Dr. Baker and his staff are very knowledgeable. I've been seeing upper cervical Chiropractic doctors for 2 to 3 years in other states now. Dr. Baker has been by far one of the best. The treatment I have received over the past few years has done wonders for me. I've experienced aggrivating pain due to sport injuries that this practice has helped me alleviate and learn how to not only get a quick fix but over time to address the source of the injuries.

I had been to other chiropractors, physical therapist and even had what they called the dry needles. The needle hurt more than the pain and did not help me. My neck and back pain only got worse.
Now that has all changed. My pain is almost gone. I do have days of a little pain but it goes away after my adjustment. It took 3 years to get this way and will take some time to get completely well. Outstanding!! Dr. Saffron is an excellent practitioner and educator. I didn't believe in chiropractors but Dr. Saffron has changed my mind and got my "head on straight"! He did a thorough physical assessment and followed it with x-rays to confirm his diagnosis. No twisting, snapping or popping of the neck, just mild pressure at the correct spot and I didn't even know he had "fixed" me. I was very skeptical when I first became a patient here in September of 2016. I was miserable from severe migraines and chiropractic care had never helped before. Dr. Baker's office is great! As a new chiropractic student attending Sherman College, not from Spartanburg, him and his staff made me feel at home my first time there. I also had never gotten a Blair adjustment, coming from another upper cervical technique, I felt the power of that adjustment afterwards as subtle as it was. I'm glad to be under his care.

In a last ditch effort to avoid carpal tunnel surgery, I made an appointment with Dr. Baker. I had been experiencing total numbness of my right hand lasting 10-30 minutes, 2-3 times a day. I had received 2 carpal tunnel diagnoses from 2 separate doctors a year apart, and it looked like I would have to have surgery. MY RIGHT HAND HAS NOT BEEN NUMB SINCE THE FIRST ADJUSTMENT BY DR. BAKER ON SEPTEMBER 14, 2014. I still experience some tingling in the fingers, but that continues to lessen each week, and I hope it will disappear eventually.

In 2014, I was diagnosed with fibro. They put me on gabapentin. At one point I was on the strongest dose possible. I still was in pain. A coworker of mine showed me a video of a doctor in Charlotte, North Carolina that did upper cervical care. So, I got to looking to see if there was one in Spartanburg. That's when I came across Dr. Baker. I knew him from church. So, I also knew he would tell me like it is. If he couldn't help, he would tell me. He found out that it was a pinched nerve I have had since I was little. He had told me he was going to get me off my nerve pain medication and I was like, yeah right. I am going into my third day of being gabapentin free. The main reason I was willing to go off the medicine was because he says it slowly kills your organs. I have only been going to Dr. Baker for a month or so but I have already seen amazing results. So, go get your head on straight and see Dr. Baker. You won't regret it.

When you find a source to deliver you front it, you want to tell the world. "Upper Cervical Chiropractic of Spartanburg" has provided that relief for me. My relationship with them has been professional, honest - I have no reason not to trust them. My upper spine, back, and right hip are now pain free. My pasture in sitting, standing and walking have improved. I can now climb stairs, enjoy roaming the halls at Biltmore Estates, stand at the kitchen counter and cook, walk from parking lots to stores without limping - all of this pain free!! Oh, did I mention that I'm 80 years old; never mind that part!
The only small disappointment - I suffer from headaches and hoped for complete relief. It hasn't happened. I'm still in the healing stage so haven't given up hope.

I spent 4 years of pain in my hip, limped constantly, had to hold on to something to keep from falling, 4 cortisone shots and two rounds of physical therapy. Nothing helped until I took the advice of a friend and went to Upper Cervical to see Dr. Baker and Dr. Shreve. Now I am pain free, don't have to hold on to a basket or a person to walk and I will be forever thankful I went to their office. I had never been to a chiropractor and had no clue as to what they even did but this honestly is the best thing I have ever done for myself. Feels so great to walk without a limp and they have also helped my posture greatly.

In August 2019, we moved to Moore County, North Carolina from Southern California. After months of unpacking boxes, getting settled into our new digs, and attending household repairs my pain threshold had reached its peak. At that time, I suffered relentless daily 24 hr migraines for at least 3.5+ months. Shallow, restless sleep. Non-stop nerve twitching/spasms in legs. Severe, sudden muscle cramps in early hours of morning - sometimes injuring tissue. Hindered mobility - walking cane was sometimes needed.

After a physical assessment in Feb. 2020 (approx) I started care under Dr. Baker and Dr. Shreve. My upper cervical spine issues are(were) severe. It's a seven hour roundtrip in the car. But, the quality of care is worth every single mile traveled !!

During the acute phase of healing, there was a stretch (weeks long) which generated dramatic manifestations/symptoms. HOWEVER, Dr. Baker and Dr. Shreve had discussed this potential with me in advance. They had prepared me as much as possible for the possibility of a "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride!!" This was certainly true in my case. Besides the overall physical pain, I experienced varying levels of consciousness with no ability to discern reality from dreams (crazy & scary!!), revisited periods of profound loss and grief, and physical traumas were replayed in the form of sudden, involuntary jerking or twisting of my body.
Dr. Baker and Dr. Shreve graciously received me each week and listened as I recounted what happened the week before. Their assurance that all was well and their kind patience in repeating to me the power of retracing by the brain/nervous system kept me grounded and ready to embrace the next 'turn' in healing.

