This is nice Italian Resturant near the State Capitol building in State Street. Its a very small dining place with a bar inside. The food is delicious here.

Delicious Italian with full volume.
When I entered, it was a great success regardless of age or gender.
Tutto Pasta is a serial winner of "Best of Madison" for Italian - and you'll see why. While not quite five-stars, this excellent Italian restaurant serves up a wide variety of high quality dishes in a comfortable upper-scale atmosphere. Combined with a decent wine menu, and you have a great date, evening out, or entertaining guests.
The service here was excellent! SUPER friendly. The food was also very good.
Good place to eat some fine Italian food. Can't complain. Thanks!
Delicious food, one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Madison, and as a native Madisonian, I have tried a great many of the incredible options this lovely city has to offer. There is a particularly amazing waiter there and he has made the dining experience most enjoyable every time we have him as a waiter. I have been going to this restaurant for more than 6 years and it continues to be a favorite.
The man who took the dishes off our table was more personable than the manager who never greeted or acknowledged me when I walked in- I found my friends on my own- the lasagna taste like chef boyardee ravioli out of a can - I'm not even exaggerating- the manager had on black t- shirt with jean shorts & dark glasses- look more like a bouncer at a club- they never brought out drinks that were ordered - never offered desert menu- we had to beg to pay our bill & leave- sum it up- food sucked- service sucked even worse
I really enjoyed the food, but let me make a suggestion in case the owner or manager reads this. Please teach your staff more about customer service and that if a guy comes in to dine alone the correct greeting isn't, "What do you want?"
Everyone there is always super nice and the food is delicious!
A taste of home. Wonderful service, lots of smiles, excellent food. Can't wait to be considered a regular here.
Nice place! Very fun for a cute date or just go there with your friends and request refills on FREE bread until you can't eat anymore. My friends and I were beyond obnoxious asking for bread and the service was awesome. If they can provide quality service to us, they will most certainly provide it for everyone.
Good pasta and pizza! Had a delicious Chocolate Martini.
I absolutely love this place. If you want homey Italian fare that's legit come here. The house sangria is exceptional. I've come here for years. The couple that runs it is super adorable. :)
Excellent food, but generally poor service.
Those are the two highlights of this State Street fixture. I have dined here on a number of occasions, usually when someone else wanted to go there. The food is always excellent. They have a number of dishes you won't find on your typical Americanized Italian menu.
However, I have rarely experienced service that exceeded mediocre. In most cases, the waitstaff are undertrained and disorganized. I have received the wrong entree or an entree not prepared per my instructions on multiple occasions. Usually they correct the problem to my satisfaction, but rarely have I been compensated for the amount of time that was wasted.
In short, if you want some excellent Italian cuisine, give Tutto Pasta a try as long as you have plenty of time. Don't go here if you have a movie or show to attend within the next two hours.
Great for a laid back date night. Service has always been friendly and quick.
Food was good. Bruschetta had good flavor, but lacked basil. Sarah Salad was special, large shrimp and fresh Strawberries. Meatball pizza was a bit dry, but nice flavor.
Service was.good, but the food wasn't that great. Very overpriced for the quality of the food
Yummy! Went there for prom and food was delicious. The fettuccini chicken was kinda dry though:(
Yum!! This food was amazing and the portions where good, ambiance was good. Quaint table seating.
I am not one to post such a critical review but my experience here was not good. This restaurant was hyped up on campus by many but fell far short of my expectations. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but what I had was terrible. My friend ordered the Vodka sauce and I ordered the Alfredo. The Alfredo was the worst I have ever had. Ever. The vodka sauce and pasta was not good either. They didn t cook off the alcohol enough and was disgusting as well. The chicken in our dishes looked and tasted like it came from a freeze and was boiled in water to be cooked. I hope the other dishes are better then the ones I had.
Outstanding service, excellent food, reasonable prices.
Very good food and service, ample portions, and appropriate prices. Bar area with a couple of TVs and a few booths. Main dining area has 2 levels, has cozy feel. Located in an old building with an old building s charm.
The only negatives: no parking lot (located on State St., so there are parking garages in the area), dining area gets pretty cold if you sit near windows when it s cold outside, and the men s bathroom looked and smelled a little dirty.
Overall, a good experience. I ve been there several times and will likely do so again.
