I enjoy the classes they present and have learned a lot from them. I especially liked having a representative at an IEP meeting. I felt like someone was looking out for me and my child.

I highly recommend contacting the Utah Parent Center. They have tons of resources they can provide you with as well as, they are able to provide so much help with working within the school system. Thank you, Utah Parent Center!
The Utah Parent Center is amazing!!! I love the parenting classes they hold on different topics. The one on helping uncooperative children become cooperative was my favorite!
The UPC gave me valuable guidance at a time when I didn't know what to do for my special needs daughter and her education needs. They have qualified, upbeat, and resourceful advocates who can help with a range of issues. I highly recommend them!
Great site! So many helpful links. The classes are fantastic. The people and staff are wonderful. Thank you UPC!
There's several classes and seminars at the Utah Parent Center that opened my eyes to new opportunities or resources for my son. Trying to navigate Social Security applications is nerve-wracking, and they've been really kind and helpful. Thank you for being here for parents of extraordinary children!
I used Utah Parent Center when my son was going to a private residential high school in Ogden. I was always so happy with the information and time given to me when I'd call. Bravo to you!
Navigating the care of your child with special needs, whether it s a new or old diagnosis, is damn near impossible to do alone.
Utah Parent Center has been our #1 resource for information, services, and support since moving to Utah in 2014.
As parents of extraordinary kids, we owe it to ourselves to band together and access the resources available. Your life, and the life of your child, will be better for it!
Our family has appreciated so much the information and knowledge we have gained from your classes!
Especially helpful with information/preparation on transition services - DSPD, Social Security, guardianship pro se etc
Always a great resource for navigating the world of special needs and our amazing kids!
A good resource for opportunities and ideas for your special needs child.
The Utah Parent Center has helped me SO incredibly much! With everything from assistance with IEPs to Guardianship and beyond. I would never have been able to juggle everything on my own and will be forever grateful for every ounce of help, for what they've taught me, and the kindness they've shown me and my family. Thank You!!!
Utah Parent Center has helped our family numerous times since our child's diagnosis of Autism 12 yrs ago! They are the first resource I recommend when anyone askes!
This is a great place for resources. Any parent could benefit from what they provide.
Utah Parent Center is an amazing resource for families. They have amazing people there to support parents.
It's surprising for me to find out that literally EVERYONE working here has a disability of some kind. They have great resources for adults of all disabilities to become independent like places to search for jobs, go to college, get access to public transportation, and more. They also help parents to better understand how to help their disabled child.
We were so excited that our local pool started having inclusive classes. Thank you for putting this information on your website! They already took one session, and it went really well. I signed up for another one! So much more affordable than the private swim lessons for special needs.
GREAT resource for families with children with special needs. Staff - friendly and caring. Responsive. Take advantage of their services!
I am a resource facilitator with the TBI fund, I work for an agency that is contracted through the utah dept of health to help people find resources that they may not be aware of after suffering a TBI. I have reached out many times to the UPC and each and every time have been offered many different valuable resources for each individual case. The workers really care about each and every referral an go above and beyond what is expected.
UPC offers many parent trainings to help our kids succeed in school and even at home. Thank you!
Iam so grateful for places like The Utah Parent Center. I dealt with Ashlie and she's amazing. Im sure everyone there is
Awesome resources. They are my go to for so many questions. If they are unsure how to help, they will do everything in their power to get you to someone that can help. Can not sing their praises enough.
The Utah Parent Center was able to educate me on my children's rights and walk me through the IEP process. They were very responsive!
We haven't quite been in there but I have read alot of literature they provided. I love the feed back and also all the groups and classes they offer.
The Utah Parent Center was the first time someone took the time to explain my sons rights and the types of resources available to us. I am so grateful to them.
The UPC really strives to make a big difference in the lives of so many by helping them see the best potential that they have both inside and out. It is such a joy and pleasure to see the changes that take effect in those benefitted by their services.
The Utah Parent Center has been there for my family and me for most of my sons life. They answered questions, taught workshops and were friends when I needed them. I can't say enough good things about the services and the people. My son is 18 and just started a new journey and I don't think he would have been able to make the move if it not been for all the love and support that we were given. THANK YOU!
