as soon as they took the hydrofoil to Levanzo from Trapani on 16 August 2020, they called the boarding abundantly before the vehicle arrived, forcing unmotivated people to stand in line under the sun and without having set up shaded areas. they embarked fully loaded without therefore any possibility of safety distancing. considering the heat, also due to the obligation (at least that) to wear masks, they did not activate the air conditioning inside the vehicle, thus not guaranteeing air exchange and thus making the crossing a nightmare (despite the fact that it was the obvious discomfort to two different operators who also replied in an evasive and mocking way ... "eh it's not like we're at home ..!").
during the stop in Favignana (always with the ventilation system deactivated) the exhaust gases penetrated inside the vehicle making it difficult to breathe (among crowds of people, masks and air exchange system deactivated) and without anyone worrying about thing.
I recommend, if possible, to try alternative companies to this one.
if you are in poor health conditions, it is strongly advised not to take the crossing.

20 minutes before departure it was not possible for me to have refunded the ticket due to departure they have no one to sell it to ... with a long line behind who had to leave with that race.

We waited for a full 7 hours in front of their ticket counter at Favignana port with one ferry after the other cancelled due to wind conditions. We are not able to professionally judge the legitimacy of these decisions. Visibly conditions didn t change much and we couldn t completely disperse our suspicions that they simply wanted to fill their two ferries scheduled for late afternoon which they eventually did since there weren t nearly enough people waiting to fill the ferries throughout the day. Irrespective of the validity of this, their communication was terrible. Instead of clear communication and e.g. by way of a screen, the ticket staff communicated shortly before a boat s scheduled departure (in Italian) to hopeful passengers standing nearby. Eventually, they were dealing with an angry mob and local police started patrolling.
In brief: Liberty Lines is a firm with what appears to be a monopoly dealing with a captive clientele since it is difficult to get off the island by any other means.
I cannot say avoid when visiting an otherwise absolutely beautiful island, but prepare accordingly, especially when weather conditions are not ideal.

my experience with the Libery Lines company was terrible from start to finish, I used your ferries both for Lipari and Pantelleria and after buying the ticket online (the site is dilapidated and the tickets were delivered to me only the day after the purchase by contacting the call center after a thousand phone calls, since almost no one answers and that it is closed on Sundays) you have to validate the E ticket by queuing for almost an hour useless and unnerving.
On board the Trapani-Pantelleria ferry the staff proved loud and coarse as many passengers tried to rest but they engaged in private conversations practically screaming.
Finally, on the day of 26 \ 8 \ 2018 the Pantelleria-Trapani section was canceled and we were notified only at 11.30 when the only alternative to leave the island is the 12 o'clock ship, creating enormous inconvenience.
I later contacted your refund section and the only message I get is that I will have to wait at least two weeks for the refund to be finalized.

I think it is easy to imagine after this painting that my experience was negative as well as for my traveling companions and I imagine for hundreds of other passengers.

On the way you get in and your bags are regular and on the way back the identical ones magically become oversized and you have to pay the supplement. Evidently there is general incompetence in those who manage the boarding. At least they agreed or if they wanted to earn two euros more, they just had to go with the hat in the middle of the lanes during the trip.

The operators at Favignana tickets are ashamed. Rude, rude and pedantic, they can give no indication to the user especially if there are sea and wind problems. Their indications on departures were unreliable and refuted. Very bad company with bad boat commanders and bad ground staff. Monopoly on the routes to be reported to the Guarantor of free competition.

I used hydrofoils to visit the Aeolian Islands and I was very satisfied. I wanted to compliment the punctuality, the courtesy of the staff and the convenience of getting around. Thanks to all this I had a wonderful holiday.

20/08/16, return Favignana - Trapani of the late 21 which has gradually accumulated up to 1 hour without any warning from the staff.
Called (I, replacing the ticket office that should have done so) the venue, they don't know what time it arrives!
Meanwhile, given that the other 21.15 and 21.35 ferries have regularly sailed, the ticket office proposes (astutely) to embark on one of these for an additional cost of 2.20 euros each.
I'm sorry, I'm not used to paying for the delays of others.
I will demand reimbursement of the ticket.

We used the Trapani - Favignana ferry. The prices were still ok (about 23 there and back) the service is bad: the travel times (Orari) shown on the internet for the same day were not correct ('non e valida' it was called succinctly), we had to connect an hour later take, while boarding you have to stand in a long queue for a long time (approx. 15 min.), in the morning in the hot sun, in the evening we stood in the pouring rain, no protection and the ship was delayed. Bad entry and exit, narrow and multiple steps. Many passengers have suitcases, it takes forever. Everything very crowded and tight. No wifi on board, but at least air conditioning. Overall not very customer-friendly.
