Turning Heads spa and Salon Review

Joey has been doing my hair since I moved to Punta Gorda 5-1/2 years ago. He is awesome! He takes the time to listen to you and makes suggestions...love! He never lets me go overboard when I want to make drastic hairstyle changes. Go see Joey...you will not be disappointed!

I called for the first time last week and got a same day appointment with Nicole. She helped me decide on a new hairstyle and color that is perfect for me. I LOVE IT! She listened to what I was thinking and put in a few ideas of her own and we came out with an awesome hairstyle and color that I love. I've gotten so many compliments on my new look.

I then took my preteen daughter and 9 year old son to Nicole the next weekend. Nicole taught my daughter how to take care of her very thick long hair and explained why it was the way it was and how to take care of it properly. Nicole was patient enthusiastic and just...AWESOME. She cut my son's hair as well and listened to what he wanted, double checked with me first and then cut his hair. She was very conscious of double checking with me on everything she did before she did it.

The atmosphere of the salon is fabulous and made me feel like I was welcomed and a friend versus a customer. You can have anything you want done there from nails to massage to waxing and haircuts for the entire family.

Make sure you ask for Nicole when you make your hair appointments.

Great experience at this salon with Randy, a true master in his profession. Being new to the area, I searched online and found good ratings and reviews. Randy listened to me and offered great suggestions. I got a great modern style for my gray hair and don t look like an old lady .

Been a repeat customer since May. Dawn is great with coloring my hair to match my hair extensions. She listens to my needs and is able to put in my extensions exactly where they need to be! Super clean salon.

Nice place, friendly, clean and offer lots of services. Parking lot is a little difficult and prices are a little high.

Great salon! If you wear your hair short, Kim is the stylist for you!! Been going to her for about a year now. Every cut and style is perfect. Have received many compliments on my hair. This is a full service salon of high calibur. Great friendly personnel. Everytime I leave I feel wonderful! Took me awhile to find such a great salon in this area. Am thrilled I finally found it.

Had the best Massage ever with Frank today. He was so sweet and very professional. I have already booked my next appointment. If you need a massage, I highly recommend going. Ask for Frank :)

Never been here before today and I don't think I'll be able to go anywhere else! My hairstylist Sara was fantastic; skilled, knowledgeable, and personalable. She gave me amazing tips on how to style not only my (incredibly done) new haircut but my unmanageable curly hair as well. Both her and the receptionist (whose name I can't remember, I'm so sorry) were very nice and understanding when there was a payment mixup with my mom. They let us pay $20 instead of $50 after a small misunderstanding, which was VERY kind and I will respect them forever for that, especially since I'm somewhat poor. I will, without a doubt, be coming back again when I can pay full price because these ladies made an outstanding first impression. Can't wait to see you all again (with full payment in hand)!

I had a massage with Sue. She did a great job. She asked me what type of massage I wanted. She took my medical issue into consideration and we decided which one was best. She is very experienced in her field. I would recommend her to anyone that wants or needs a massage. The entire staff was great. Very friendly atmosphere.

My mom was having her hair colored today and she asked me if I wanted a cut. Of course I wanted to! So, Mandy Hankinson took me to her chair and shampooed and conditioned my hair...which by the way, felt fantastic! She trimmed an inch off my ends, gave me bangs and brought the life back to my hair! I usually only have Amanda cut my hair, so I was unsure about having someone else touch my hair, but I was SO happy to have Mandy cut my hair today because she made my hair look and feel amazing!!! I LOVE LOVE LOOOVE my hair now! Thank you so so much Mandy, I will definitely be having you cut my hair now! Also, you are so sweet, kind and really made me feel like a queen in your chair.

Mo is an artist! She knows color and highlites. I highly recommend this seasoned stylist.

The massage was great as always. However they are now charging a surchage to use your credit cards. No notice that you will be charged the fee in advance, plus I thought they weren't not allowed by Florida law?

They are very nice, treat you well, and great massages!

I needed a color correction Very badly when I walked into this beautiful salon.The staff all greeted me and Barb,the owner was kind & sympathetic to my needs.She recommended Andrea,who fixed my Yellow hair with base color and highlights!I love my hair!I'm so thankful for finding such a caring and professional salon and staff.

I ve been seeing Joey for about a year, my hair has never looked better! Each time I think my hair looks the best ever and then the next time, he exceeds the level again. He listens and gets to know you, and truly enhances your looks.
He has taught me how to make my color last longer, how to style with new techniques, and what products I need and don t need. He is very respectful of my money while giving me every penny s worth.
His personality is so professional and kind, I leave feeling great inside and out!!
He has many years in the business and is knowledgeable of classic, current and new.
He is a treasure, blessed to have found him. I didn t know my hair could look so amazing!!

