Understand Valencia is a fantastic school. I spent 2 1/2 months studying Spanish with Ana and it was working. I acquired a whole new dictionary of spanish words and was just starting to understand grammar a bit more before I left. I came in with next to no experience with the Spanish language and felt that after 2 1/2 months I could hold a basic conversation, ask for directions, order in restaurants. I know that with more time my spanish would only improve. I found my class to be helpful and really fun. And I feel like I'll always have a home at Understand Valencia. I can't recommend them enough.

The atmosphere of the academy is homey and the attention is very close, as well as professional. The organization is quite good, and the courses they offer have a very flexible schedule and try to adapt as much as possible to the student. The value for money is noticeable, affordable prices for efficient courses. Definitely highly recommended if you need to learn both English and Spanish intensively !!

Such an amazing and friendly school. I've been taught by both Marta and Ana and they are truly wonderful teachers. They bring subjects and lessons to life and make the time fly by with learning and laughter. They also are incredible at encouraging everyone to gather confidence in speaking which was a huge problem of mine - thankfully it is long in the past!

It has been a pleasure to go to study at this academy, I recommend it without a doubt, the teachers always with the best attitude and with the same desire that you learn, always attentive to each one, and with small groups !!

I had a very enjoyable experience with Understanding Valencia. I took classes that were face to face and online due to Covid and found both types of classes quite engaging and challenging which is what I was looking for to improve my overall level of Spanish. The class size was nice and small and we practiced aural, oral and written skills from grammar to vocabulary every class. I would highly recommend Understanding Valencia to anyone looking to improve their language skills online or in person for good value.

Excellent classes from very skilled teachers, communication between the academy and I was impeccable. Giving me a choice of in-person classes or online classes, both of equally great quality was a god send nowadays. The classes were always interactive and most importantly, easy to understand. The customer service was always helping me if I had any doubts. Definitely a go-to for the quality and price.

I have really learnt a lot since starting the online lessons. Marta is a great teacher! Highly recommended.

I returned to my study of Spanish with this company earlier this year (2020). I found the classes excellent and quickly found my progress was quick. The tutor created a comfortable environment in which learning was easy, encouraging and successful.

In six months I gained confidence outside of the classroom, so much so that I am now able to communicate so much better. I still have to ask my neighbours and contacts to speak slower, I have a slight hearing deficiency, but am able to reasonably communicate now. So much have I improved that I am now confident enough to make telephone calls in Spanish, watch Spanish TV news with better understanding and talk to my Spanish relatives with a greater clarity.

The online classes are great, saving me travelling time that is used for preparation for the class

I wasn t sure if online classes would work for me. But the teacher Marta was excellent, the lessons were fast paced with a great balance of listening, reading, comprehension and speaking activities. They went quickly and I felt like I learnt a lot. Marta was so lovely, empathetic, clear and generally an excellent teacher.

Great Academy to learn Spanish and English. Discreet teaching material with friendly and prepared teachers. I spent two very pleasant months there and I hope to return to continue with them.

I'd definitely recommend Understand Valencia. In just 1 month, I'm speeding through A1 without knowing a lick of Spanish beforehand. Estela is a wonderful teacher who is very empathetic and suitable for all types of learners. The classes are very immersed and reasonably priced for what you get. I'd definitely recommend them and hope to continue with them throughout my Spanish fluency journey!

This is a fantastic language school in the leafy street of Reino de Valencia, in Valencia. The school was very flexible and worked to find the right class at a time that suited me. The teachers are friendly, patient, and dedicated, and because the class sizes are small, I feel that they can focus their attention onto the needs of the individuals in the group. I've really seen an improvement in my language skills since I joined the school, thank you to the whole team at Understand Valencia!

If you are looking for personalized learning this is the place, well located, with flexible schedules and dynamic classes. The best thing is that it gives you options to take summer intensive in small groups to work individually and collectively.

