I went the last week to the interview, the agent denied to gave me a visa saying that she s not satisfied and she's not sure that i will return to canada. Knowing that i have a work permit untill 2022

Good small embassy. They should let people enter sooner but because its small, i think they r nervous. Standing out in cold is not good though

Searching for what need the website they sent didn't work right had to look another way but could get me close to were need to be bad about what part was not good a location look up,check should be done at the website because searching the embassy web site that was sent from them issues.

I like the design of this building. Mine you, the security is like Fort Knox.

I was refused in visa, and the visa officer even didn't wish to look into my documents and evidence of my short stay in usa. My parents are PR of Canada and I help my mom cause she doesn't know English and we are looking for a house in Canada, and my father is a truck driver and he travels 3 times per week to USA. I just wished to go to a church conference cause it was important for me cause I have faith and wanted to get in touch with the latter day saints from the conference for my healing and for sharing the Gospel with my parents through the conference messages from important for the church people from there. My mom was accepted in a visa just because she has PR. But my nationality and circumstances were taken in vain.

worst service.. i came all the way from toronto to pick up my passport at 3:40pm and they refused to gave .. asked me to come back monday between 3pm - 3:30 pm, i talked to security guards and one of staff member they were very rude and asked me to leave

I want to know if the consulate is near the Toronto bus terminal

Good experience. I apply for travel visa, have an interview appointment at 9 am in the morning. keep in mind don't come too early otherwise you have to wait outside (usually come 15 mins before your appointment). The whole process takes about 40 mins. The VOs are all very nice.

Did not actually visit inside. It was part of our walk in the capital area. Very nice looking building and on a nice piece of real estate. They did a nice job of making the secure area still look good and blend with the area.

Some will make it sound awful. It's the security of a country they shouldn't allow whoever. They were formal with us but to an acceptable level in the west country. If you're not from their culture, you'll find it dry, and rude. Don't take it personal. It's a security check. Be normal, Good listener, relax they won't bite you, don't be nervous, and don't bring large hand bags with you. Good luck on your visit.

I really hated their service.they are not like human..they we're just behaving as racist..I am really sad about my experience..they don't even ask any question..my experience was so pathetic..I gave zero out of hundred

Very quick, the clerks were patient and friendly and the corndog poster about killed me.

Went there today to apply for a VISA. The whole process was very smooth. The security and staff were all kind and helpful. The entire wait/interview took about an hour (much shorter than I expected) and the officers were professional and respectful. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.

One of the best embassy I have seen. Friendly and properly guiding staff.

I contacted them via email in regards to what route I should take to get my mother a visa (as recommended by an immigration lawyer). I got a response of a copy/paste from the website with no clear indication of what route we should take. call me crazy, but I'd rather know upfront what route to take before handing over almost $500 dollars to apply.

Unprofessional consular officer and raccism,as well as not giving you the reason why you are refused. Just telling me you are refused and then saying next to person behind me.

Rude! The staff treat you as if they're a colonial governor

I went yesterday everything was smooth until I reached the interview step, the officer didn t grant me a visa saying that she s not satisfied with the ties outside us. Knowing that I am a permanent resident of Canada and holding a Canadian travel document with a permanent job .. she had no valid convincing reason.. although Ppl who holds green card are able to enter Canada without a visa

I have recently visited this embassy for Visa renewal. The experience is really good. I had a problem with my credit card and the staff was kind enough for me to get alternate arrangements. I have to be thankful to them and on that day I have experienced the real human kindness of people of Canada.

illiterate staff don't know to behave like humans. really bad stuff nobody should go there treat like Prisoners

The guards were very rude to me. I don't think I'll ever set food in the United States again if this is the kind of welcome it get!

Although most of the staff were very nice, the clerk doing the visa interview was VERY RUDE, which is not expected from such a well-known country.

I like the idea of public communication but, I am still learning how to navigate site

I had an interview last year, I was reading the reviews and felt anxious. So Iong story short, I went for my appointment, it was at 8:00am I came around 7am an hour earlier, I had everything ( documentary) prepared in an envelope, also left my cellphone in the hotel and was the first to line up outside the embassy. It was a very cold snowing morning in January so be prepared. Anyways, everything thanks god went smoothly. The officer opened the door at exactly 8 and I went through the security process so did the other people that were there. Just followed instructions and I waited until they called my name and successfully got my visa ( K1) ! They were all respectful and very professional. Just be prepared basically! Good luck everyone :)

The US is the best and only neighbor country that Canada have.

Over the years, we have had consistently great service with the staff of the consular section of the Embassy of the USA. They are always a great help in person, by mail, or on the phone.

Easily the ugliest building in Ottawa. This concrete eyesore broadcasts a full bunker mentality and was plunked down over one of the best views in Ottawa without any respect to its surroundings or the people of Ottawa.

The sooner it gets removed, the better.

Very ugly. Eyesore on my city! Conflicts with the neo-gothic architecture of the nearby buildings!
