is very engaging and genuine.
Very fortunate to have this comprehensive dermatological practice and its superbly qualified staff in our region of Colorado. A special shout out to Dr. Nern!
I saw Dr. Blankenship in December for a full body exam, and she was very thorough in her examination. We talked about the pros and cons of removal and biopsy of a small "questionable" area near my lip, versus waiting and watching. I opted for removal and biopsy, which was a good choice, as it came back "basal cell carcinoma". Dr. Nern did Mohs surgery two days ago, and I am now healing from that procedure. Both doctors are very personable, and I trust them. When I see how my scar heals (in about three weeks), I will have a better idea of just how good Dr. Nern is at her craft! I would advise future patients to be very clear and ask for confirmation about everything with the staff you speak with on the phone. There were a couple of glitches for me, which left me wondering how organized it is "behind the scenes". The staff member who schedules surgeries told me she would have a prescription called in to my local pharmacy (a few days prior to surgery). When I arrived to the pharmacy to pick up my medication, it had never been called in. When I called the office, I was told I had to come to the office to pick up the written prescription order. I wish that staff member had told me this originally, as I live a half hour away from the office. Then, when I arrived for my Mohs surgery, I was told that I wasn't on the schedule but they could get me in about four hours later. I explained that I was not happy with that at all, and that they needed to make this right; I wasn't leaving and coming back in four hours. Thanks to Dr. Nern, they were able to get me in for surgery within a half hour of my scheduled time, and all went well after that. So, the medical practice is really good, but be sure to check and double-check regarding information and appointment time.
I had a squamous cell cancer on my lip, it was due for excision in 10 days, I was concerned that it was growing and drove over to see Dr Karen Nern. She immediately reviewed it and operated on it within 30 minutes. Dr Nern and her staff are simply amazing, very professional and do indeed truly care about their patients. I would advise any of my friends and family to see Dr Nern for any skin issues or care. She is my hero and a very special doc.
Everything was clean and arranged to allow for social distancing. I LOVE Dr. Blankenship. After years of skin issues and many visits to a variety of dermatologists she has helped me get clear skin!
Everything went smooth, I waited for less than 5 minutes and everyone was polite and explained everything along the way as well as provided a check up call.
Would not recommend, my experience was flawed on numerous levels: 1) I was misdiagnosed numerous times 2) the biopsy they performed on me was botched and scarred badly 3) they failed to call me with my biopsy results until 9 days after they received it and meant I needed to course correct the cumbersome treatment plan I was on 4) they ignored my predisposition to certain infections and gave me the wrong antibiotics, making my infection worse leading to more scarring 5) on top of all of that they charged me 5 times more (after insurance) than the next, better dermatologist I saw 6) they stuck me with a nurse instead of the doctor and never made that clear.
*Buyer Beware* - Absolute rip-off is an understatement. I was charged $1290 for a single visit that lasted less than 10 minutes at their Aspen office on Spring Street. Hard-working locals even with good health insurance watch out! If I was the doc scamming peoples money like this, I wouldn t be able to sleep at night. Unless money is no object for you & you don t mind undisclosed, shady business/billing practices, AVOID THIS PLACE.
After the shocking bill for $1290 arrived, the billing gal who was helpful & understanding of my dismay applied a 20% discount to the portion denied by my insurance provider so... *I only ended up paying $942 for my less than 10-minute visit.*
As an Aspen resident for 25 years, I will actively share my experience w/family, friends & review readers in hopes of helping others avoid getting ripped off like I did.
**I got 9 diagnoses in less than 10 minutes.** Maybe the ridiculously high number of diagnoses is how I got the Level 3 office visit price of $215? The way they run their business may be expedient in the short-term, and maybe since a lot of ppl in the area have a lot of money it will work in the long run, but even if I had unlimited amounts of money I would GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, as they are NOT TRUSTWORTHY. The doc casually & reprehensibly UP-SELLED the heck out of me with no mention of actual costs involved, i.e. unnecessary biop$ies? CHA-CHING!! The doc was not even competent when it came to addressing my primary concern more details below.***
When I called and found out they took my insurance, I booked an appt to have a persistent wart on my finger treated. At the appointment the doctor looked at my finger for literally 1-2 seconds and said, You don t have a wart, it s already gone. (No it s not, more below.)***
Since I was there, I had her take a mole off my back that kept getting tugged while dressing. When she said, Do you want that biop$ied? , I thought sure, why not. I also asked her to look at a small pindot-sized bump on the top of my foot b/c my primary doc said there s a chance it could be skin cancer. The dermo said, It does not look like skin cancer; I can remove it. Want it biop$ied? Just to be certain, I figured, sure, why not?
Q: WHY NOT?
A: BECAUSE IT WILL COST YOU NEARLY $700 TO DO SO.
There was *zero professionally responsible advice from the doctor* as one would expect such as, No real red flags here, so biopsies are unnecessary, especially since it could cost several hundred dollars and your insurance may or may not cover any of it. OR, This looks suspicious, so despite the cost potentially up to nearly $1000 you should get biopsies. Instead of receiving proper professional guidance, I was taken for every penny. Slicing off the mole and the pindot-sized bump (which turned out to be scar tissue) took less than 3 minutes for both. Cost = $375, PLUS the lab cost for the biopsies = $490. My insurance kicked in $187 toward the labs so I paid $302 for them.
*TOTAL out-of-pocket expense for 2 unnecessary removals & biopsies = $677. OUCH! Would have hurt less to have my boyfriend slice them off with a rusty razor blade.*
The doc took 1-2 minutes to freeze a plantar wart on a toe that I would have happily treated myself for $10 or less if I was fairly informed that I was going to be charged $235 to have her do it.
The doc looked over my body in 2 minutes & said I don t have skin cancer. Thank God for that, although she also said I don t have a wart on my finger, which I still do, so who knows how competent & credible any of it is...
***After paying the bill of $942 for a single visit (did I mention it was less than 10 minutes?...) I m still left to deal with the wart on my finger - which was the reason for my visit in the first place.
Seriously unprofessional. My appointment lasted 15 minutes. The doctor took a skin sample and told me she would have results in 6days, The docitor upon viewing my skin said she had "never seen anything like that" and then left me in the dark for TWO WEEKS?! she then left the room. I had to walk after her into another part of the clinic to have some questions answered about my concerns and possible causes. She brushed me off and said to follow the prescription. Fast forward to 2 WEEKS, after I have been charged $600 and have still received no updates or a possible prognosis for something they "have never see before", someone from the office calls me and says "it's exima" and to come back in another two weeks. No word from the doctor. No help. No thanks. I will not be back in two more weeks. Anyone know of an actual dermatologist in the area?
I was able to get a needed exam and procedure quickly and efficiently. The waiting area was carefully arranged for social distancing and all protocols appear to have been followed.
Great experience as always. The office was nicely set up for social distancing. My appointment was on time, thorough and quick and the team is always very friendly and professional!!!
We had such a great experience with Dr. Blankenship. She was so warm and personable with my daughter and really listened to us. We highly recommend her!!
Very professional in every way. Dr Nern and her staff were both personable and attentive to all details of my treatment. I would highly recommend Vail Dermatology
On vacation in the area, needed to see a dermatologist quickly. Staff was so kind on the phone & got me in the next day. Dr. Blankenship was great. If we lived in this area we d be regulars! Highly recommend.