BTW: NONE of the wacky symptoms above were in any way drug induced. I adhere to a strict diet (no processed foods, mostly fresh organic produce) and only consume daily nutritional supplements to replenish micronutrient deficiencies brought about by the ravages of UNdiagnosed celiac disease for over 58yrs.
I take no other medications or drugs except for an occasional sumatriptan (migraine pain - frequency is drastically reduced) and weekly HRT. I do have an occasional cup of coffee with caffeine. Otherwise, I drink decaf.

We are mid-cycle now. My cervical spine is stabilizing. Sleep is greatly improved. Daily 24 hr migraines are virtually gone. Walking cane is 'no more!' Retracing is next to nothing, now - it pops up here and there. But, I expect it and just 'stay the course!"

With a multitude of chiropractors out there, competition is real... The staff and Dr's @ Upper Cervical Chiropractic are amazing. Regular check-ups and a healthy diet have kept me and my family out of the traditional doctors office for years. Thank you guys for everything you do to improve our quality of life!

I first met one of the lead chiropractic doctors and office personnel at a convention for Spartanburg City Workers. They offered a great deal on their services, so I signed up. After the initial intake assessment, I was told that my cost of services would be thousands of dollars. When I informed the chiropractor that I could not afford the services, she said to "pray about it." As I was leaving the facility, the office manager told me I could sign up for a credit card, with them specifically, to be able to afford the services. They never asked if I had health insurance, and they genuinely never cared about my health issues. For them, it was all about "God" and my money. I would advise to not spend your time or money on this business because they are not in it for the right reasons.

Having fibromyalgia all my life (it's an inherited disease), now that I'm almost 70 years old, my muscles are beginning to lose their strength and tone. Therefore, it is more difficult to hold an adjustment now than when I had the strong muscles of youth. The fact is, I would most likely be disabled at this point if I had not had regular adjustments to keep my spine aligned to offset the damage being done by fibro as I age. With the help of Dr. Baker for quite a few years and Dr. Shreve who recently joined the practice, I can still take care of myself at home which is a blessing. Also, the office staff at Upper Cervical is top notch! I am a very demanding patient and they never fail to treat me with professional courtesy and urgency when I need immediate care. Very professional and friendly! The best experience I have ever had at a chiropractic office! He found the cause of my neck & back pain and horrible headaches that very first day! He adjusted me so fast I didn't even feel it but within a few hours my back pain and headache was gone! I've been with him for over 2 months now and still no headaches! They used to be daily! I AM BLOWN AWAY!!!

I had been having trouble with my right wrist. I am a quilter and I am right handed, so I thought I was possibly having some carpal tunnel issues.

Then, a few weeks ago, I noticed that my right wrist was swollen. I was not surprised. Then I noticed the same swelling on my left wrist. That was a puzzle. And then things were getting worse, I almost had no use of either wrist. I could not turn a door knob, open a jar, and could not sleep because of the pain in both hands.

Last week I had an appointment with my primary care physician and he thought that because it was bilateral it could possibly be rheumatoid arthritis. This week, on Tuesday, I had an appointment with a hand specialist. My wrists were x-rayed and there was nothing to indicate the reason for swelling, pain and loss of use.

On Wednesday I had a follow-up visit with Dr. Baker. My upper cervical joint had gotten out of alignment and needed adjustment. Dr. Baker did that adjustment.

This is what has blown me away. On Thursday the swelling in both of my wrists was gone. I can move both of my wrists normally without pain. I can open the door, open jars, lift things and sleep without pain. I am back to normal. The upper cervical adjustment Dr. Baker administered was definitely the solution to my wrist problems.

My husband and I are finding relief and healing from multiple symptoms and injuries, from chronic neck and lower back issues to hip and shoulder pain. When I first went to see Upper Cervicle of Spartanburg I had very bad neck pain. After just a few weeks I have far less pain. Also I could hardly turn my head without turning my shoulders also. Now I can turn my head close to all the way without moving my shoulders at all .

I had a lower lumbar fusion done last July at the advice of a neurosurgeon. I was told things should get better yet sadly things got worse. I was walking with a cane and could only stand for about 15-20 minutes before my legs got weak and I had to sit down. I was tired all the time and had many emotional issues as well relating to my situation. I approached Dr. Baker at church one Sunday and he said it was free to come see him for a consult to see if he could do anything for me.

My heart sunk after seeing the xrays and hoe much "help" I was going to need but after just the first adjustment I could tell a change. I had more energy and my depression was starting to go away. My wife even saw a change. I have been back a total of 4 times since the primary adjustment and I have been fortunate to still be holding the very first adjustment. I can now stand for 6+ hours and have actually been able to go back to work. My anxieties have all but disappeared but if things keep going the way they have after just the first 2 weeks I will be back to "normal" in no time. Dr. Baker is a miracle placed into my life and his family is such a joyful blessing to know them. I look forward to continuing my treatments and even after my plan of treatment is done going in for regular check-ups to make sure I am not harming myself. I have my whole family going to see him and we feel truly blessed.