I have eaten at Tutto's Pasta in Middleton before and have loved it so when my friends 17 birthday rolled around i suggested we go to the one on state street. We made a reservation for 10 and arrived at the restraunt and put in the basement. Our waitress took our drink orders and we were having a fine time. About 15 minutes later a larger group than us is sat. They got everything before us and left before we even had out food but not before there server broke a plate over one of the girls heads.... Our waitress only stopped in once. We told her to bring us dessert for the birthday girl and boxes for the remaining food and after 30 minutes of her not coming back, we talked to the manager. We finally got our boxes and dessert and were ready to pay and leave, when they told us they could not split the check because we were over 8 even though only 8 people had actually eaten and the other 2 has just ordered a side salad. Because we are only 17 and no one has that kind of money to pay for the whole dinner and only some people brought cash. We asked if we could have 2 people pay jointly and have the rest of the 8 split and they said no. So we finally get everything figured out and everyone has paid what they owe and we are about to leave when they tell us they forgot to but the gratuity onto the bill. We were forced to pay our horrible waitress something around 40 dollers. So after about 45 minutes we had finally paid and were allowed to leave. It was terrible. terrible. terrible and i suggest you go somewhere else.
This is a great place for a date night. And if you're a fan of pasta, this is the right place to be. Also, get whatever this is. I forgot the name, but it was delicious.
Very good food and a pretty casual experience. Pricing about what you would expect for Italian food in an area like State Street.
Great food. Gnocchi with pesto sauce is delicous. A little bit expensive and smaller portians.
A little pricey for the quality, but if you are looking for comforting Italian, this is the spot.
The best part of this restaurant is people watching out of the window. Otherwise it was just okay. Average service, uninspiring plates of pasta, and nothing we would go back for.
Tutto has been my favorite restaurant throughout my freshmen year and sophomore year (2016-2018), however, it was no longer.
I made multiple visit to the Tutto and the past two have been consistently worsen (the latest one was just yesterday).
I have noticed that not only the food now not only lacked any resemblance of proper seasoning, but it also lacked the key component of Italian food - quality ingredients.
My last two visits (the period when Tutto flipped from my favorite place to the place to the place where I look at with slight disgust), my favorite menus (Spaghetti carbonara and Farfallette Al Salmone) were all garbage.
Farfallette Al now tastes like a cheap sour tomato cream sauce tossed with undercooked onions and salty bits of smoked salmon.
Farfallette Al Salmone of the old Tutto was a balancing of many favors; the savory and creamery of the to tomato cream sauce, the sweetness of cooked onions, and the saltiness of the chunky smoked salmon.
And the most infuriating of all, was they now put into customer service. I believe this is the new restaurant owner from when Tutto was my favorite restaurant, and they have change things for the worse.
Yesterday, I was served a moist, half-toasted, bread with some olive oil and cheap balsamic vinegar dip (we know that it s cheap since it tasted as acidic and burning as that of regular white vinegar). The bread was not a panini-toasted any longer, it was just a piece of oven-baked bread with no sign of toasting after they cut them up (if you went here, now or earlier last year, you know how they serve their bread basket).
The server was not too nice as most request for anything (water, extra bread, bills) was slow. The server also gave us only a small amount of grated parmesan on our pasta (a complimentary service which was like a crown jewel of my dining experience when Tutto was a good place).
Last but not least, they now charged a 20% service charge if you came in groups larger than 4. If it was the old tutto with decent food and service, I would be happy to do so.
Overall, this restaurant ruins Italian food for me to the point where I could make a better carbonara and spend a third of that price to make one for myself.
If they do not improve, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, as it was both representing our college history and Italian food, but failed to do the later.
Pasta is pretty decent and definitely Al dente, wasn't overcooked. Menu is actually smaller than it looks. Place could use some updates
Pasta and Pizza were delicious. Service also was great. The only negatives the restroom was not clean enough.
Very good family feel Italian restaurant. Great location close to campus and capital building. Italian cheese curds with house made marinara were tasty on a cold day!
Had a real fine Sunday brunch. The salmon and filet medallion eggs Benedict were very good and $10 bottomless Bloody Mary's were yummy. Got seated right away too, a huge plus.
We are from out of town. Great food. Great people.
Fast service, Excellent food. I would highly recommend making a reservation to avoid the lines. Once seated, you are well taken care of. Many pasta Choices. Good for vegetarians & carnivore alike.
yummy food, and great atmosphere. slower times between noon and 3. had the run of the place.
