Tried to get some things done but called ALL the phone numbers on the directory on Monday 9am, only security picked up. Called again Thursday 2pm, again the only active phone number is Security. Everyone else including lodging won't answer the phone. Absolutely useless system if you need to talk to someone, you're out of luck unless you know their on base, and their DSN extension. All the phone numbers most likely direct to people who don't work on base anymore. Dobbins is so outdated and disconnected, no wonder no one wants to go there.
The base is part of America's freedom. The noise level is low compared to real Active Duty air bases. If you don't like MOVE. I salute the men and woman who serve our great nation.
From one vet to our folks serving STAY STRONG, and know we support you.
Can hear them shooting all day / night . I live directly behind the base on windy hill rd . It's very unpleasant to hear war gun shots all day and night .

The plane noise is part of the price of freedom!!
Served 34 years in the military and one of the best perts is military lodging. A long way from the blanket, pillow, linen and a black and white tv of the seventies. Lower priced than the surrounding hotels and more comfortable than most, you find security, recreation and entertainment.
Stayed 4 nights at the Dobbins Inn and for the price it is a perfect place to stay. Staff are nice and courteous. Rooms are clean and I would definitely stay here again. Thank You Staff of Dobbins Inn.
A little confusing with everything so close but not a bad place
Is there no law in Georgia that requires the realtor to inform you the home you're buying is under a runway flyover? Really?
Is it necessary to fly at bed time, regularly and wake the entire county?
Why hasn't this base been shuttered and moved out of town already? The base closed, sold to Tyler Perry, which is out of town would be a perfect place to relocate an active military base with a major city and it's populous to fly over seemingly daily.
Amazing time, I had. But difficult to get on or even find the base itself.

live about 5 miles out from here and all i hear all day is the noise from the fighter jets flying
Nothing like what made us great. I just wish we had more of it. Now if we can survive the democrats.
Just loved the whole experience, from the people to the planes.
Training days , discipline.
Respect. Honor.
I work at Lockheed Martin as a contractor and I have always been treated with respect. I love working on base. I feel secure.
Hey guys, try to do a c 5 galaxy operation during the day.
As A Marine any base thats too quiet makes little sense. PT is a must in down time even for the Airforce and Air Reserve.
PX is decent, has a subway inside as well. There are three main gates that are used. The air force gate is always open, as well as the back national guard gate. There is also a second back gate that is only open during peek traffic times.
You have to really watch the speed limits here. They constantly change and MPs are always hiding and waiting.
I appreciate all those who serve in the arm forces and keep us safe, I really do. I would prefer if they would keep the flyovers to day time hours and or weekends.. Hearing Air Force plane flying over your house at 9pm is bit much.. Hopefully they will consider that in the near future.
Very tight parking. Narrow roads. Just enough to squeeze in. Have your best driver at the helm. Very simple...
PX is really disappointing. On several occasions it was to open at 10:00 but did not open until 10:20....very unprofessional. As you walk inside there is generally very loud music from the vendor who is selling paintings/photos/art, etc and it is located at the entrance so you have no choice but to walk right through it. Only a few people over the years have actually approached me and asked if I needed help. The prices, like any PX/BX are no better than any other retail store running a sale and you can definitely find better bargains online, anytime. I use this place at a minimum and only when I have to. As far the noise...try living on or near an Army Post with Artillery ranges...there is very little noise coming from this place as compared to an Army Post...the noise levels are part of it.
I've lived in Cobb County for almost 60 years, Marietta or Smyrna, and noise from Dobbins and Lockheed has never bothered me. I am confused about complaints that the poster didn't notice plane noise before buying, now complains they fly constantly. Lockheed and Dobbins both mean good economy and safety... things we Democrats love.
I wouldn't have a problem with the place if they didn't decide to fly the planes at all hours of the late night, forcing people to stay up due to the racket.
We are retired military and stay at the
Dobbins Inn every time we return to Atlanta.
The base is a safe place to stay at a great price.
The rooms are clean and designed for an extended stay. Fresh linen is supplied daily. There are some great places to eat nearby.
Would advise to call well in advance for availability, due to the priority given to reservists during training weeks.
Overall this is high value stay with respect to price and quality.
First time ever staying on an military installation will definitely make a habit of it. Rooms are very spacious with ample amenities and you can sleep knowing your guarded by Americas best and brightest
