Campus police are not student friendly, they profile, intimidate and harass students incidence on campus that could be rectified results in police misconduct falsifying reports students charged with bogus felononies escalating into the Maryland Court System and most of the school officials that are involved in the Student Management turn a blind eye and never interject on the students behalf not to mention the Student not only have to contend with the County but also student conduct charges to which they take the false reports at face value leaving the Student guilty til proven innocent. But in the meantime the Student has to contend with a record of felony charges and court proceedings. If my son didn't like the school in spite of what I mentioned in my post I would not recommend this HBCU at all they're student support organizations are headed by attention title getters who do not perform according to the responsibility and accountability of their titles and this surmise includes Ms Heidi.

Umes is a great school; don't let anyone fool you ;before you judge it get more information about the school. My experience here I always found instructors here who want you to do your best and push you to be successful. Success isn't determined by the school it's determined by you. Very Professional in every way!

UMES is absolutely great. Classes are definitely competitive for those there to learn. Programs are wonderful along with the people. Food can have some improvements though but its not disappointing. My experiences were awesome, even for an introvert like me I had a blast. Piece of advice though, go there to learn so you can represent the University. If graduation rates are low is due to the fact many people are not willing to put the effort. In part this is due to the loose admission process. Also not a problem but It will be nice for more hispanics to be targeted for admission. Just a bit more of cultural diversity.

If I could give this school a zero after today I would. They lack compassion and it s terrible that my daughter was upset because they people who supposed to help decided to giggle and laugh. Things weren t told to us so now she may have to sit out this fall and all she as told well that it nothing we can do with a sarcastic tones and smart arrogance. Smh shouldn t be open the registrar department needs new employees

SUPER WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. MY DAUGHTER WAS TOUCHED BY HOW ORGANIZED THE OPEN HOUSE (APRIL 27, 2018) WAS AND THE VERY BEAUTIFUL AND SPACIOUS CAMPUS. WHAT REALLY SOLD HER WAS DURING THE STUDENT BREAKOUT SESSION AND SHE MET A NEW FRIEND. ALSO THE FINANCIAL AID OFFICE WAS VERY PLEASANT AND WELCOMING. THE YOUNG BROTHER AT THE FRONT DESK WHO HELPED US WAS DELIGHTFUL. THE ADVISOR FROM THE SPECIAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT EVEN EMAILED HER LATER THAT DAY THANKING HER FOR HER INTEREST IN THAT PROGRAM. UMES HERE SHE COMES...... FALL 2018.
