I there are very few caring staff here, from the ER to the clinics. They don't seem to care... The ones that do, are new or students and can't do anything about it because the staff in charge prevents them from being able to actually help. It's a shame how they treat veterans.

The medical records office is a disgrace to our veterans and our entire country and their families. They are lazy and should be fired immediately. My husband and I tried calling their office for a month. Leaving countless messages with no one returning our call. After calling a nurse who I believe helped connect us to someone working there she was extremely rude to my husband. Here we are almost a month out from that call and he still has not received his va medical records...mind you he only went about 2 times to the doctor so it shouldn't take them long. Its the last piece of info we need for my husband to submit his waiver to reenlist. Honestly, it makes me want to cry that they just dont care. I will be making an official complaint to the inspector general about the baltimore va medical records. God bless.

I've been out of the service for six years now, and had been going to Johns Hopkins with the idea that I would receive better care simply based on their reputation. Although they are a very good hospital with good care, I have found that the Baltimore VA Medical Center is far better than I had imaged they might be. I plan on going to this hospital for all of my future medical needs. All of the staff that I have come in contact with so far have gone above and beyond with everything they do. I highly recommend this facility for your treatment.

This is the worst hospital i have ever been in, it is like they do not respect the veterans at all. It is disheartening to see that we have a whole facility dedicated to the men and women who have served our country in different ways, yet the people who work there (doctors, nurses, staff, etc) do not care about them at all.

It is the central VA Medical center for MD, so I had to come here to transfer/set up my care with them. Note that many of their offices close at 4pm, so forget leaving work early to come here.

Note that there is free underground parking, enter from the north side of the building on West Faeyette Street and show your ID. The location is three blocks from the Light rail, not a bad walk depending on what street you take.

Otherwise, it is a VA complex - all the same color scheme, lackluster & disgruntled VA staff, decrepit veterans that deserve better care. A little social engineering with the staff - be friendly, joke with them - will get them to smile and be a bit more helpful.
Usually.

I have experience the best in the country within Baltimore Veterans Hospital; also, throughout Maryland. Most of all Baltimore Greene Street, Loch Raven, and Perry Point Hospitals care for all my needs. Not to forget the exceptional care at Veterans Center located in Reisterstown. These locations of the Veterans care are 2nd to none and always available/reliable.

This place is a joke. You come to the ER because your not feeling good, you explain to person after person what is going on, just to have the dr. Walk in hours later to not check you or anything just stand there and say well we more than likely won t have an answer for you as to whats going on and leave. Schedule an appointment with your primary care. I too would also rather go into debt and go to john hopkins than ever come back here again.

Every time I've gone there I've had nothing but friendly & timely service. I would go there for primary care instead of Ft. Meade, but Ft. Mead is closer. Like I said I've had nothing but friendly interactions.