I love the services Utah Parent Center has offered for my family. Guardianship was terrifying for me and they made the process virtually seamless with their guidance!
Great assistance! Our family greatly benefited from the services we received.
They have been there every step of the way of my son s IEP, fighting for both of us.
The Utah Parent Center has provided excellent, knowledgeable advocacy for my family.
They have helped me learn many ways to be an advocate for my children.
Appreciate the information sent out and opportunities to learn more to help my son with autism.
They have served a great resource while I've been trying to navigate in the Autism world. So grateful for them.
I am thankful for classes offered by the parent center. At different stages of my child s life and my learning of needs and school policies these classes have been very informative. I love seeing new classes offered and the outlook for positive community interaction.
They have great resources for children with special needs and their families.
This is such a fantastic resource for the community!
The Utah Parent Center has been and continues to be an amazing support for my family. Having two children with very different disabilities but both needing IEP's, I have leaned on the trainings and expertise of this organization, for great information, as well as giving me the tools needed for me to become my children's advocate and learn how to manuver through what can be a daughting and challenging system. Now as a proffessional working with famlies, I don't hesitate to use their flyers or refer parents to them. I stil love attending their trainings whenever possible.
This is a great place. They truly have the best intentions. They do wonderful things to advocate for the disabled. Please use them if you need help. They are like lawyers for your side and they are non-profit and free to use. If your child is struggling in school, they will help you get an assessment from the school.
Thank you for serving families impacted by disabilities and special needs. The training, resources, and information you provided to our family has made all the difference in our ability to help our son be successful. You have helped us throughout his lifetime and I know you'll be a resource for him and for us in the future.
The staff is very kind, considerate and attentive to all who take part in any type of class. Great for all families starting out with a disabled child, and good for continued support as the child grows.
The monthly classes have been extremely helpful! I loved the book about Grit that the Utah Parent Center provided for free and the online seminars that accompanied our reading.
I can not express how priceless the Utah Parent Center is to me as the parent of a disabled child in Utah.
Resources for disabled children in Utah are scarce. This organization, run by parents of disabled children, has helped me to navigate the unfortunate educational system that Utah should be ashamed of. I ve become familiar with my legal rights to demand the education that should be provided, but isn t.
I m also grateful for the referral to the South Main Clinic. There I have the necessary specialized medical care and referrals.
The UPC has been our best resource for navigating raising handicapped children. They've helped us with school, getting guardianship, social security, and knowing what resources are available. I don't know what we would have done without them.
Classes are regularly held on various topics related to special needs of my student/child. Very friendly and helpful staff and wonderful resource for opportunities to help student/parents be successful!!
Very knowledgeable and helpful! Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions about your child's educational needs, they know their stuff and they will help you!
I called because i needed help getting my son assessed, we already had an appointment but i couldnt get the school district to do the assement because they didnt think it was worth it. I told all this to the advocacy center they gave me a number to call and told me to let them know if i needed help making an appointment. I tried to explain that i dont need help with making the appointment but with what goes on during and never heard back..so now im back at square one doing this by myself.
Great support to families.
Thank you :)
Very helpful personalized assistance and support. I appreciated the time a staff member took to help me with a need my family had. I also appreciate the classes and information provided to help me navigate the support network for my special needs daughter.
They provided good information on what to expect in my child's IEP. I was able to ask the right questions and make sure he got the services he needed.
Our 15 yo son is high functioning autistic. The information provided in the newsletter, and the information they ll provide with just a phone call, is really invaluable to my family.
My husband and I have attended classes sponsored by the Utah Parent Center. Though specific to children with special needs, the tools taught can apply to all.
I have felt lost for years with my son. He has ADHD and suffers from anxiety. I didn't think there was a place to go to for support, but this place welcomed me and helped me know what to do to help my son .
Helped me to get the school follow and enforce the IEP that was not being followed.
The UPC has been invaluable to our family. We have kids with 504s and kids with IEPs. We have needed help working with schools as well as just learning what each of these items are. The volunteers have been knowledgeable and supportive. They have helped us so much. We have been better prepared for meetings and calmer as well. Thank you!
Utah parent center was so much help while I was navigating the new world of IEP's. Highly recommend them to any parent!
