Nice place in downtown Culver City. Good Italian style food. Like the pizza crust but the toppings were poor. Anyway, it s good even next day.
Love the tiramisu and the gelato. Ask for samples before to order. Love Romeo and Juliet gelato with cherries, the pistachio is also very good.
This place is good for dinner or just for desert and cocktail.

I like Italian food but I was disappointed with this place. I tried a panini and some pasta. I definitely don't think it's worth the price.

The only thing I did enjoy was the gelato. It comes in a large container.

Edit:
I gave them another shot and tried their Pizza Ugo. Had practically no sauce at all and wasn't very good. The ingredients were definitely processed and not fresh.

For dinner, this place is just ok. Service is hit or miss. Pasta is decent but overpriced. Dessert options are great, so maybe come just for that? Brunch, however, is something I would completely avoid. Terrible options, they don't even have coffee but instead push you into getting an Americano because that's the closest thing. My salmon and cream cheese bagel was pathetic for the price. Never again.

Their gelato is to die for! I absolutely love this place from the moment I looked at it walking down the street. It's beautiful inside and out. I only had gelato when I went and they had so many yummy looking options. I will definitely be going there again. I had mint chocolate chip, which was amazing!!!

Highly recommend this place. Delish!

Went there on a monday, super slow service even though the place was not busy at all. I got the crab pasta, it was whatever. Every body elses dish was below par. Wont go there ever again.
Dessert was good though.

I was aware of the deserts before I went but not a full food menu. Pizzas we're pretty good. Decent bar, especially for a place you're not expecting to have one. Staff was extremely friendly. Their desert are great.

My wife and I love this place! We have come here several times on dates, and the food and the service never disappoint. The tables & chairs are kinda small though authentic European I suppose. It's too pricey to come here often... but too good to neglect for long!

Had not been there for a while, had to ask for bread and the oil and vinegar dip, got one basket of bread and one dish of the dip for a table of 8 and then had to pay for a second basket of bread. Waitress wasn't to interested in how we were doing.

We ordered the cioppino, and some dipping sauce with the bread (forgot the name) and some penne pasta for the kids. The Cioppino was really good and worth the hype. The dipping sauce thing was awesome too. Recommend this place if you are looking for Italian food.

Amazing! All the flavors in everything play nice with each other. What I mean is when they waltz together.... they do so without stepping on each others toes. I recommend the figo pizza. (See description in pic). Its insanely delicious. It may seem like something outside your typical flavor comfort zone but you will be delightfully surprised. Services is great. Parking's meh...but this experience is totally worth the effort. The lunch menu is excellent and fairly priced.

The food and ambience is great. Although a bit on the pricy end (it's in the heart of Culver City, so duh!), the food is delicious. They had a wide variety of deserts too and if you want pleasant surprises, visit after 5 pm on Mondays!

Pizza is decent, don't be fooled by the atmosphere. The cost does not reflect the quality of the food. Service was probably the lowest point of the experience, to the point where we were genuinely curious if the waitress was having a really bad day. The best way I could describe it was as though every employee had massive stage fright. They all spoke very softly, never made eye contact, and engaged as little as possible. I can't say I'll be going back. But hey, they did have a Buy-one-get-one free offer for pizza. That really seemed to diminish the facade that they were a resturaunt of any quality/luxury.

What a hole trying to be a tony Italian restaurant...

What a hole trying to be a tony Italian restaurant. First they only serve at most three kinds of individual pasta - spaghetti, penne and shell. I am not counting rigatoni and lasagna in which the pastas are integrated into the dish.
The maitre d leads me to an outside table without asking if I want to sit outside. I tell him he should ask and then he assumes I'm having a bad day - I am then seated inside at a very wobbly table so I have to sit at another more stable one. I am asked if I want something to drink and I ask for sparkling water - the waitress tells me they have a small Pelegrino. I agree and then she brings me a large Peliegrino - because there are no smaller ones. I ask her why she made my decision for me. She defends herself by claiming that she will only charge for small.
I then notice the knife on the napkin is badly spotted, so I ask for a clean one. No apology just abrupt silence while she wisks it away and eventually replaces it with a clean one.
I order spaghetti with cherry tomatoes and basil.
What comes is a plate with yellowing 'cherry' tomatoes some tinged with green.
They are tasteless. When the waitress asks me if everything is ok, I point out one of the yellow cherry tomato facsimiles - and she leaves in abrupt slience.
Ugo is a low class sloppy excuse for an authentic Italian restaurant.
If you want fine dining - avoid it at all costs.

Very annoying for an Italian restaurant that serves pizza not to substitute the topings. Overall mediocre food. And ice cream that they claim it's very good I had much better. I won't recommend and eat there again

This place is disgusting. The service took literally over an hour to get our horrible meal. The lasagna was Gross for 24 bucks the pizza was soggy & the waitress said "it supposed to be like that, it is the style." then she said I gave you a discount (which was the 50% off that they had a sign for.) Save your money eat anyplace but here!!!

