MISSION UNITED Which is Part Of the United Way does wonderful work with Veterans a credit to our community and country .
Bravo for the people helping for the veterans basquet.
I needed my DD214 discharge corrected they won't help because I'm not homeless and I save money. If I said I needed help with a disability claim or I wanted to buy a home they would have their troops front and center. Waste of time. Go here if you are about to get kicked out of your place or need an electric bill paid.
The United Way of Broward is AMAZING. I am a Veteran and everything they do for Veterans is wonderful. Each event is well organized and the volunteers are always so helpful and happy to be there!!! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
Very generous organization that is always supporting our local active and veteran military families.
Very proud of all the work United Way of Broward County does for the residents in our community!
Thank You!
Veterans services was Exceptionally Helpful in walking me through the process of Obtaining a Replacement DD214.
I've Lived here in Florida 21 years now and I've reached a point in time where I'm forced to rely on the Services Afforded to Military Personnel.
Thank You Again.
The United Way's homeless veterans program is one of the worst programs I have ever dealt with. Zero follow up and zero concern once the tenant/veteran had passed completed their lease agreement. Empty commitments to remove our veterans when they prove to be problematic. Specific names of United Way workers to follow.
Awesome organization
All the forces together
Nice crew
People so nice
Give through United Way (to service your community), not to!
Mission United ft laud is the most unprofessional organization i ever dealt with. I completed an appl for a vet to get Move In assitance in May 2018 the application was denied due to property being ineligible. Landlords beware they only pay 2 months move in fees but you do not find this out until you submitted the Appl for assistance if your property is denied they do not advise you either. you have to submit your id/fill out W--9 and ssn i do not believe there is any security for your info
I was here to visit Mission United which is a place where veterans get help with housing an employment.
Now that it's been a few months I'm changing the 3 stars to two. The reason being is when I went there initially I bought my bank statements and everything they had asked for.
When I left I wasn't sure if they were going to call me or I was going to call them. You start out with a caseworker and fill out the necessary forms. Then you proceed to the next table where supposedly they help you with housing and finding a job.
Really the way it is is you got to find yourself a job and they might try to put their thumb on the scale to help. At least that's the feeling I get since it's been a few months and I haven't got any new employment.
Then I went to the disability table and they were very helpful but I wound up leaving a bit confused. Then I went to an education table but I wasn't really looking for education but they were helpful and directing me towards a couple of their programs which I haven't followed up on. Then I went to the legal table and they helped me tremendously with my divorce. Anyway several months passed by and then the caseworker finally called me and asked me for the papers I already had given her. So that's why I'm changing my star. .
