No reason to enroll in this school

No reason to enroll in this school if you are an international student. UCLA Extension began to impose very high tuition fees on international students.
With these inflated costs, students are better served attending a community college or university, whose diplomas have a lot more weight than a certificate. The school has been in business for decades and these fees did not exist before.

Went there to take a proctored exam. Cashier and proctor were really friendly. A staff saw me studying on the floor near an outlet and was really nice to me. Right across from an in n out! So overall pretty good.

Perform your language education at UCLA university campus. The school located on the sunset is like a wonderland. In cities where transportation will not be easy, dormitory accommodation is recommended. Thus, transportation to the school will be easier. Schools pay attention to the distance and areas that can be reached by public transportation. Those who will participate in long-term programs are also recommended to buy a car in some cities.

First, my transcript was missing the number of units for one of my classes, which took over a week to fix. Second, I ordered my transcript on 5/14 and it was mailed on 5/25. It took almost 10 days for someone to print out a transcript and mail it! That's insane!! Not to mention it cost me $15. LACCD transcripts were only $2 and it was mailed and received within a week.

I don't like this place at all. It's like half the employees don't want to be there, and they'll let you know it, and the other half is a bunch of uber passive aggressive corporate types. Yay.

UCLA Extension has shown themselves to be incredibly disappointing in how they support their students (they don't). With the recent administration ruling, which threatened international students' stay in the states, this institution has given students zero productive updates and guidelines. Nothing on their website. Nothing on their social media. They did not reach out to their students to show any solidarity in this very difficult and scary time. Avoid this place if you can especially if you're a student planning to study abroad. Just by their lack of response /especially/ during a time as difficult as this, they will not support you if anything else comes up. If you're looking for a school that cares about you and your education, and not just your money, THIS ISN'T IT. Find a school that cares.

Good instructors, but they need to be trained how to teach online. You simply can't tell students to buy the book, and then leave them on their own to learn. The only time the instructor responded was via email-- no online discussions, materials, or webinars. I'd give them five stars if they could only make the courses more interactive.

Love their writing program (film/TV). The teachers are so much more experienced - writers for the Last Ship, Toy Story 2, Blades of Glory, SNL - these were just a couple of my instructors. Whoever's recruiting for these guys, they're doing a phenomenal job.

Costs a ton though, and online courses are almost the exact same price.

Staff and administration here feel very entitled and snobby, plus not respectful of people who come here to inquire about certificates and courses. They all look like they don't want to work here, and they even whine, including the janitors / cleaning people. Instead of cleaning they just talk and talk in their Spanish, and ignore you and ignore their cleaning duties. Administration for some certificates made me feel like you should have to have a lot of money to earn the certificates, which are not even university degrees. Look somewhere else!

This is the closest you'll get to the UCLA undergraduate experience without being an actual UCLA undergrad student. Some of the courses offered are on the main campus but the professors are not as accomplished as tenured UCLA instructors that teach regular undergrad courses. Also, classes can be relatively expensive when taken through the Extension program. Their LSAT prep course, however, is much cheaper than other competing prep courses, though not as comprehensive.

International Student Office review only - TERRIBL...

International Student Office review only - TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE. People here don't seem like they want to work here - some woman answers the phone everytime and everytime there are different answers to the same question. They take on average 3 weeks to process documents and are simply very very inefficient. When you call them, they can't help you either because everyone has a different answer to their questions. for international students coming in - it's not as easy as walking over from the next block, they have to book tickets, get VISA stuff and so many more logistics that don't happen if your office is not willing to have prompt and polite customer service. Truly terrible working with these guys - hope the actual school is better than this.

PROS:

PROS:
-Nearly all of courses are open enrollment, which makes it very easy to enroll.
-There is a range of classes and many of them are offered both online and on campus.
-The staff are very friendly and helpful.
-The refunds department is very helpful.
-Enrollment is easy to work with.
-Certificate programs can be more applicable to real world than some undergrad degrees

Neutral:
-There is a clear distinction between UCLA and UCLA Extension.

Cons:
-No student ID cards are issued to extension students
-Generally excluded from using library, recreational activities, some other resources that require a student ID.
-You do not get a student email account
-The extension parking permits are only usable after 4:30pm, so if you perhaps find yourself at the school to meet with your professor or student services earlier in the day, you will need to find another parking option.
-The Data Science Intensive program is not worth the money. You will likely need to Google all your coursework and homework.

Having the opportunity to go to UCLA Extension has already given me the blessing to learn from experienced professors, and also to acquire their academic background from the best universities in the country. It is a dream come true to be able to develop my critical thinking and to learn the American culture and their successful performance in marketing.
