My family lived on this base back in 1992. The magnitude of the hangar never really hit when you drove past it daily. There were cornfields right next to it. Seeing other people's pics now makes me miss it immensely. I brought 2 babies home to that base. I really hope they don't tear it down.

One of the largest free standing wooden structures in the world. 1000' long and 300 ' feet wide and tall, a point of historic and architectural interest. Normally closed the hangar is open by special permission for community events including the Taste of Tustin (early November) and the Tustin Hangar Half marathon and 5k (March).

Well worth the visit.
