United States Botanic Garden Review

We love coming here. Whenever we have guests in town the gardens are always on the list of places we go. It s beautiful and relaxing. And a good midway point after doing the Capital building and the Library of Congress on your way to other things in the Mall.

Goregous botanical garden, they have different assortments of plants from all over the globe, each section has different climent needs so the humidity changes from section to section. The only down side is it's kind of a fast walk through.

Just beautiful.. everywhere..take a camera. Take your time.take the kids and enjoy the trip. It can get a lil crowded so be patient but well worth the trip .

Breath takingly gorgeous. The smell of this museum alone is amazing. I loved how they broke up each room into certain parts of the world. I loved each exhibit.

Really to do, a totally exceptional place, by its location and the quality of the garden.

Very good place to visit with family! Never thought that a garden would be this good! What's the most amazing is the miniature of cities that built from vegetatif. Its wonderful!

Out of all Botanical gardens I have ever been to. This is the second best. And it sure deserves a 5 star since its free and all.

This is a relaxing oasis of a great atmosphere in Washington that everyone should visit. And you don't need to be here all day, pop over to the other museums after. Washington has so much to offer, Enjoy!

This is a very beautiful public garden and one not to be missed on any visit to Washington, DC. I have been several times, in the winter, summer, spring and it is always a great place for singles or families to visit. In April, they have an orchid show, for the holidays, a fairy garden and train show along with free concerts for the public.

Big line when we went during Xmas break. To be expected. Bathrooms tucked waaaay back in the building.

Beautiful displays and great place to spend some quiet moments by the Capitol

The place is really beautiful, both inside and outside. You definitely should go, the inside part is unbelievably beautiful!

This place was a Winter Wonderland When we passed through. Beautifully kept gardens even before dusted with snow! Do take a quick look if your walking from the Capital to the Smithsonian.

I love this place, and I don't. I guess you have to come with the right people. It doesn't hold my fancy as a fligh-through museum with friends and family. I would love to spend a day alone in this garden discovering every single plant, but it seems to be too busy for quiet observation. The corpse flower is absolutely captivating if you happen to be here during a flowering year.

Fun place to look at plants, very tightly spaced though. Kids area for them to plant and play.

Very well done special exhibit (models of national sites done in plants). It would be a nice place to take a break if you're in the area.

Excellent museum! It's so easy to lose track of time around all the flowers and trees, but you can easily get through it all in around an hour or so. Each room feels like an entirely different part of the planet, and everything is very clean and well-maintained.

A compact but masterly little survey of global botany. Multiple biomes and habitats coupled with themed sections provide a truly excellent garden experience. The medicinal room is a true standout- a chance to see a vast panoply of psychoactive and medicinal plants growing in harmony. Excellent volunteer staff as well.

The United States Botanic Garden at the end of the Mall in Washington DC is a great building with a beautiful collection of plants. Best to head there on a weekday as the weekends are massively busy.

What they had on show was great but a few exhibits were closed

Beautiful place, great for photos and selfies! The variety of plants never disappoint!

It was very beautiful with so many plants and flowers. The children s garden was a small area with less to do than expected. There was an area for children to play in the dirt and plant a flower, but that was about it.

Beautiful grounds with diverse flora. Despite the relatively smaller size, the layout doesn't interfere with the amount of visitors the botanical garden receives.

Really cool, there are a bunch of plants you prpbably.would never wlsee anywhere else, only takes around 1 hour to see the whole museum

A huge collection of plants. Not only is this an incredible place to learn about and see amazing botanicals but they also host events. Live music, parties, events of all kinds. Stop by this free museum, visit the indoor and out door, tropical and desert gardens.

Very beautiful. I need to go back in the Spring when everything is in bloom.

They have really pretty flowers and it's nice to sit there and take the nature in.

The lady at the reception was very helpful giving us tips before entering the garden. The botanical collection is inspiring and informative.

Awesome! Bigger than you think with multiple levels and rooms. Plenty to see outside and inside. Don't miss the misters outside in the center of the conservatory on a hot day! Or the rest of the gardens just across the street by the fountain!

Nice place to take the family and it is just beautiful on the inside. All kinds of different plants!

Interesting for the whole family, for all ages. The elevator was broken but still ways to get upstairs and see it all

Budget cuts should start here. A waste of our money. Let private entities / businesses open all gardens, the government should not be doing this.

Great botanical garden next to US Capitol. Couple areas were closed when we visited.

Fun place to see some interesting plants! That have interactive things for kids, outside there is a garden and seating and chocolate samples by the coco tree. It is a green house so it's hit and humid but it makes a great place to warm up in the winter months.

Beautiful I love it, if you go to DC you have to visit this place!

This is another one of those places I'd been meaning to visit for quite some time but never had proper motivation to fully attend. News of the public mural painting was just the right spark! I'm so glad I went and definitely look forward to visiting again, with little ones in tow. They do an amazing job of replicating the natural environments of all the different plant species housed within each zone of the gardens. It's like touring global terrain is as simple as a walk in the park.

Great place to escape the winter and get indoors with plants

This garden is beautiful. It's large but can still be challenging to navigate with the crowds. There were so many orchids here they could easily change the name to Orchid Gardens.

So beautiful, they have an entire room of different kinds of orchids. Each room has different climate, it's awesome

Interior gardens are small but very interesting. Be sure to listen to the sound bits on the web site.

My first Atrium in the USA, did not disappoint, they have an Orchid Exhibit spread throughout, BEAUTIFUL.
