I ve been a loyal patient of UCD Dermatology for 13 years. Recently within the past 2 years the quality of care from this clinic has drastically declined. The Drs don t respond to messages, phone calls are not returned, and almost 98% of the staff that were good are no longer here and it shows. I use to praise this clinic but not anymore. I m stuck because I don t have anywhere else to go.
I have been having horrible allergic reactions on my face and consistent acne, acne scarring for 10+ years. I went in hope that they could help, but instead the doctor just told me to stop using all products and told me to pick up an over the counter medication for my acne. The very little instruction this physician provided was common sense, I had already done. She didn t even write the name of the over the counter medication so I have no idea what I am even supposed to be picking up. No sense of security in my diagnosis and treatment that was actually not even given to me. No discharge paperwork, they did absolutely nothing. I was the last patient of the day so i m guessing everyone just wanted to leave.
And then on top of all of this I paid a $70.00 copay up front and was charge 250.00 more in a bill after the visit. This is just infuriating, $300.00 for absolutely nothing!! She talked to me for less than 15 minutes, did not even examine my skin, forget about any extra testing that wasn t done, i didn t even get vitals. How could you be charging that much for an office visit, what are you charging for?
So extremely disappointed in the healthcare provided at this facility.. do not recommend and will not return. I really hate writing negative reviews but when it comes to something as important as healthcare, opinion of the patient matters.
I took my mom to UC Davis dermatologist and the Dr and Resident were very professional. I was SUPER impressed with the care and time they spent with my mom. I would highly recommend this clinic if you can get your MD to refer. The Dr was so very thorough in his questioning and explained the possible treatment plans we would take for mom. After a couple of years with dealing with itchy, rashes, and so much more I feel my mom is in capable hands! And finally getting on the road to recovery Thank you
Drs. Hwang, Farahnik and Brassard have been fantastic! Their knowledge of my mother's rare condition has been indispensable. They truly are rockstars. Warm, caring and thorough. Super happy with this group.
After waiting for over 45 minutes; I finally saw Dr. Tartar for the first and last time. If one takes a moment to read Dr. Tartar's curriculum-vitae one can see she is a brilliant and successful young Dr. However, her stated philosophy-of-care doesn't translate to the experience I had....
I felt like a blip on her radar. She was so teaching-focused that I felt that I could have been a spot on the carpet for all the sensitivity she exhibited during the appointment. She swept into the room and examined me quickly. I believe she said 3 sentences to me perfunctorily and left, with her students swarming after her like so many eager bees. Sensitivity in care? Not so much! I will find a new dermatologist who isn't racing through his/her appointments and is aware that her patients aren't lab-rats.
