I am a student pursuing BBA Finance, and a very fair reasonable person. My opinion of this school is that the campus are very clean and well maintained, the professors are great and knowledgeable. However, the advising and the admins system is a bit sluggish and slow. As a full time employee and a full time student, my schedules can get very hectic and I wished that their library hours were a little bit more flexible so I don't have to drive to Midland to find an empty Starbuck for a study session.

Sent multiple transcripts 4 months in advance. Was assured multiple times by admissions that the application would be complete, so contacted advising to remove my hold to register. Then advising says I'm not yet admitted. I played messenger between departments for weeks, now not able to register in time for classes because of terrible organization, lack of interdepartmental communication, incompetence of admissions department, and an understaffed advising department. My graduation has now been pushed back another semester, and so goes my grant eligibility. If I hadn't already MOVED to this town to finish school then I would have certainly gone with a more professional institution.

After completing various classes from UTPB, I have realized that this school has a thriving learning environment. It is comprised of many good teacher, specifically Mrs. Maureen, Mrs. Amber, Mrs. Akins, Mrs. Shareen, Professor Dan, and Professor Royce Wu.

While my professors and classes are great, it doesn't make up for the lack of organization in the school's system itself. The accounting office is terrible, and it takes them forever to even do anything, even things that SHOULD have been done BEFORE the semester began. As a transfer student with a 3.0 gpa, I was awarded a scholarship, which would considered me in-state. It's a $1,000 difference between being labeled a resident or not. I submitted my agreement back in August, on it's due date; it's october and the only thing I'm waiting on is for them to apply it. This means I had to open a payment plan with a company that I have had problems with at my previous school. The accounting office is useless; if you ask them a straightforward question, they will beat around the bush and repeat one concept over and over, thay doesn't even begin to answer the question at hand. It's asinine.

This school is a good school if you like to argue with the financial aid and accounting departments. I have not had a single good experience with either one. They are understaffed and never seem to be able to help. I do like the biology program quite well though. The professors are challenging and friendly. The labs are underfunded. It is a decently priced university but it may take some arguing to actually get your financial aid refunds.

I am an online student with utpb doing accelerated courses. My overall experience has been memorable. Great staff that support and do their best to help the students. Challenging classes with teachers that really support student learning. Great advisers, who have been there to answer my every question and point me in the right direction.

If you are looking at online options avoid this school. The communication is horrible. It will take up to a week for many instructors to respond to class questions and up to a month for your advisor to respond to you- if at all. The best part of the lack of communication was having to register absentinia- for about 250 bucks- and then having to wait a full semester for the degree. If you have to register in absentinia you will be charged this amount and not receive an invoice, but instead be told about it when the semester is nearly over. The classes are poorly designed for online content compared to others I took at different schools. I also had teachers ignore emails I sent asking questions about the lesson with no response. I would avoid this school.

Enrolled on the online masters education ESL program and love it. Despite living out of Texas they charged the same tuition they would for a person who lives in Texas. Less thab half the cost of New York State. I would recommend this university for everyone.

I am a second year, online student at UTPB who is pursuing a Major in Psychology. This University is really wonderful and all my Professors and fellow students are very supportive. I would recommend the Online B.A. of Psychology at UTPB to anyone!
