I was there Dec 31st. No one else in ER. I had a massive migraine that was a 9-10 in pain scale. No joke I truly thought I was gonna die that night. I got to the hospital at midnight. The doctor didn't come to see me until 2:30 am. My medicine didn't come to me for another 45 minutes. I was released after 3:45am. I will never go back. Never.

Been sitting in here for 4 hours. They told me I need stitches hours ago and I'm still just sitting here
Edit: 5 hours and counting, sitting here with an open wound.
Edit 2: 6 hours, still sitting here with an open wound. Was told I needed stitches 4 hours ago, but I guess I don't need them that bad BECAUSE THEY AREN'T STITCHING ME
Edit 3: I left, went to a pharmacy, bought some butterfly closures, and did it myself. It's going to scar even worse now because they had me sitting there with an open wound without treatment for hours.
2 years ago, I got into an accident on a motorcycle and cut open my hand. My daughter drove me to this hospital and they took me in right away. They took super great care of me and we're so kind. But, the reason I'm giving three stars is because my bill was $14,000 roughly and that's with medical insurance. I got stitches... Why would that be that much money? Hospitals are ridiculous....
I recently had a family member admitted to ICU for double pneumonia. The lack of knowledge is quite concerning. He was placed on life support and each nurse had no information about his condition or prognosis. Many of the nurses were not patient, and they were not fond of family members staying with their loved ones. Mainly because we were on top of things. Never did I see a doctor, and was basically asked to stop coming to see him so frequently. In my experience within the medical field, people NEEd their loved ones support to recover. For the staff to neglect this patient from family contact due to the inconvenience of their duties is awful. Retrain your staff! Or get sued.
This is the second time I have went to Twin County in the past year in a half with chronic pancreatitis. The first time was a complete disaster, negligent behavior from the staff, as you can see from attached photos. After being there a week I was in worse shape than I arrived. I went back Sunday with the same symptoms and was sent home after 3 hours in the ER and was completely disregarded. My symptoms continued to get worse so I went to a different hospital three hours later and upon arrival I was put in intensive care unit for two days, and spent another four days at that hospital to recover from Twin Counties negligence. I have a malpractice suit filed against them from the first visit and they still turned my debt over to their own debt collection agency which they assured me they would not do but they did which is another crime. If you want to live do not go to this hospital. I would have given a zero star rating but it is not allowed.
I chose 3 stars because I think your experience with this hospital solely depends on who you get providing your services at that time. I have had to interact with this hospital on several occasions and my experiences have ranged from 1 star experiences to 5 star experiences. The ER , I hate to say is one of the worst I've ever been to and that is specifically due to the Doctors alone ! I have been missing diagnosed TWICE now ! Once several years ago when I was experiencing severe abdominal pain. I was seen and sent home 3 times with not only no answers, but nothing for the pain. I was told it was gas ! I finally went to the ER in Mount Airy and was admitted immediately to have my gall bladder removed. And just a month ago was misdiagnosed again with severe pain in my hip / groin area and unable to walk . No blood work or imaging tests were done at all ! I was looked at for no more than a few minutes by the doctor and diagnosed with sciatica and given 3 shots. One was a steroid, one a anti-inflammatory and one I cant recall. It stopped the excruciating pain and I was able to walk again for ONE day and it all returned 10x worse the next day. I went to wake forest babtist ER and was admitted immediately for emergency surgery on my hip as I had a severe infection in my hip joint ! A life threatening and or limb loss threat that was completely missed due to the unprofessionalism of the Doctor on call the night I went there !! On the other hand though I have had exceptional experiences as well ! They are amazing when dealing with migraines ! I have also had to have out patient services with having cortisone shots in my lower back via epidural. All the staff and doctors during that experience were truly amazing and professional ! And recently after my emergency hip surgery done by another , more distant hospital, Twin County Reginal handled my daily antibiotic infusions for 3 weeks. They were very efficient in getting me in and out within an hour everyday in order for me to be able to work and continue leading a normal life the best one can while having to get infusions every single day for almost an entire month ! They really worked hard to meet my needs with scheduling and working around my work schedule in order to cut down on my missed work time. So despite this hospital still needing much improvement in their ER and their on call doctor's unprofessionalism , the rest of the hospital services and staff truly are amazing !
Came in around 12am for our 6 day old child due to shortness of breath. They got us in here pretty fast, but the room was a dump. The walls were chipping, door frames were chipping. Holes in the wall. The floors were also dirty. There were medical equipment falling off the wall. Yea may seem like small things but we had a lot of waiting time in here to really look at everything. This place just seems very unprofessional. I ll be making the extra 30 minute drive to Mt.airy!
Just got out of hospital last March & they are the best. They got me up and going. Michelle was my health care nurse & i miss her visits. My therapy worker was Emily & I miss her visits too!!! Thumbs up for all the health care workers