Great teachers and a great rate. I took a B1 course with Marta and she was very engaging and put forward a really high effort. There was a bit of trouble when I wanted to cancel the course because I requested a day late, but the staff was able to accommodate. I would recommend them!

I was doing an online English course, which I recommend because they are in small groups and the teacher makes the classes very fun and enjoyable.

I took Spanish course in this school and can say that Marta is the best Spanish teacher I have ever had :) She is always very optimistic, has positive attitude to everyone and you never get bored during her lessons. Strongly recommend!

Highly recommended. After trying in a lot of academies 3 years ago I discovered this. Highlight teachers, which makes classes enjoyable and very practical. It is difficult to practice conversation, grammar and vocabulary to the perfect extent but they get it.

I signed up to prepare the B2 and I have passed. The classes are perfect because they are small groups and apart I made an intensive in July morning that was great with a friend who also wanted to take it out.

I have been attending classes at Understand Valencia for the past 9 months and can't rate them highly enough!

During that time I have been taught by two different teachers - Marta & Adriana, both of whom have been brilliant!

All the staff at Understand Valencia are extremely friendly and approachable. The classes are small and intimate which means you get plenty of time to practice talking and asking questions in class. It's also in the perfect location if you wanna grab some coffee or food in Russafa before or after class.

I studied a little more than 1 month (only on Wednesdays) and in the end I passed the DELE B2 exam!

The book to study Spanish, which you can buy there is good, but to prepare for the exam I would recommend "The keys to the new DELE B2".
5-6-7 students in class, almost personalized attention, good atmosphere-all in favor of language students, really, I did less than Wednesday.

Understand Valencia is perfect for anyone wanting to improve their Spanish and offers an excellent level of teaching. On top of the great location and facilities, the courses themselves are well organised and follow a good pace, meaning you have plenty time to go over and understand the material. The teachers are incredibly friendly and patient, helping you through every aspect of your language journey, while small group sizes mean everyone gets to participate. Additionally, the school is very flexible with the wishes and needs of their students, adapting to each student s level of proficiency and desired workload.

The atmosphere is welcoming to beginners; I initially felt shy to speak and make mistakes in class, however, quickly became comfortable and have seen a great improvement in just a months time!

(As a side note, they also make sure the classes are well ventilated and adequate Covid-19 measures are taken into account, allowing you to focus on your studies)

Overall I am very happy with my choice to join Understand Valencia and look forward to continuing my studies :)

Wonderful school. Smaller and more personal, as a total beginner it was perfect. They spoke as much Spanish as was possible, and added in English words when needed.

I had between 2 and 5 people in my classes.

They were very flexible with the program too. I could only stay 3 out of 4 weeks for the A1 class and they pro-rated the classes for me.

The location is great too, right between the hip Rusaffa area with lots of cafe's and the historic and city center areas. You can walk to pretty much every place from here except the beach, which is a bit too far to walk.

The teachers were also top notch, grad level teachers with personalities. Andrea and Ron were A+ teachers.

I was looking for a Spanish school for a long time and I try a lot of them. Unfortunately, it is not so easy to find a really good one. I was lucky and by chance, I went to Understand Valencia and I love it.
I think the most important thing is the real motivating and helpful atmosphere around. It is exactly what I find in this school. The Spanish classes are great! I've learnt so much during the lessons! All staff super nice and friendly, especially the owner of the school Estela, she was always honest and open to help in all situations when I have to miss the class and if I have any questions. This school even give me amazing opportunity to organize my art workshop between students to practice some English with the art atmosphere. It was awesome!

I studied 1 year with them: English B2 and also Spanish, C1. I loved it. Nice people, updated and creative teachers. School clean and always with coffee and tea available. Fair price, friendly professionals and willing to help. Before them, I had already tried Berlitz and Vaugham, I got Understand because I identified more with the method, regardless of being cheaper ... I just won! Thank you people!