I have been going to Turning Heads for more than 3 years period always satisfied with my hairdresser her name is Corinne.

I came here based on the positive reviews I saw on Google. On the plus side, the salon is clean, welcoming and friendly. I wish I could say better things about my haircut. It was a classic undercut ... the stylist did not even use (or, I believe, know how to use) a clippers, and she ignored my requests to taper my neckline. I left with the sides of my head scissor-cut to nearly nothing. The back portion was long and the hairline left uneven. I had to visit a barber shop the next day to get everything fixed. At $40 plus tip, I expect a decent haircut. Looks like the barber down the street has my business now.

I went to Nicole when my hair was so damaged from dying it at home myself. She brought my hair back to life and made it beautiful! I showed her pictures of how I wanted my hair to look and she took it upon herself to give me what I wanted in the healthiest way possible! Now it is growing healthy & the color is beautiful. I will only go back to her from now on!

Booked an online appt for highlights and cut with Joey. Arrived early and the very sweet receptionist let him know and Joey greeted me and took me to his station early. I had wanted an hombre style color but 1. I had booked a highlight so please be sure to book the right thing online and 2. Joey told me up front it would be $300.00 . Thank goodness he told me as I did not want to spend that much. Left with a trim and blowout for a reasonable $45 . All that aside I have to say Joey could not have been any nicer, what a kind and caring guy. He gave me advice and ideas for future appts that were more in my price range plus his cellphone number so that I could send ideas and pics I saw that I liked !! Who does that !? Excellent customer service from all and I would recommend Joey for anyone.

We went there for the first time and Joey did the most amazing haircut. I will be going back to him for all my hair needs. This place is extremely clean, staff is amazing and oh did I tell you Joey is amazing. I cannot wait to get a message and pedicure!!!

Beth is amazing!! She can do almost anything! She is wonderful, kind, patient, and so many other wonderful traits. She has been cutting one of my relatives hair for 15 almost 16 years now! And doesn t plan to stop! She can do so many things/ can do the specific color/cut you were looking for!

First appointment with Joey. Apparently there are two Turning Head Salon locations. I arrived 5 mins late for my appointment. Joey was annoyed and informed me rather rudely that we had 20 mins for my haircut and we had to hurry up for his next appointment. I questioned the limited time and his reply was you shouldn t have been late . His attitude will keep me from ever coming back. Rude and disrespectful. Avoid this stylist.

Sara was great! Listened to what I like and made me comfortable again. Love it!

Beautiful Salon & Spa, Courtney did an amazing job showing my locks some much needed love! She is a life saver because I was ready to cut off all my hair! But Mrs. Bragg made me fall back in love with my mane!

Mo is the best Beautician in Charlotte Co. Been here 30 yrs best job anyone has ever done. I have long hair and many have no idea how to cut long . She rocks with color knowledge as well. Im very picky too. Lol

I had a wonderful experience with my first visit to the salon to get my color by the owner Barbara. She gave me highlight and lowlights to enhance my new cut. I was very happy with her ability to understand what I was looking for. I will be back!!

I was too young to be gray .
I made an appointment, Barbara recommended stylist Jessie who patiently listened to want I wanted, she made great suggestions and I couldn t be happier with a two process colour, trim and style she gave me.

Loved this salon! The owners and staff were meticulously sanitizing everything. Masks were worn by everyone. I had put off a hair appointment since Covid 19 due to concerns about cleanliness. So glad I found this salon. A true TREASURE!!

For 8 years I have been searching for a good hairstylist and I have finally found one!! Her name is Andrea and is very talented. She puts her heart and soul into her work and creates a masterpiece! I came in looking and feeling frumpy and when I left I felt like a new person! I am so lucky to have found such a sweet and talented person. Additionally, this shop is very professional, caring and friendly!

Nicole Vela is Amazing!!!
I'm so happy that I went to this salon. I went to a previous salon just a few days ago and I left with my hair a mess. My cut was all wrong. My hair was supposed to be brown but it came out orange. I was so upset and crying. My husband was trying to find a different place to help me cause like I said I was so upset. We found Turning heads on the Harbor Salon and they felt my pain over the phone (lol) and told me to come right in. That's when I met my hair angel Nicole Vela. She is so caring and very sweet! She fixed me all up. Gave me this beautiful hair cut and fixed my color and brought bounce and life back into my hair. I can't stop smiling and playing with my hair. I'm so thankful that I found her and this place. The owner is very sweet and caring as well. It's a clean and happy place to be. I'm so so so happy with Nicole Vela work. If there's anyone you can trust with your hair it's Definitely her. Thank you!!! Thank you Nicole Vela!!!
