Went on a Monday, no crowd, no lines, staff was really friendly, but some of the better rides were down. Food was theme park price, but it was really good and big portions. Worth going as a child and at least once as an adult.

Bring your walking shoes and stick... Your going to need them on this adventure mostly up and down hill walk within the amusement park. My little one had a blast. Little pricey. (Eat before you go) refreshments are reasonable however meal... Not so much. Handicap accesible. Enjoy making some good ol' mountain memories.

Waste of time and money on July 4th

Waste of time and money on July 4th

We visited today on July 4th, most likely the busiest day of the summer and the park should know this and have better signage and more workers out in the park. My biggest complaint is that we got in line for the last train of the evening only because we couldn t get back down the mountain when the chair lift broke and took over an hour with lines to get back down. The bus line was equally as long when this happened. When we got in line for the train a few of the cowboys were out but not explaining this was the last train (which we assumed when we got in line at 8:15) or cut the line off at maximum occupancy. So we stood in line with babies, toddlers and elderly family members for another 20 minutes only to be turned away with 2 people in front of us and probably another 20 behind us. Come on Tweetsie, you can t tell me this is the first time this has happened, the workers need to be out there cutting off the line at max occupancy. So there we were with crying toddlers when we could have used that 20 minutes to eat or beat the traffic and then we couldn t get out of the line, we had to open the chain fence ourselves which the cowboys could have very well done. Many other little things we also experienced throughout the day that is just really poor planning on Tweetsie s part. There was only one ride operator for two rides so only one could function at a time. For half a Disney ticket price you would think you would get some pretty good customer service and on the busiest day of the summer you would expect better planning. I hope to speak to our Duke HR representatives about the poor customer service and reevaluating their employee discount association with Tweetsie.

We love this place! It is perfect for our three year old and my guess is that he will love it for several years to come. It is well worth getting season tickets if you live relatively close and you have young children! The staff is also very friendly, which is always a huge plus!

I am so unsure as to what to say. I took my daughter to the Thomas the train outing. Forget the oh so stereo typical Cowboys and Indians theme.... At one point in the train ride the Cowboys have a signal for everyone when the Indians come aboard. You put your hands in the air, wave them around, and scream like a girl. My little girl looked at me and said "I don't scream like that". As we got off the train she told the cowboy riding with us "I don't scream like that, must have been a little boy!"
The park was nice. All the restaurants served the same thing. The staff seemed to know nothing but it was early in the season so I expected that.

Took my kids to spend the day with Thomas Father's day weekend. We had a lot of fun. My children was able to ride everything. The deer park was very fun as was the mouse mine. It is also nice that the park has a play ground that you can just let your kids play on.

This is a fun place to bring the little ones for the day. Train rides, kid rides, petting zoo, chair lift and lots of funnel cake, cotton candy and candied apples. My grandson really got a kick out of the train ride. The staff were extra nice and helpful. I will take the family back next year.

Wonderful place for making family memories. Grandparents and parents enjoyed Tweetsie as children and now they can see their little ones experiencing the same things. It's like traveling to an era of innocence and simpler times. I'd recommend Tweetsie to anyone, of any age, with or without children. The train ride on a real steam engine that was actually a workhorse in the mountains is worth the admission.

PRICEY, but they seem to put every bit of money they make back into the look and feel of this historic place. The carnival rides are a bit sketchy and very out of place, but the high-ropes course is amazing and I hope they keep adding attractions like this (instead of carny rides from the 70s). I can't say enough about the cleanliness and pride they obviously take in the Western town.

Great day as a family of 7! Grandparents, 4 adults and an 11 month old had a wonderful day. Staff was excellent and super friendly! Really happy staff.. the most happy staff we ve ever experienced at an amusement park type setting / attraction! My stuffed burrito was great for $7.95. Would definitely return and we are considering season tickets. Train ride great - the cinders do release, so light colored clothes (khakis, whites) may get some on them. Accommodating to my son breastfeeding! Lots of great photo ops. No additional parking fee. Overall wonderful!

Tweetsie Railroad is an amazing place to go! However it may be expensive, it is still worth the price. I love to go up there with my friends and just hang out. My most recent visit was Railroad Heritage weekend and I must say, I m very impressed. They did great on the looks for 190 this year.