I got seated at 7:41pm. It is currently 8:37pm. And people who have ordered and were seated AFTER my party received their drinks, bread, and meals BEFORE my party. The waiter? Don t even know if they exist, because I haven t seen them. THE WORST EXPERIENCE AND SERVICE. Not to mention that we had reservations! So, I asked to speak to the manager who didn t even try service recovery, asked me if I wanted a drink and said she d bring a drink menu... NEVER got it. I asked for butter for the bread.... NEVER got it. Why would the server be any good if the manager can t even do proper service recovery?

The owner is extremely friendly and mingles with guests. Currently doing a 50% off menu as owner really wants people to have an escape from COVID. Restaurant atmosphere was cozy with lovely patio. Bread is amazing! Only suggestion I would give is there wasn t enough sauce with risotto and lasagna.

Amazing place.

Amazing place.
The wife and I walked by one morning and saw the place but didn't go in because they hadn't opened yet, but the second time we were by the host started chatting us up as we looked at a menu. He was kind and very personable, which swayed us to go and eat there.
The food there was fantastic, we had a pizza, some sandwich and desserts. Lots of desserts.
Everything was fantastic, the price point is great, and the staff is just wonderful.
Highly recommended, go here.

There must have been something going on, because this place took forever to get the order to the table. I dont want to bash Ugo, mainly because there isnt an amusing story to go with the bashing... so...

The Good:
- The deep fried squash blossoms were tasty, and was the best dish of the meal.
- The gelato in the case was really good

The Un-Good:
- The Pasquale Panizzi thing was like a marinara meatball pita. Pretty weird.
- Sorry... calimari wasn't anything special.
- Cold bread took forever to get to the table.

Spinach ravioli was really greasy - didn't look or taste like olive oil and they looked like they were fried on pan rather than boiled in water. (???) Also, you get 5 raviolis for $15. My partner had the chicken piccata which actually looked good - but potatoes were soggy and veggies not soft.

Facility was nice and clean. Stuff was supper friendly.
Food is mediocre. Meatballs were cold inside, salad over seasoned with super strong vinegar taste. I would recommend only pizza to eat from this place.

I am very disappointed with this place. The pizza used to be good. It used to taste like a Neapolitan pizza, but not anymore. I used to eat often at this location because the pizza remind me of Italy. But the last time that went back after a few months of being absent I noticed that the pizza had no flavor, specially the sauce. I ordered my favorite pizza, pizza picante. It was not piccante at all. I was so disappointed when I took the first bite because it had no flavor at all.
They should change the name of the pizza from Piccante to Flavorless. Now I have to look for another Neapolitan pizza in L.A.

The service wasn't good. We waited for someone to seat us but no-one came, so we went in found a table and after few minutes someone came and moved to a different table not sure why, which wasn't nice at all.

Unfortunately, we were very dissatisfied with the service and quality of the food. The service not attentative one bit and seemed upset to be working in general. I cannot speak to all their service and food, but our experience was mediocre at best.

We ordered a margherita pizza and a small side salad. The salad was fresh but had an insane amount of salt and vinegar that it was practicily inedible. The pizza dough was cooked very well and had great taste, however the sauce was watery, very little cheese that was not distributed evenly, and 3 small pieces of basil that was not fresh. The desert looked good, but with such dissappointment we did not even bother.

We may give the place another chance, but it definitely will not be for awhile. I think you can get better quality and service for the same price elsewhere.

My nephews told me about this place and I'm so happy we came here!!! They have very few flavored but they have them on rotation. We were able to try and sample them. I got the melon with tajin. We also got the captain crunch mixed with Thai tea. We also got them in the charcoal cones which was surprisingly tasty. I'm glad it didn't get soggy like most waffle cones.

Glad I tried this place before I saw the reviews because I probably wouldn't have gone. I'm one that takes reviews seriously. Anyhow, I had a pasta dish w/prosciutto that was prepared in a big wooden bowl at my table. It was $30 but uh soo delicious! Everyone was super friendly, customer service was A-1. I will definitely go back. Also, my niece had a dish with gnocchi. She loved her dish as well. I gave it 4 stars because $30 is kinda pricey for a cafe.

Ordered delivery, estimated 35-45 minutes, order was not ready to leave the restaurant for an hour? Called to find out the status after 45 minutes and was answered with a please hol... and then 5 minutes of silence, I didn t even know if I called the right place, called back 5 minutes later and was answered by a much nicer woman who still had to put me on hold, I never was able to speak with someone. Then the order arrived, one entree was room temperature, disgustingly small proportion for 19 dollars, and soaked in oil, both deserts ordered were completely incorrect.
the pasta was tasty itself but everything else was an absolute mess.
For a 60 dollar order of 2 pasta entrees without any bread and 2 deserts I will gladly never be giving my money to this restaurant and will be doing all I can to get my money back through the delivery service.
Not recommended, for the price there are far better Italian style restaurants offering much better food in the direct area
