Food arrived almost cold. The lighting was too dark - couldn't see the menu. Disappointed compared to previous visits.

Frankly speaking this restaurant has very nice food and great service, but as an employee the way they treat us is appalling. I don t get any Superannuation, they don t pay my tax or any entitlements. The worst part is not allowing staff to take sick leave, and forcing me to attend work while I m sick. I M A HUMAN NOT A ROBOT. To be honest, how is a sick person going serve customers!! REALLY, COME ON! I can t allow this to happen so I quit my job. I went back to the restaurant to get my salary and she withholds all my tips, and says, I m pissed off with you so you re not getting your tips . I am so disappointed to have worked in this restaurant. Eat there if you must, but just remember the exploited employees that are being taken advantage of.

My duck three way was delicious. Everyone happy with their meals. Great service too.

Went there as a group and they met our expectations.

If I could rate 0.2 star, I would have done so!! Very poor customer service & rude staff, we were told we need to wait quite a long time for our coffees; this is while we were rushed to order our drinks as soon as we sat down without being given a menu !! Not recommending this place to anyone especially if you're taking a friend or guest out!

Staff were outrageously rude, food is over priced for the quality you receive, very loud restaurant really hard to hear the person next to you. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!! Horrible!!!

The food was really good. We found the style of waitering slightly intrusive and we were served by 3 different waitering staff in the 2 hours we were there.

Excellent service! When ever we go, we feel like we're part of the family. Definitely one of our favourite restaurants in Melbourne. Highly recommend.

TERRIBLE SERVICE, RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF and some particular waitress, average and overpriced food, super noisy atmosphere. I had a Christmas dinner with my family of three, ordered some entrees main meals, deserts, and first questions after ordering we got (listening we speak with accent) "Where you from guys?" "Are you visiting Australia?" "How long are you going to stay here?" "What is you background??" Asking these questions It wasn't just dull curiosity it was disdain of staff. We've been living and working in Melbourne for 5 years and never have been asked how long we going to stay here, it sounded so unwelcome.These kind of questions should NOT be asked at all, especially from people who service you. It's simply none of your business where are we from and etc. It is simply dull unprofessionalism of staff and displays bad reputation of the restaurant. Personally, my Christmas mood was ruined. We won't coming back for sure.

The food is mostly good, but after being invited here once a year for the last 10 years, the menu items haven't had much of a significant change up. The table staff generally change from year to year so there are varying degrees of service, mostly passable, rarely excellent. The manager can be polite from time to time, in a rude sort of way, like being spoken to would leave a bad taste in the mouth, or quite pompous believing the riff raff would be better left else where. I guess the buckets of money our employer drops each visit make it tolerable

Tonights rockling was cooked to perfection. A wonderful ambience and great service to match. Only request, is to bring back salmon to your menu.

The food was overpriced, the portion sizes are terrible, the staff were rude over the phone and I got food poisoning to top it all off. 1 star out of 5. If you want to go out to eat in Ivanhoe visit the Ivanhoe Hotel for a decent meal.

Our takeaway experience was exceptional. Takeaway dining with style. From order to collection was an hr. The packaging was great, it maintained the integrity of the dish as well as retained the heat. Extras were added which was greatly appreciated and enjoyed. In addition all the garnishes and dressings were included to go with the entree. The meals were delicious. It was like dining at the restaurant.
If you are looking to order takeaway and unsure this is the menu we ordered.
Entree: prawn gyoza and lamb croquette.
Mail: eggplant parmigiana, rockling with roasted nuts.
Dessert: pannacotta and tiramisu.

I come to Va Tutto regularly and often make last minute bookings. Merto always fits me in and the entire wait staff are very warm and welcoming. I always receive good service and I've never had anything less than an outstanding meal.

I went here with some friends for dinner before we attended a performance nearby so we were on limited time. We did not have a booking, but the the hostess was delightful and very accommodating. It was a Saturday evening and quite a busy night for them. They welcomed us, and our meals came quickly after ordering. The food was delicious. Each of us had something different and we were all very happy with our meals. Excellent value for money. Will definitely be returning.

This has to be my favourite restaurant, the food is fantastic. Always super fresh with a great blend of flavours. I have eaten in both the bistro and the dining area, the foods quality is delicious in both. The staff are attentive, and knowledgable, I like the level of service not too over the top. Unless something dramatic happens this will continue to be my number one place to dine.

One of the best, freshest and consistently delicious eye filets and mash potato in all of Melbourne.

If you want bad service, attitude from waiters, and want to wait 45min to get serviced... come here! Sorry for asking for a menu.. great food however they need to lift their game on customer service.

Made mistakes taking our order, burnt the pizza and then served us the wrong pizza, one of the sides came after everyone had finished their meals. Waiters too busy to pay any attention or even apologise. Pretty awful and rude generally.

A great fine dining experience in heart of Ivanhoe. The bistro menu has a great selection as well.

A local in Ivanhoe (1st visit ) = Lunch :::: Aggressive approach to UPSELL + New York Style PUSH FOR TIPS ! ( 2nd Visit) :::::: For a Glass of Wine & Snack :::: Again REPEAT = Aggressive UPSELL & NYC PUSH FOR TIPS.

NYC I understand : Waiting Staff in NYC aint get paid except live on TIPS

IVANHOE/MELBOURNE/VIC : Different city & I guess all get Minimum Wage UNLESS this restaurant is not paying wages........

I meet with friends regularly at Vatutto and they have an extensive Menu and the food is excellent. The Pav is to die for. The staff are also friendly and knowledgeable.
