: Love it I wanna join to reach my goals !!!! Looks beast
I ve been going here for about 4 months for kickboxing class. Wesley, the coach, is very knowledgeable, and makes the class challenging and fun. Definitely recommend it!
Love this place - can t wait to get more experience in training. All of the instructors are very nice and extremely reputable. Perfect environment for putting in some hard work.
Great training if you are 100% healthy and life is going smoothly. Need to consider the "what if" scenarios before signing their contract. They are not customer focused in trying to resolve issues, all about sticking you with the bill at the end of the day. Therefore they will convince you to sign a contract that is beneficial to them and then use that contract against you if any issues arise.
I signed a 12 month contract (August 2015-August2016) after they recommended it despite me informing them that I was in the military and would have to leave at a moment's notice. I soon realized I needed knee surgery and therefore could not use the facilities to train. After the 3 month freeze (they will not let you go longer than that) Unit 2 fitness continued to charge me the monthly dues (about $100) since I was under contract until my military orders came into effect. Without those they would continue to charge me despite me having medical statements from doctors and rehab therapists stating I could not use the facilities due to recovery.
Great people, great instruction, great facilities. What more could you ask for?
I've been at Unit 2 since the end of 2011, and I've been happy with the place. I came here for the jiu-jitsu. If you don't know, Roberto Traven is the BJJ instructor here. His team is a competition team that does quite well in tournaments. Many of Traven's BJJ students win or place in the major tournaments.
I saw that someone else left a bad review saying they were sent to collections when they tried to suspend their membership. I've heard that a lot of gyms are notorious for not letting their members cancel or freeze their memberships, but Unit 2 has always accommodated me when I wanted to freeze my membership.
Top notch facilities. Top notch trainers and staff. Two thumbs up.
I ve been a member of Unit 2 for at least six years. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a real MMA gym staffed with great, knowledgeable instructors. I ve trained in the cardio kickboxing classes and BJJ classes. Both are challenging but rewarding.
It's okay. They don't really focus on technique. The bags look they could use some refurbishing. And it's not as enjoyable as other places. And the facilities are kind of a dump
Have really enjoyed the crossfit classes. Instructors are great, I like the facility and the comraderie. Very fair prices.
Good gym. Took a trial class there and couldn't walk for a week was so sore. Be sure to warm up prior to the class and at least watch a youtube video on how to kick correctly. Being a newbie I didn't know and hurt my ankle. The coach was good but the routines are a bit of advanced if you have never taken a boxing or kickboxing class before.
The gym itself was ok except for the smell, since it is underground and poorly ventilated. However, the problem lies with their predatory membership practices.
Impossible to cancel membership, then they have foreign collections agents calling you at all hours of the night to demand huge amounts of money.
Stay away from this company.
Great Trainers and People, A Real gym if your serious Give them a Chance, you won't regret the choice.
Unit2 is a gym that is small, but mighty. I've been a member since 2016 and have taken kickboxing but mainly sick to lifting weights and Crossfit. The coaches and trainers here are top notch - I'm over 40 and find that they are able to make sure I am training hard but not going to injure myself, the coaches are very good at scaling and teaching good form - weather for beginners or masters athletes and everyone in between.
I wanted to mention cancelations as it seems some reviewers had issues- My daughter did have a membership and I needed to cancel it. The cancelation process was really easy and not a hassle whatsoever. I just had to email the gym with a 30 day notice and they stopped the billing at the end of the 30 days. Unit2 is a great gym for anyone who wants to get fit in a no-frills atmosphere.
Great gym! Staff are way chill compared to the competition. I would give 5 Stars if they could just fix the parking lot and get some more space for the kickboxing classes.
I will give it to you straight.
Unit 2 is not cheap nor is it pretty.
But you know what? When fitness is your priority those things should not matter.
And Unit 2 is pretty awesome for that.
You are not paying to walk on the treadmill for 3 hours. Nor are you paying for tons of mirrors to take selfies. Nor are you paying for folks to flex around the machines to talk about how hard they train.
You are paying to work out with top notch trainers who train you to be as fit as they are. You are paying to work out with trainers who have a mixed martial arts mentality. That is NOT a LA fitness mentality. Its a way of life and they are serious. They help you, but they don't pat you on the shoulder and accept your excuses.
And the gym is not pretty. Its not fancy machines or lockers rooms with saunas.
Its a gym with a boxing ring, with heavy weights, barbells, kettlebells and a kickboxing ring with heavy bags. The back has mats for the MMA stuff which I dont venture into because I am not closely qualified for that stuff. There is kickboxing and crossfit for us normal folks.
