Should change their name from Division Of Career Pathways to We Don't Really Care About Your Career. Just months after I graduated I contact them because I just needed one signature for an amazing opportunity I got. I thought a signature would not be a problem to get but when I contacted them the response I got was that I am not a student anymore and that they will not sign the paper. After contacting three different offices on campus trying to get just ONE signature on a piece of paper they all gave me the same answer. Now I see how much of a lie school is. You're told to go to a 4 year college and work your butt so that after you graduate you can have an easier time getting opportunities. Nice to know instead of making it easier to get an opportunity they make it impossible. Thank you Jason Wall and Marydale Leonard, I will always remember you two for being the reason I missed out on an opportunity of a lifetime. I really hope you guys treat your loved ones better than you treat UCI students.
They make everything so complicated, I was initially told that the career center was on a walk-in basis only. This is very inconvenient for people who can't be on campus everyday to see if they can be helped. On top of this, they close early at 2:00 or 3:00pm. I eventually complained and was told that I can make an appointment through the handshake website. They often can't answer my questions anyway and refer me somewhere else. The only things I've gotten help with are the basics; resume, mock interviews, and planning for graduate school.