Great free resource to parents who need help. I love that they re able to pair you up with a parent who has a child with a similar disability or concern. It s nice to talk to another parent who gets it and can provide resources and recommendations.
We have taken quite a few classes and seminars put on by UPC over the last 15 years and have gained valuable insight from them all.
Utah Parent Center offers great opportunities for learning how I can better support my child with disabilities. I appreciate their knowledge of resouces and systems. I like knowing they are there to help with transitions we will face and the emails they send out to keep me posted. Thank you UPC!
They came to my daughter's IEP and helped to make sure my daughter's rights were upheld.
They offer moral support, feedback, and excellent suggestions on problem solving.
Such a great resource for parents who have children with disabilities!
One of their representatives went to my 504 meeting at the school, it was nice to have her support and knowledge.
The Parent Center was my first contact to the world of support for disabilities. They changed my life and continue to do so. They have ongoing training, information, support and help.
I, and sometimes my family, have attended several classes or events offered by the Utah Parent Center and have found them to be both helpful and low stress. I love the welcoming atmosphere and helpful information we have gathered over the years. I only wish my schedule would permit me to attend more of the offered classes throughout the year.
They are always helping to better serve the community and help families with children with special needs. Thank you!
Great organization and resource for parents of children with disabilities.
The Utah Parent Center is one of the best resources in navigating the link between our children and the school system. We received so much great help from them and it allowed us to go to the school more educated and with an advocate if needed.
I can always count on the Utah Parent Center to help me get the support and resources I need for our daughter with special needs. From local respite all the way to completing guardianship, they make parenting so much easier. Call them!
Representatives of the Parent center were willing to advise me as a representative of the Sped. dept. and the parents of my students said she shared valuable information at a parent group we organized. I think it is very important for parents to feel they have an advocate available.
The Utah Parent Center helped me understand how best to look out for my children with IEPs.
Utah Parent Center is a great resource for anyone with a family member with special needs. They were there for us over 20 years ago when our son was born with a rare syndrome. Through the years when we have encountered roadblocks whether it was with the school district or finding services they were there to give helpful advice or guide us to appropriate resources and people. I have referred several people to their office for help. I have taken advantage of classes on guardianship and other things that would benefit our family. This past weekend I was able to share information from their website on an issue another family was dealing with. Utah is very blessed to have this resource in our state. Highly recommend The Utah Parent Center and their amazing staff and volunteers!
I have called the Utah Parent Center with questions about school, teachers, and parent education classes. I always receive great advice and/or clarification about the issues we face in the Special Education program. Knowing that the people with whom we speak have personal experience as well as training is invaluable! I recommend them to other parents trying to navigate the Special Needs world.
I have learned so much from you guys and have enjoyed every single update on new classes I can take, and new activities available for my daughter!!!! Thank you!!!
I attended a free workshop to learn about the process of getting an IEP for my mildly disabled child. They are SUPPORTIVE & experienced & fully informed. Parking looks more intimidating than it is. Handicapped accessible. Super nice. They have fought so many battles for so many years, you know you are in good hands.
I was greeted by wonderful people who wanted the best for my child.
The Utah Parent Center was a great resource of information and support for my family.
Huge resource for families! They've always been very nice to work with! They know how to help you through the process!
The Utah Parent Center is an excellent resource for families who are supporting a child with a variety of special needs. We were so grateful for the UPC's advocacy when we were struggling to get an IEP in place for our child. I refer friends here all the time!
The Utah parent center has very informative classes and has supported me in understanding how to best support my autistic son.
I got some great feedback and advice from UPC. It turned some hard and challenging IEP's and 504's a brand new meaning. The help they gave was essentials and made it all work great!! Heidi Whittaker was absolutely fantastic!
Jodi Hansen has been more helpful! She has definitely even a huge help in my life and also my daughter. Jodi has given me resources and is very knowledgeable with special needs children. She is always up to date with the latest information and also does a fabulous job rallying for the rights of those with special needs. Jodi has also helped several of my friends when they have needed help or questions answered. Thank you so much for all your hard work!!
Excellent resource centre. Lots of information and support for parents of children with disabilities, for example.
My daughter is participating in the summer camp and comes home with a big smile on her face. Thank You!
They really took the time to listen and gave me great advice and information to help my daughter. I talked to Roz and she was amazing!
