Good experience, the nurses , techs were amazing and helpful . More activities then other inpatient hospitals . The food was either a hit or miss.

My sister did not have a good experience here. She stayed in this facility for four weeks five years ago. They couldn t accurately diagnose her and they were giving her medication for something she doesn t have. The doctor also said that my sister wasn t going to get better. That s not something that a doctor should be telling the patients family. It s more of a making money off your stay here than helping you out.
My sister eventually got better when we took her out of this place. We did out patient therapy with a doctor not affiliated with this place.
Mama Kathy and Mr braylon were some of the best staff of course this was back in 2010 maybe 2011-2014 ish
I want to say first the techs and the nurses I had were WONDERFUL & the food was way better than I expected. Was thinking grey mush honestly.
That was was good now the bad...
I was in NO shape to sign or even read the paperwork I was asked to sign when admitted. They made sure the important ones I scribbled on but the other paperwork they wrote patient unable to complete.
I was there for 8 days, insurance approved 7, and after talking with a few staff members and voicing my concerns that I was only there that long for them to bleed my insurance dry. They did not need to say a word, their face said it all. That's the angle for this place... insurance money.
You see a Dr during the week for 10 minutes max. I told them several times I was good and wanted to leave but was continually told no. If you sign an AMA a sheriff will pick you up, the courts will get involved and you're forced to stay. This is the deterrent for not checking yourself out, insurance money remember.
You sit in a day room from 6:30am to 10:00pm unless your techs/nurses are nice and let you nap in your room which we were told is not allowed but they let us. There are two 'groups' per day. The first is more for talking and the second one is more like crafts/coloring for adults. If you want to feel like a 3 year old this is your spot.
Adult meals are at 7:30am, 11am & 4 or 4:30pm. You get 30 minutes in the morning in the gym and an hour in the afternoon.
Overall I got a prescription change and a referral for a therapist. This will be a VERY expensive prescription and referral.
My honest opinion is STAY AWAY and save yourself the money and stress you will be under from constant lockup. I call this place a bougie prison.
After seeing the reviews, I was terrified when my sister was admitted there. However, she has had the exact opposite experience. They welcomed her with open arms and are doing everything they can. I am so thankful that they are able to be there for her. Every staff member I have spoken with on the phone has been very polite.
This place is so backwards horrible don't know where in heck the nurses, doctors and so call therapist they have here. My son was a patient for two days he hasn't been on his medication in over a yr and some months due to a lot from MMHR being closed and not having medications for the patients the Doctor Mr. Gary Watts which may didn't take no time with him to see the treatment he needed. Please this place need to be revamped what the heck are they doing.
I am traumatized from UBH, I went back in 2012 or 2013 voluntarily due to depression and it was one of the worst decisions of my life. I went asking for help then got locked up like a caged rat, had to be released through the courts because I couldn t speak with anyone after such a traumatic experience. 0 stars in my book if you are coming for voluntary help and don t mind living in a dorm style room
Honestly not sure why the reviews are so bad, this places saved and changed my life. The techs, nurses, therapists and even patients in the trauma unit feels like a family and are incredible pieces of the recovery process. I would recommend this facility to anyone I know seeking mental help!!
There's so much I want to say but would like to keep my treatment private. I had another review several weeks ago but have been hospitalized with them again since my previous review. They only want the best for their people. Just to name a few.. Mrs. Holly, Haven and Nurse Shelby had a HUGE impact on me. You could tell they were not there just to "have a paycheck". There are so many more I would love to name. All the staff worked so hard helping me get back on my feet. Thank you all so much for caring for me and getting me back on track. I know I still have a long journey ahead.. the least I can do is thank you.
was referred to this place to stay at the trauma dept. was the worst nightmare of my life. Put on ward called PICU after being lied too. Dr. talked to be for about 5 seconds a day claiming he would get me to trauma unit next day, never happened. Fights broke out, noise, bugs, broken down facility, paint chipping off the walls. Some staff nice some curse you out. Dont send anyone you love there. Not unless you can guarantee the trauma dept. Dr .Watts is the worse. Dr. Roscos is the best.
