I quit a work contract here because of how extremely unsafe it was. If you care about your loved ones, please want them to stay away from this place. Very sad.

I have not had any issues regarding my health there. They have been great. HOWEVER, my issue lies with the Garden Cafe/Cafeteria. Mother in law was taken to the hospital via ambo for a possible heart attack. (She is ok, did not have a heart attack and was released several hours later) My husband and I went into the cafeteria for a quick snack. I bought the cheese and crackers. The one with the grapes & a strawberry, cheese and crackers. After eating all the grapes and most of the cheese I realized the strawberry was bad, moldy bad. I threw everything else away. I actually bought 2 of the same thing and will not be eating the other one! It is now 3:54 AM the very next morning and I am sick from both ends. I have food poisoning..... I will be calling up there later this morning. Never in a million years did I think I would get food poisoning from a hospital.
A turtle moves faster than doctors in the ER at this hospital!!! The tech who took did my ultrasound told me it takes the doctor 15 mins. to read the results. That 15 minutes took OVER 3.5 HOURS!!! I was sitting in the ER waiting in pain with no updates as what was going on with my own health. Hey Management, what kind of hospital are you running?? I want to walk out and deal with the pain at home than stay another minute in this place!! .
Beware. This place is a joke but the punch line never comes. This train leaves the station and doesn't stop going. They push hospice at the first sign of a cancer diagnosis. Palliative care doctor does not take no for an answer. When my father finally agrees, he was sent home within 24 hrs. He was alert and oriented then 24 hrs later, sedated and never regained consciousness. Hospice pushed for sedative drugs to continue and was annoyed I was holding them. Never got to say a proper goodbye. Even the hospice they chose (family not given a choice) was a joke. Never heard from a social worker or grief counselor. The nurse on call the night my father died was only at the house for 15 minutes. We had to make several calls to get DME picked up as I could not bear to see an empty hospital bed. The poor care does not stop at the door. It keeps rolling. If you need Cancer care, keep going south on I95.
Beware of the emergency room. It seems that the answer is to want to give morphine without finding out the cause of pain. I was told" I honestly don't know what is wrong with you" by a PA and never even saw a doctor.. I saw a specialist who was surprised by the lack of testing. I will never go back and believe me..I tell my er horror story to everyone that I know
Absolutely horrific experience i was seen by a doctor who according to Franklin Square completely botched my surgery and cut into me the wrong way. Additionally he flushed my wound with saline because that was "all he had". Do NOT I REPEAT DO NOT SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION HERE!!!!!
I received next level care at Upper Chesapeake. That is something I have never experienced before and hope to receive again should I ever need it again in the future. Thank you to the phenomenal doctor I had who knew exactly what was wrong with me and made sure I didn t leave until I was better and to the absolutely beautiful nurses and med techs that made me feel at home , welcome , and safe to talk and even cry and who advocated on my behalf when I wasn t able to. The doctors and nurses here are truly walking in their calling and deserve to be uplifted, as well as acknowledged for everything they do on a daily basis. As well as all the accompanying staff in the cafeteria as well as maintenance that kept it clean and service five star. I m truly honored and absolutely humbled by my experience and it has changed the way I view hospitals. I can honestly say Upper Chesapeake is truly a blessing to have here in Harford County. God bless you all.
Spent 6 hours in a chair in unbearable pain and Dr Moon told me he wouldn t do anything for me. I explain while in tears that I couldn t walk or stand and he told me that yes I could it was just painful. I live in Harford county and have always gone to this hospital. But never ever again.
It's great to have a Medical Center close by where different medical practices and professions are available. I even give 5***** to the Security employees that drive around. I was even helped today finding one of the specialty buildings to see my husband, hard to find and a good parking place. He drove me right to the building and parking place. It's a great Medical Center!
My 84 year old mother was brought by ambulance Saturday morning with a sever break to her leg. When I finally called, around 4 pm because no one called me, I was told because of the severity of her break they were sending her to University of Maryland in Baltimore and would be there soon. I never heard anything so this morning I called University of Maryland to be informed my mother wasn't there and they didn't know why. So I called back to Upper Chesapeake. After many minutes of back and forth I was informed my mother was sent to Delaware!!!!!! No one called to ask if that was ok or to even inform me! And now I get nothing but excuses! And even worse, they didn't even get her to the hospital in Delaware until about 8 am Sunday! When I called back after confirming she was really in Delaware I couldn't get any answers as to why this was done without informing me, her point of contact and listed person for making choices if she's medicated, which she is! Now I'm waiting on 2 hospitals for answers and one of them is in a different state!!!!!! Unacceptable!
