They had a free family day where we met some friends and had our kids meet up and have a wonderful day. There were so many people there, but we were able to do everything the kids wanted to do. It was fun, informative, and kept the kids' attention (which is hard to do these days). It's such a clean place, from the bathrooms to the displays, and everything in between. The kids had a blast (pun intended)

This is a really fun thing to do in Huntsville. I HIGHLY recommend the bus tour. A lot of people don't know about the bus tour but they should. It takes a good while but its worth every penny.

Wonderful Experience!

Wonderful Experience!

Would highly recommend going especially now! We went on 8/5/2020 and there and it was almost completely empty. So if you are afraid of the social distancing thing, you going to be just fine. I think there were more cars from workers than guests. I counted about 20 cars in the lot when we arrived at open. No change when we came out at lunch or when we left in the afternoon.

The workers were all very nice and happy to answer questions.
Please go, buy things and have fun!

On a side note, they are really struggling for cash to keep the operations going, so please go visit and support this amazing place!

Also, we camped near by and it was also mostly empty. Hiking trails were empty. Essentially, you can go and have a great time and not worry about social distancing at all. Beautiful hiking. All around, fantastic trip.
Just watch out for the couple random speed traps as you get close. They almost got us in a speed zone where the speed limit dropped for no reason other than generate income from tourists. We support the police, just prefer paying their salaries via taxes.

Really interesting! We took a group of about 15 young kids, teens, and adults there and they all seemed to enjoy it very much. They have not only visual displays, but also interactive displays and also informative films. Overall, really great!

If anything, it's like a child's learning facility.
However, the command module of Saturn V type and Apollo 11, the corner exhibited by Skylab, is impressive and impressive.
This is a plan realized 50 years ago, I think that the United States which built up precise mechanisms, made this big one, launched successfully and succeeded successfully is really amazing.
Another corner was the disappointing theme park.

This is simply a must see museum/learning complex.
They have a very robust history of rockets as you would expect plus many interactive exhibits.
My family spent 4 hours here.
We ate at the cafeteria which has decent food.
Probably the most impressive are the they Saturn V rockets one of which is most prominent and visible from the freeway. It was repainted in the last few weeks and is stunning.

Going to this place was great! It was also very informative and interesting. It has a couple of small places where kids can go, a rock wall, and a NASA tour of space ships. It also has 2 types of space camps; 1 for kids and 1 for teens. The staff are also very kind.

This was a great experience. You can definitely spend hours in here. It is free for active duty members, so big thanks there! I went early in the morning as to beat huge crowds, the crowds were starting to pick up as I was leaving.

Always a treat. Had been years since I've been there, and my wife never had as we're not local anymore. Was very clean and the exhibits are still awesome with good reading and learning opportunities. Chinook on display was extra for me as I used to work on them. Still love it.

Very interesting place to visit; adults & kids all enjoyed learning about the history of US Space exploration. You can go through everything at your own pace & there were interactive exhibits for the kids.

Always love the Space and Rocket Center. They have a new Planetarium experience. We spent about $47 for all of us and were not impressed. We are hoping that it was the movie that we saw. Will go back again soon and see a different one. Will update this review afterwards.

Great place in all respects especially if you have a reciprocal membership with your hometown museum. Admission also includes a few unlimited rides like a gravitron and drop tower, climbing wall, and motion theater ride. Small kids play area also. Fun for all ages, well maintained. Just great!

Great place for a field trip/ family fun day! We arrived as soon as it was open and stayed till it was closed and still didn t get to do/see everything. Other than the museum, we recommend to get a tour on base as well. The movie is also a good addition.

If you didn't live through the Space Race (as I did) then you will be fascinated by all their exhibits. There is a lot of walking and many stairs. Also, call ahead to see if Space Camp is happening, if it is, you may experience parts of the exhibits that are closed. Since some of the rides (2) are outside, you will want to check the weather before arriving. The iMAX films are ok, but the theater seems VERY cramped because the seating is on so steep of an incline that it feels like you're sitting on a ladder. They are also not included in the price of admission. You will want to have plenty of money if you want a snack. Vending machines sell water or soft drinks for $2.50 and a small bag of dipping dots for $4.00. As I stated at the beginning, if you remember the space race, you will not experience anything new. In fact, you may even find that the rather high price is not worth it.

Our family celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing by visiting the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The center was packed as it was also the start of space camp. We also enjoyed the historic Apollo 11 presentation in the planetarium.

Not only did we have an incredible tour guide named Wendy, but our Girl Scout troop had such a fun experience with all the hands on exhibits and rides. We were there the entire day and still didn't get a chance to see everything. Thank you, Wendy, for your patience with the girls, your knowledge in answering our many questions and your time. You went above and beyond and it was very much appreciated. All in all a positive experience that i will do again.

I was very disappointed when the cost to get in is $25 per person to get into the museum. I saw better quality displays and rockets at the National Air and Space Museum in DC. This is a great place for kids, it has a lot of hands on interactive areas for kids to learn about space exploration.

Amazing museum with authentic items from space. Take the bus tour, it is worth it. My tour guide was very knowledgeable and charismatic. Note that you must be a US citizen with a government-issue ID to go on the tour.
