First off I am so glad that I attended this school, no regrets except for I wish I could've done more. The faculty and staff are generally awesome. The classes are a reasonable size for each subject. The campus is beautiful and the atmosphere is welcoming. It's a peaceful place in some parts and other parts are lively and inviting. The library is the BEST! Personal work spaces for groups and the top floor to the northeast side is sooo quiet, you'll find people sleeping or quietly studying. Did I mention you can eat in this library?! The housing is getting better and better. Such an amazing campus! Go Bobcats!

Oh my gosh, where to begin. The amount of involvement the faculty and student body have for their students is outstanding. CAPS counselors are there, attentive to your needs, and a great resource for other resources within the university. The health center and CAPS both take great care of their students by follow up phone calls and emails to remind you of your next appointment. Miss an appointment? Expect 5 phone calls, a few emails, possibly even a text message, lol. Faculty, unlike other UC professors who only care about research, give time to their students. Yes, attendance is a huge in this school, again unlike other UCs. As far as school work theme, be prepared for quizzes, in class participation, attendance, take home assignments, online at home participation, and exams. Yes, this school is a comprehensive institution, aimed at achieving and producing the top of the line students. Don t take the age of this school or it s high acceptance rate to be any indicator of this schools merit. Go bobcats!

Ps. Not to mention the small class sizes. Gives a private school feel.

This university has the best food of any university I have visited. I am an AVID Student, we got a tour, and our guide Donald was AMAZING! The food was ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING! I am very highly to go to this school when I go to college.

15 years since opening, the campus now has a real feeling of a university with all the new buildings, scenery, and diverse population with student, faculty and staff. This is also an amazing place for playing Pokemon GO, self sustaining location for my PoGO fanatics. ;)

Was a true pleasure to be a student here. Faculty are extremely accessible and friendly. Research opportunities and student organizations abound and are very easy to get into. Food is very good and has plenty of options for the pickiest of eaters. And (my favorite thing), the youth of the campus allows each and every student to make a significant impact on the social & scientific landscape of the institution.

It a place were you grow and learn about who you are and where you want to be in a couple of year. If you really try UC Merced education. Then it will take you places that you always want to. The view of UC Merced is unique because you come back to nature and realize that everything has a beginning. To me UC Merced is a new beginning, a place to grow and mature, a place to were you find out who you really are, and place were you find your path in life.

The University of California, Merced (UC Merced or UCM) is a public university near Merced, California. It is the tenth and newest of the University of California campuses. Most UC Merced students are from California with enrollment nearly evenly divided among Southern California, the Central Valley, and Northern California.

UC Merced claims to be the only institution in the United States whose buildings are all LEED certified. Its Triple Net Zero Commitment is expected to create zero net landfill waste and zero net greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2020

I currently attend UC Merced and will graduate in 2014 and I like this school. It may be small and in the middle of nowwhere, but that's what makes it better. Going to a smaller university is better than going to a bigger one. And also because it's still small and growing, the classes here and to get your degree is a little easier here than other the other UC's.

Great school with great professors. It is still a young campus but it is quickly finding its place and carving a name for itself. I am glad I attended this school. I received very personalized attention from my teachers and the environment was warm and comfortable for me. I huge UC would not had worked for me. My classes were challenging and I felt very prepared for the world with my knowledge and the education I received at UC Merced.

Currently the only research institution in America founded in the 21st Century, UC Merced has a beautiful campus. The rural location outside of Merced differs from most of the other urban UCs. Can't speak for the academics, but it seems like there is a good vibe here.

It may be a small campus but that's also why it's such a great place. You can easily walk through the campus at ease so you don't have to worry about getting lost or being late to classes! UCM looks wonderful during the winter season !!

We live in the Bay Area at first I was not so excited my daughter chose to go to the school even though she had better opportunities, but now I see it was an excellent choice because she comes home every weekend and if there's an emergency I know I can go visit her and see her within two hours.

Recently they have spent a lot of money building up this University, because if it is a fairly new University.

The other advantage of attending this University is that as a freshman my daughter had a chance to be project leads on some engineering projects that normally third or fourth year students only get to do in other UC's. All in all it was a great decision and I've come to love the idea of her being there.

Last Friday night I was there to visit and I truly felt safe. I'm not worried that she is going to the gym late at night or walking around or going to the library if she had to study late. There's campus police and security everywhere. Up to now, I have been very happy!

I got accepted here as a transfer as well as other Ucs up in Northern California, yet when I visited the campus I did not feel welcomed. I just saw pure freshman students, I don't think this is an option for transfers especially when there is nothing to relate upon coming from a community college. Not to mention the transfer rate to Uc Merced is extremely low it's more of a straight out of high school atmosphere, with this being said I visited the library and asked for directions towards the visitor center at the help desk, the man was obnoxiously rude he just ignored me and said look it up online. Not meeting the expectations from these reviews that everyone/faculty at Uc Merced is so nice, etc. Lastly not to mention it is so hot there, even inside buildings with "ac", yikes.

UC Merced has grown into a medium-sized research university that gives its students ample opportunity to grow, and one of these days it will have a bookstore to be proud of they have a grand plan of finishing at least a building a year for the next decade, so one day it will be a large university that covers its massive acreage.
