Expensive ambiance, unbelievably expensive decor. Service is slow but of great quality. Food is plain but well made, and hit the spot. Really enjoyed my honey garlic chicken with rice and steamed beans, with apple sauce and black tea. Best of all, the meal was complimentary. Parking fees are outrageous though. A++ would get my appendix removed again.

I live in Renfrew Arms Apartments on 98 ave & 104 street 4+ years, students from here like Jessica (business/yoga) & Jenna (aucupuncture) by city of edmonton and their gangs regularly (24/7) wirelessly shocking and torturing teanants in of renfrew and britania. need help. They bring in hundreds of cars and target individual teanants through 'the horizon apartments' + 'the palisades/broadwalk' + vincity. need help. Sometimes they put digital image of other people's heart and palpitate and burst vulnerable teanant's hearts. need help.

Took a course online with the University of Alberta and I really loved the pace at which the course went. The material was well structured and the site was user friendly. The teachers were very knowledgeable and addressing matters in a quick manner. I would recommend this University to anyone who has a busy life and is looking to expand their resume without sacrificing their work hours. Thank you for a great experience, UAlberta!

As a current undergrad student, i can tell that u of a have loads of amazing professors. The facilities are okay, but due to budget cut some facilities are lacking maintenance, e.g. lab machine in csc. And they almost never come to fix a cracked desk in cs.
Another thing I don't like is the PARKING! They will rip you off not only on your tuition, but your monthly parking! And the ticket guys are always working hard to issue you as many tickets as they can! It even sucks for me that as a driver, I am forced to buy u-pass when I'm paying the tuition, even I never ride public transit.

Had a bad experience with the professors and Dean in the law department. I had failed one course and when I asked the professor for help she was on vacation. She didnt reinstate my access to the online notes and sent me decade old exam prep. There is huge variability btw the administrators and the professors.

University of Alberta is the most racist I ever heard. If my life is jeopardized, Vice President, President and their agents will be responsible. For example, there is an institutionalized discrimination by establishing a secret "agents" and put students in a "corner":

Email correspondence between Dr. Harrington and Ms. Fowler, May 26, 2011:

He simply does not follow guidelines given, or will not follow guidance given because he believes he knows best, which is probably the underlying problem with his PhD studies from the beginning, and continues to be the problem with respect to his acceptance of the reality that his Department and Faculty have decided to terminate his studies.

Email correspondence between Doctors Harrington, Rude, Swallow and Luckert, March 8, 2011:

Thanks for the clarification and for the heavy lifting on this file. James, Marty Luckert and I briefly discussed this issue this morning. At this point, I do not think that we can say that we provided sufficient warning to Adane. Since he started serious work on the Ethiopia nutrition-poverty case a few weeks ago, I would say that his performance has been adequate. However, now that he is stating that he has so much trouble working with James and I, we can move along the line of failure to secure a supervisor . We agree that he would provide a specific output by tomorrow. At this point, we propose to wait until after tomorrow before drafting a formal letter along the lines you indicate below.

Email correspondence between Dr. Harrington and the Appellant, March 8, 2011:

I have emphasized that it is vital that you secure a supervisor or co-supervisors within your department in order to continue with your studies, and I can only urge you once again to work with your department.

A subsequent email to the same effect was sent on April 27, 2011.

The excerpt is as follows: Failure to secure a supervisor for your studies can be grounds for terminating a program of graduate studies and I have warned you in the past about the potential consequences of your allegations and complaints and their negative effect on your efforts to secure a supervisor for your studies.

Email correspondence between Dr. Harrington and Dr. Humphreys, March 14, 2011:

Many thanks for your reply. I appreciate the situation. I should clarify that I am not looking for assistance in securing a transfer, and nor was Rural Economy, which wishes to terminate the student s program. I was simply hoping for the cold facts to present to the student about the likelihood of a transfer, since the student seems to thing [sic] that it would be easy to transfer. I was hoping that you would say that an applicant for transfer would need to put together an application that would be considered by the graduate committee, with this application including information on what the student has done since coming to the U of A, and I was hoping that you would advise that the student would have to start from the beginning e.g. that his courses in Rural Economy would not count towards an Economics degree. Your advice on the non-acceptability of the courses is very useful. Frankly, I am trying to convince the student that a voluntarily [sic] withdrawal is his best option, but the student is being unrealistic and seems to think he can transfer. I have explained that a transfer requires the acceptance of the receiving department, and so your message is helpful in that it is clear that there is no space in Economics. On my return next week, I will be advising the student that a transfer to Economics is not an option, and thus I will go ahead with my decision to accept the recommendation from Rural Economy to require the student to withdraw.

Great staff. Wonderful straight forward place. Clearly marked and organized. New nursing staff should have to tell you right away though so you know theyll take far longer. Also, 6 MRSA cases were on the unit and there was an incident where one of them went to a public washroom, so maybe make it very clear to the patient themselves that they are a high risk.

Overall, I had a wonderful experience with the professors and courses I took for my psyc degree at the U of A. One major issue I had was the lack of personal connection when it came to administration. University fees were often not explained well and because of the sheer volume of students they deal with on a regular basis, you're shipped through like a heard of cattle. Another issue is PARKING! Oh my goodness, parking costs are through the roof!! Even for students that are already paying a very high tuition. Parking facilities are often not up to date (eg.out of service or simply don't work because of the cold) and their only response is to ticket students. I love this school, but I hate that the raw truth is the university of Alberta is out to make a buck on you.. in more than one way. Cheap shots on students to make the extra buck overshadow all the positives about this school in my opinion.

This is the place where you realize that dreams are dreams and you realize that these dreams will never come to reality. But you make friends who also have their dream crushed and you get along with them so i will add another star for that. yay

If you are expecting that your experiences here will be a refreshing free, unorthodox, academic experience think again. Just another manifestation of your stereotypical backward facing Alberta institution, slowly privatizing into diminishing artistic freedom with blatant disregard for the signature freedom of information that universities were designed to expand and protect. Expect the worsening of conservative anti-environmental research in the environmental science programs and the not so subtle snuffing out of social science and fine arts programs.

Had an uncomfortable medical situation, which forced me to spend 8 hours in UofA's emergency ward todau. I was treated fantastic by all nurses and doctors on staff, my only negavite feedback would be on how lackadaisical and apathetic the admitting staff were towards me as I sat there bleeding allover myself.