Yesterday wasn't the first time I've been to this restaurant; both times here took place after going to the Overture Center/Capital Theatre. I enjoyed the food as much as I enjoyed the shows/performances! We had a terrific waitress, who was always on top, seeing how we liked the food, etc. It was nearly empty of customers, but as orders were put through and quickly served, the restaurant filled up. Tables are close together, which may cause some discomfort, but we were taken care of decently.
We found this place upon walking around downtown & we are forever thankful we did. If you re looking for real authentic Italian, look no further! From the service to the drinks to the food...everything was delicious & exceptional. We will be back!
Love coming here and sitting in the booths that look out onto State street. Food is good and I enjoy the cute guy who works up front and also behind the bar.
Though it may not look like much from the outside this is a great place to stop in for an incredible variety of award winning pasta dishes. The premeal bread was yummy too! We had great service on our visit. I thought the prices were fair as Italian normally goes.
Great food & great service as well. We have yet to have a bad meal here and recommended it to everyone!
Had lunch here, a meatball sandwich. The food was mediocre, the service even more so. Don't plan to go back.
Great service and good food and drinks! I recommend their margaritas
Pretty typical Italian food. Bread with oil and balsamic vinegar is provided. Food was good and so were portions.
Tutto pasta has some very delicious dishes, and decent staff, but the portions you get for the price you pay is kind of outrageous. On a non-busy day, our food took a long while to come out, too. I'm not dissapointed, but I expected better.
Lovely staff, small town feel for a city restaurant. Mixed up order with another customers but resolution was fair.
I sat down and met the owner. What a wonderful guy amazing selection of food and drinks would recommend to anyone!
Great pasta although the interior feels a little cramped - likely a result of it being located in an older building on State Street.
Can pasta in Madison be made as succulent as it is in the backstreets of Naples? The answer is a resounding yes! This establishment doesn t bother with the doughy kerfuffle of pies or puts on a lot of fanfare with veal chops and fish. No they stick to their core business of wheat based handmade pasta. They offer a plethora of sauces and flavors and some good salads and appetizers. The service is very fast and the value is very compelling. Large portion sizes!
Hate the small tables. Like the food. Service is good.
This was a very good meal. I had three kids with me, and each was able to find a kid's menu item that pleased them. I wasn't particularly impressed with the preparation of the kid's meals, but maybe they did it right for kids; there wasn't much waste! I had Rigatoni Nino, and the flavor was excellent, but if I'm being picky, some of the parts crossed the line from al dente to outright undercooked. It was still really tasty, though, and it's not as though I didn't clean my plate. Service was a good balance between attentiveness and letting us enjoy our meals, and the place was clean and pleasant.
I had the Farfallette al Salmone, which was absolutely, ridiculously tasty. The owner/server/whatever was funny and talkative, and the place was comfortable.
I went there with an indian friend to show him the italian food. The pastas were very dressed and tasty, well cooked and they served an huge amount of pasta... but that's not the italian way to eat pasta. Anyway the taste was good.
Don't expect to receive the best service. Food was flavorless.
Lived in Madison for years and never went inside. Some of the best pasta I had in a long time. I should have stopped in sooner
I enjoy the food at Tutto Pasta, and it can be nice place to stop before or after a show downtown. But in terms of customer service, they're not great. I ordered some food from Tutto Pasta online through EatStreet yesterday, and only 1 of the 3 items I ordered showed up. So I called the restaurant to let them know my order was incomplete, end up talking with the manager, who lets me know I would need to stop by the restaurant to get a refund for the missing items. I told him I was stuck at home with a sick kid (which is why I ordered delivery in the first place), but he still wanted me to come down to the restaurant to get the refund. How hard is it to take down my name and address and mail out the refund (or a card for an entree, or something) for the missing items?! Well, lesson learned (especially after reading some of the other reviews on here): don't bother with delivery from here.
The best food and service!! Tutto pasta signature dish is amazing!!
Always an amazing time here! I have never been disappointed with my food or service.
Amazing food as always. Will definitely take my girl back
So good
Rigatoni nino so cheesy
Also friendly staff and nice outdoor seating
Between the tutto pasta, penne salubre, and mango sangria, this place takes the cake for a quality date night
Atmosphere is lovely and food comes quickly. There are better Italian restaurants in Madison, but this one is always affordable and friendly.
Depending on the waiter, I often feel rushed here, though the waiters are often slow (compounding the problem). The staff is insincere. The tables are crowded together. But the food is pretty good and menu expansive, I think the owner means well, the outdoor dining is nice when weather permits, and prices are reasonable.