They offer:
Kickboxing
Crossfit
Jiu-Jitsu
Muay Thai
Yea the serious stuff. And other serious stuff.
I recommend Unit 2 for some serious training. They focus on things like form, nutrition and getting healthy as a way of life. I remember once a trainer said to me regardless of what you do in the gym, if you cannot move your own body weight in a life saving situation, you are in trouble. I been hooked ever since.
Oh and they have kids classes too. No, not a kids rooms, kids classes. Yesterday they were punching it out in the ring while I was kicking a bag. I can appreciate kids getting some real activity in their lives.
Unit 2 is a fitness community of kind, passionate, unique individuals. You will be greeted with openness and consideration when you show up for their kickboxing, cross-fit, or BJJ classes. The staff maintains cleanliness and safety procedures during these times which allows for a healthy experience.
I cannot recommend this place enough, for they have supported me and all their other members beyond any other gym I ve been to. They cultivate an environment where you can ask for help, discuss your goals, and celebrate your accomplishments. Try their free week but expect to stay because it truly is a lovely place.
Been going here for years. Great gym, great instructors. Not your cookie cutter LA Fitness type experience, this is a place to push yourself, get sweaty, and get fit.
Small, but great gym. I had boxed in college and was looking for a boxing gym upon moving to Atlanta. Found this place in Midtown, went through the free week trial, and finally decided to sign up. The instructors are fabulous and the desk staff is nice. For the price of kickboxing ONLY, it is not bad, however the other classes are a bit pricey and the contract has a lot of limitations and rules. Due to my busy work schedule, I unfortunately am not able to make some of the classes on a consistent basis, so I wish there were more options regarding class times. The parking lot is also very limited and fills up quickly, so I recommend getting to class early.
Unit 2 Fitness is absolutely the best gym in Atlanta. From the Crossfit program to the kickboxing program to the Roberto Traven Bazilian jiu jitsu program, Unit 2 provides elite-level training that is accessible by everyone. I can't say enough good things about the entire staff at Unit 2.
The best instructors ever !! Roberto traven awesome instructor
Outstanding owner, instructors and staff. Given the situation we are all in, they have gone, and continue to go above and beyond to provide not only an environment in which you feel safe, but also an outstanding workout.
I've canceled my membership back in June because I moved across town and they are still trying to debit my account. I've emailed them numerous times and none has got back with me. I've should've read the reviews before joining this gym. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE..!!!
I am a former student at Unit 2,I was there for 3 weeks but I left because I was told I was their karate was not my style but thanks to them I found Atlanta Kick and became even better I am now even closer to getting my black belt. When I get my black belt I will give their karate a second chance.
Best gym in Atlanta, fair price, top notch instructors, so many classes to choose from!
Awesome gym that flies under the radar. Love the kickboxing class taught by Craig - he is genuine and eager to help you get better. Diverse class offerings and can t beat the price.
The gym experience is amazing. Great classes. But once you sign the contract, it's a done deal. Not very friendly at all in terms to things coming up besides the 3 month freeze. I would rather pay per class than sign for a contract. Read it well.
Excellent Service, it's a little small but it has everything I'll ever need. It is also a fantastic location, kind of in the middle of everything. If you're thirsty after your workout there is Torched Hop right across the street to rehydrate with.
Great gym...low key. I mostly do kickboxing, but have done a few Crossfit classes. Highly recommend!
Amazing place to train. I train BJJ and lift weights and there is no better environment than Unit 2
Love this gym! The people that work there are always nice and very helpful. I do kickboxing and jiu jitsu and all the instructors are awesome. I was a little intimidated getting started but I was welcomed with open arms. Highly recommend.
The community here is seriously incredible. The staff is down to earth and always wants to help you improve. The BJJ classes are some of the most fulfilling experiences I've ever had and the instructors are fantastic. They know when to give you detailed instruction and when stay back and let you figure out your own way. This is a place to train, make friends and gain new skills. If you like no-BS approaches to training and genuinely friendly people this is the place for you. I have nothing but respect for the folks I've met here. Go learn BJJ!
You must try out this gym if you are serious about training! The instructors here are amazing and second to none. I train here for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and I work hard every time I step on the mat! Whether it is regular class or tournament training I am never disappointed and my skill level increases every time I train here! This gym has everything you need, I recommend this to everyone who wants to push themselves and get better.
The best gym I ve ever trained at. Best jiujitsu training in Atlanta.
I go to kickboxing class at Unit 2. The location is walkable from Tech, and the instructors are always really encouraging and kind. They learn your name and everyone at the gym is super friendly. It's always a pleasure going!
