I highly recommend LSLAP! They helped me a lot to resolve my conflict between previous employer and me. Espically Ms. Park was amazing. To resolve the issue, she became my representative, translator and laywer etc. The members of lslap are students but I think their passion for clients is same as or more than real lawyers .

I was impressed by the attention to detail, and the professional manner of Steven Nguyen & Sabrina Chang. Consequently i had full confidence in their handling of my affairs. This legal advice was very helpful for me, and much appreciated.

2nd time using this service. A charge was brought from the city of Vancouver against my aunt who hasn t done anything wrong and could barely speak a word of English. It is a terrible feeling being broke and have no knowledge of the law. She was at the mercy of whatever charges that they brought against her. Luckily there is society like this that helps people like us to have a voice in the courtroom. Our lawyer was Lindsay Frame. Truly professional, well-trained and articulate. The crown was unreasonable at first but Lindsay helped us to negotiate a favourable outcome for my aunt. Definitely 5 stars.

I worked with 2 students from LSLAP between June 2020 and November 2020. The first student was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and professional. His contract was over in August 2020 and a new student was assigned to my case. The new student was acting as a professional lawyer from day one. The case was to have the Residential Tenancy Branch order a government rental subsidy back. This student told the arbitrator that she does not have the authority to order the subsidy back. The arbitrator ruled for the landlord and my family was evicted. After the hearing I asked her why did you tell the arbitrator that she does not have the authority to order the subsidy back; her response was incoherent and sounded like a guilty child not wanting to admit they made a mistake.

She made spelling mistakes in legal submissions. She messed up the dates of events. She took everything out of context. It was a disaster.

It is unfortunate how this lawyer wanna be got a family evicted from their home and showed no remorse for it.

The law students are very helpful! It is clear that some other ungrateful clients don't recognize that students are very busy and have other obligations and timelines, and as I understand it, LSLAP is a volunteer program. Talk about ungrateful.

The help I received was thorough, and the student assured me that all his work was reviewd with a supervising lawyer. I had a very good experience with this program, clearly others have unreasonably high expectations for a free, volunteer program for those who can't afford legal help.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The law student I met with was unprofessional and unhelpful. The only help he provided me was essentially a copy and pasted document of how to prepare for a conference such as how to address the judge and what to wear. This even took him over a week to produce. All this experience has shown me is that anyone can be a lawyer if you are willing to Assume student loans.