We went yesterday with our six year old. She had the best time. You can take in bookbags, strollers, etc. Most of the park is hilly. Although walks are short compared to Disney parks, physically challenged people may find it difficult. We rode nearly every ride and most can be ridden with parents/little kids together. Our daughter is 44 inches and we had to ride with her on most bigger rides. I am a big guy and could ride most everything with our kid. Be careful in the petting zoo. The animals will definitely nip little fingers like they did ours. There are sinks to wash hands and sanitizer to use before you leave the animals. The arcade is a poor experience. A few of the games did not work. We liked the train experience but be careful when the whistle blows because chucks of ash reign down and can get in your eyes if not careful. We closed our eyes when it happened. However, it is not as bad as it sounds. We were disappointed that the food stands had closed up a couple of hours before the parked closed. Bummer. There are press penny machines around. We found three. There is free gold panning. Yes there is real gold in it mixed in with Fools gold. It is easy to distinguish between the two but hard to find. Have a great time at this family focused park. We went on 6/11/19 and there were no lines or waiting. Parking is free!

No better place to go on the 4th of July! Greatest fireworks ever! It's a family tradition with me. I came to Tweetsie before I could remember and after I could. It was the same with my daughters, and now my grandchildren! It's a blast from the past!

This has always been a childhood favorite place of mine and I want to give my children the same. We had an awesome time today. When you can go some where like Tweetsie and have as good a time as you did 30 years ago it's a wonderful feeling, don't change a thing.

This was a fun place to go except the ticket price has gone hysterical, $50/ticket! If its gonna go up that much, at least update your rides and arcade. Also, when my husband took our daughter on the little go cart old cars, he was the last one to get on and didnt hear half of the announcements. The guy operating it sent him out first and then when he came back around he didnt even bother to stop him so he thought he was suppose to go again. Well, he stopped all the others and when my husband came back around with our daughter, he parked and got off. The guy was very rude to him, saying "Sir, you're only suppose to go around once." "My husband who was holding our daughter told him he wasnt aware of that and thought he was suppose to go again since he didnt stop him. The guy told him in a rude manner, "well, just so you know, you only go once." Okay? We didnt pay $50/person for someone to be rude to us and to make a big deal out of nothing and especially since he didnt even bother to stop him the first lap around. Also, the arcade and the prizes look like they're from the 80s. Cheap and outdated! We did enjoy the train ride and the petting zoo though but not for $50/person. We probably won't be back any time soon.

Tweetsie is one of our family's favorite places! Family-friendly entertainment for all ages, especially the younger ones. No roller coasters but plenty of carnival games, county fair type rides, go-karts, a chair lift, petting zoo, a magic show, song & dance routines and of course, a hilarious wild west show seen from aboard a super cool steam locomotive!

I absolutely love Tweetsie! The actors, the way they remember your children and make connections with them is just the best! Love them all dearly! Yes admission is expensive and the food is pricey, but it's worth it. You get happy employees and that makes it worth it! They also take care of their animals well, so as far as animal looking unkept and not treated properly... well thats someone who doesnt know much about taking care of animals! Llamas have wavy hair and they will get matted at times. I have seen employees several times patiently working with them to get them brushed. I hope to have many more years of great Tweetsie adventures!!

Fun for all seasons! Visited last Christmas and again this fall, there's just SO MUCH to do. Definitely worth a whole day's trip. Lots of things are included in the admission ticket so one doesn't have to break the buck. Food is expensive, but they have so much choice - won't be disappointed if you want to splurge. A tip: bring plenty of WATER. It's expensive to buy it and I didn't see any water fountains...Other than that, treat your family to a Tweetsie trip. We all love it!

Went here as a kid. Took kids here. Train used to be Gene Autrey's I believe and may have been in a move (not sure about that though). It gives off authentic coal smoke and soot and is really cool. When I went as a kid, cowboys came up on horses and came onto the train. I don't think they do that quite like that any more but they do have some shows as the train winds around (Indians and such). There's some bumper cars. I was always worried the bank would give way if daughter who couldn't drive too well yet hit it head on but it didn't. Also a ferris wheel and some other rides, some music with dancing girls? maybe Anyhow great time for kids say up to around 7 or 8 maybe.

It's pricey for a one day trip. Note the park closes at 6ish. If you buy a day pass after 3 o'clock, I believe, you get in free the next day.
Great amusement park for the younger kids. The park is clean, the bathrooms are clean, the staff is great!
