A nice Uzbeki restaurant with nice food.

A nice Uzbeki restaurant with nice food.
Shisj kebabs are pretty good and so is the appetizer bread.
The space inside is very cozy and there is also seating outside when the weather is good.

What happened? We used to love this place but the service was SO SLOW on our last visit. It took 40 mins to get water. They brought tea but no cups. Then they only served us half of our entrees. We had to ask them to bring the other half. Such a bummer. We have been coming here for years. But we need to find a new favorite place:(

Unfortunately, one star since the first visit's attentive waitress can't cancel the second visit's 'I don't care and you can't make me care' waitress.
Two diners in the restaurant yet Miss Thing busied herself watching too loud tee vee music videos while we waited...waited...waited; initially for our food; finally the check.
By not ordering desert we saved ourselves a further 20 minute wait.
First visit's waitress earned $20 tip.
Second visit's waitress found nothing beneath our balled-up napkins.
I doubt she cared one way or another.

I love this place! The food is amazing and it is a BYOB.
I highly suggest their kababs ( the sea bass and lamb ribs are to die for!!) did I tell you about their breads !!!!
For dessert definitely try their Napoleons( order with your food and reserve for later they usually ran out very fast, you might get lucky) with their hot tea.

One of our favorite places. I m a very adventurous eater, but my wife is more of a steak and potatoes person. Uzbekistan is the perfect place for both of us. Kabobs are delicious. Steak and chicken for the less adventurous and chiken hearts, etc. for me! Tons of dumplings, salads and sides. Plus it s BYOB. Vodka, wine, beer all go with this food. Absolutely love this restaurant!

The food is very good here. A couple of things that made my experience unpleasant, starting from the service. Second, the server wasn't very good at her job and didn't explain the options that came with the order. And worst of all for me, was that our food did not come together.

Horror !!!

Horror !!!
The service is simply off scale in its simplicity!
The food is tasteless, just regretted the salt and pepper!
I am already silent about Uzbek spices!
The cook yells at the waiters at the guests with obscenities !!!
Chicken dumplings would be better bought in a store than a disgrace!
The waitresses just don't know the menu!
When asked what would you advise She just smiled!
What is your coffee ??? She said I don t know !!!
Shish kebab is just about nothing!
Not pickled meat!
There is not even a thought about any fire!
All in oil and a frying pan!
In general, even one star is a lot !!!

One of our favorite eateries, not just in Philly, but in the world. And my wife and I have traveled the world over. My wife has even worked in the country of Uzbekistan. Consistently top notch food in a most interesting and pleasant dining atmosphere. The owner, Arthur, and his crew have a world class establishment here.

Amazing place. Menu available in Russian and English. Pretty good loose leaf tea (green and black) and tasty kompot (kinda punch) in addition to variety of soups, pelmeni (dumplings) and plov (pilaf)

Poor service, had to badger them to find a seat, to get service. Couple of items we ordered, they ran out of. That said, we had a great waiter and the food was ok, kind of bland. Not sure if that's just how Uzbek cuisine is or it was this one day, but I didn't feel like I would go back again.

This place IS nuts. The food is absolutely delicious and they will bring you food you didn't even order at no charge to you! The kabobs and verenikas were just plain perfect!!!! I recommend you do go with a large group and bring your own alcohol.
The owner seems to be intoxicated while he interacts with customers. He was rude to me-the person who talked my party of 4 people into eating here! He must have realized he was out of line as he sent us additional dishes we had not ordered. A tray of desserts appeared on the table which were not charged to us, so be prepared for anything when you go here!

Love this place. This is my go to place if I have grilled meat cravings. Everything is so fresh and so flavorful. Love their kebabs and soups. Pretty much everything they cook is awesome. They have a wide variety to choose from. Affordable for sure. You can sit inside or outside. Wonderful atmosphere.

Uzbekistan is a great restaurant to explore Easter...

Uzbekistan is a great restaurant to explore Eastern European culture and cuisine; the food is easily reflective of genuine Slavic dishes, and tastes amazing. Although the inside of the restaurant is a bit crowded, it has a nice dim ambiance that allows for an intimate lunch or dinner. There is also an outdoor deck which is fenced off from the busy Bustleton Avenue but still gets a bit noisy from traffic. The outdoor deck is also spacious, can seat larger groups, and is well lit with a pretty lighting setup. The prices aren't outrageous, but they aren't super cheap either. However, the price is most definitely worth it because the food is fresh and delicious. I recommend getting as much of their fresh-baked Turkish bread as you can -- they're famous for it.

The lamb ribs and chops are the most flavorful I ever had. The service is great though you must give them time to prepare fresh food. The bread is also awsome. I have been here twice in three days and I regret tjat I skipped tje one day. If I get to come back to this area I will definitely have the sea bass.

One of my favorite places to eat. The food is amazing, the staff is great too. Outdoor seating is super cute - you can sit out front or in the back. The food reminds me of a home cooked meal. Expect to sit there for hours eating and enjoying great conversation, we always do! There is a colony of cats that live in the attached parking lot - they are very well taken care of thank god. Feel free to feed them some left overs as I always buy them a chicken shish kabob and cut it up for them :) Just be careful driving in and out of the parking - look out for the cats!!!

The ambience is definitely an eye catcher. The architecture along with vibrant lighting makes for a wonderful evening. The food was absolutely everything I expected. I ordered many entrees however what stood out to me most was the pickle platter and the grilled trout. It was just phenomenal. If your looking for a great place to eat with a hint of culture and great music this is the place to go.
