This museum should not be missed when visiting DC. It's a touching and informative tribute to the victims of the Holocaust. All the staff were helpful and friendly with exception of one woman at the information desk who refused to allow me to throw away a napkin I used to remove wax from fingers from lighting a candle to honor the victims of this tragic period in history. First she lied and said there was no trash can, then when I saw the trash can, she moved it so I couldn't access it. She was extremely rude and unhelpful for no reason. The manager did make her apologize but it wasn't sincere and there was no reason for her actions. I don't think she should work here since she goes out of the way to be evil for no reason and clearly has the ideology of a Nazi seeing as she likes to be cruel and cause stress for her own enjoyment.

A must see attraction that will step you back in time to walk the footsteps of those who suffered under the Nazi regime. A surreal moment hearing and seeing survivors of the horid concentration camps. If you are not touched emotionally with a laden heart, teary eyes and a lump in your throat, I'm not sure what else would.

What an experience! The architecture of the building told as much of the story as did the exhibits. The individual profiles created a connection to the pictures and artifacts that was somewhat overwhelming. The educational experience is indescribable.

The crowds ruined this place. I went on a Monday but it was so packed we could not view most of the displays. People were constantly standing in front of others and blocking us and them from viewing. Others we spoke with expressed the same frustrations. We ended up just leaving around the halfway point. Really need better regulation of crowds to make the experience as impactful as it should be.

This was my first visit. I have waited to go because I did not think I could bear it. It is quiet and thought-provoking. But in no way is this depressing. It energized me to reconsider my perceptions and stand against oppression and stand for my fellow humans. I will return. I have more to consider.

Fantastic museum to depict the cruelties that occurred during the Holocaust. Brings awareness to one of the most tragic events in human history, to remind us of what happened, and how we shall forever remember this event to ensure that something as terrible as the holocaust does not repeat itself in the future.

"The first to perish were the children... From these a new dawn might have arisen."- Yitzhak Katzenelson. You may feel like children should avoid this museum, but I disagree. They have exhibits for all ages. The experience can be as historical or as emotional as you choose.

This museum will persuade you that holocaust museums should be all across the world to often remind people about the atrocity we are capable of. We should raise our children to let them know what happened to never allow this.

Was a thought provoking experience. An experience that everyone should have and remember. Even with all I already knew about the Holocaust, this place really brings it home and will teach you something more. However, it was overly busy in our afternoon timeslot and the bus loads of students not showing the respect this museum and its displays were due was distracting for many of us that were attempting to be fully immersed. Perhaps cut back on crowd size slightly or limit entry times for 'field trip' crowds? Or maybe encourage the ones with no interest to remain outside or in the lobby and allow the students with interest and understanding to visit the main display. Perhaps due to timing of our visit (spring break).

The USHMM is a very well curated museum. While it gets depressing, it does end on a hopeful (less depressing) note. The museum is set up in a very easy to get through and see everything way, and will be appropriate for younger people provided they can maintain a respectful volume.

There's a lot of history and vivid insight to this place and a really thorough representation of what went down back then. I will warn you though this is not for those with weak minds, nerves, and stomachs. Absolutely a learning experience.

We missed our appointment for the pervious day due to our bus trip arriving late to Washington from Connecticut. My family went back the next day on our own to see if there were any walk up tickets left. Due to the busy spring break time, there were no tickets left. However, my 14 year old had a research paper she was working on about the medical experiments conducted during the Holocaust. When we explained our situation, The museum guide helped us and graciously let us in. What an amazing gift and expierence.
