We only did a wine tasting but it was simply fantastic! I hate that I can't remember the gentleman's name that hosted our tasting but he was great. Very informative, very cool. Highly recommend.

We visited this winery at the beginning of May. One of the friendliest and most helpful wine tastings we have had. The wine was delicious and the grounds were absolutely refreshing and beautiful.

Can t believe I m writing this because we Love the wine and always have had a great experience visiting Turnbull. We joined the wine club the first time we visited. We ve had wonderful visits & experiences with the team except for the two times we called while in Napa, and as members, we were told we couldn t get in to taste.(one time I was even picking up a shipment) First time I let it go. Second time, I was a little irritated and appearantly so was the tasting room manager. When I expressed my concern and suggested I may need to rethink my membership he replied Let s rethink it said he s canceling my membership and HUNG UP the phone on me! Couldn t believe it. Poor customer service. Poor judgement & outright rude! Maybe he was overbooked & having a long day. Maybe he also needs to remember he is in the service industry. And we are paying members. I ve spent my life in the service/sales & customer facing business (I own my own small consulting business). No matter what, I would never ever ever hang up the phone on a loyal paying customer. I guess my hard earn dollars aren t worth Turnbull s time. I m a Bay Area local and grew up visiting my grandparents in The Napa Valley. As an adult, Napa has become my husband s and I favorite place to go for a quick getaway...we take regular day & spontaneous over night trips to the valley. We love it and will continue to enjoy our time in the beautiful wine country. We are lucky to live so close. We ll just focus on our wine club memberships where we are appreciated & valued.

The one not to miss in Napa.
Turnbull is a family owned and operated winery with a perfect location, beautiful grounds and staff that will make sure you're treated right. Pair that with their Cab which just got 100 points from Robert Parker, a smooth Cab Franc (which I think is one of the best out there; a sleeper) and a tasting room full of photography from the likes of Ansel Adams. Definitely recommend the private tour and tasting - call ahead.

The wines here are amazing. Especially the Fortuna Red. 95 points +. I got there late on a busy Saturday and at the end of the tasting they said they would take care of it. I paid nothing. Andrea was great to talk to about Canadian wines. I will buy a bottle when I get back to L.A. Great experience. Treated very well. Kid friendly too. Go here.

Family owned and operated. Incredibly welcoming and understated. And yet, they have 100 Point Robert Parker ratings and stunning grounds with places to sit, sip and enjoy the vines. A true Napa gem.

Fantastic experience! The wine was absolutely incredible and the service was the same. The staff was courteous and friendly and even offered us additional pours before making purchasing decisions (something some of the more "stuck up" vineyards do not). I ended up purchasing several expensive bottles and joining their wine club. By far one of my favorite vineyards that we visited in Napa. Definitely check this one out if you are touring wineries. Five Starts Turnbull!

Great winery with a really nice view! Can't beat the area. Some really tasty reds! Tasting is a bit pricey, so we chose to share a tasting. Staff was awesome and friendly. Only complaint is the tasting won't be waived if you buy a bottle or 2.

This was the BEST tasting experience on our entire 4 Days winery hopping in Napa. Megan was an excellent host and took her time guiding us through all the wines.... and WOW. These wines are absolutely the cream of the crop if you are looking for a cab to knock your socks off. Their white offering, Josephine, is also a standout, but their cabs are where they nail it. After the first sip, I knew I was a goner. They had me at hello. Can t wait to get my first membership shipment at my doorstep!

Maria was absolutely lovely! She knew the full history of the winery, the vineyards, and gave my family and I a wonderful tasting! You must absolutely try the Bpnne Vivant. All of the vineyards in Napa, and I came back the next day and even decided to become a member. They will ship wine to you!

The grounds at Turnbull are beautiful and they did an amazing job keeping us safe during the COVID period. Kurt was our host and he was absolutely incredible - full of knowledge, history and passion. Known for their reds, they are unique and well priced compared to other high end wineries. We loved it so much that we joined as members! We definitely can t wait to come back. Definitely ask for Kurt to take care of you when you go!

We are repeat offenders, we always try to make time to stop by, sip the current offerings, and take a bottle or two home to enjoy later. This time was the best visit. Dana is a doll, fun and knowledgeable and spicy and memorable. Will look forward to not only returning but seeing her smiling face! Cracking a 2010 Amoenus soon!

First visit to Napa Valley, after an awful experience at Robert Mondavi accross the street, we turned to Turnbull without much expectations... But what an experience it turned out to be... Rob at the bar was great with the service and was an absolute delight to talk to. Their wines were great the service, absolutely personal!

My husband and I went to Turnbull hoping to taste some wine, but we were not able to. When we walked into the very large warehouse space we were not acknowledged as we moved toward the tasting bar (which was very full). We did not want to shove our way in, but would have liked someone to notice that we were there. The Ansel Adams photographs on the wall were lovely, as was the library / book store selection. That being said, the limited size of the tasting bar relative to the enormity of the space was a very poor design choice, particularly for Saturday crowds.

Visited Turnbull with a group of friends on a spring Saturday and had the BEST tasting experience. Jeff treated us so well and we couldn't have asked for a better selection of wines, better weather, or better outdoor seating & ambiance. Turnbull has standing tasting areas indoors, but by far the best place to relax and enjoy your tasting is outside in the terrace area - plenty of chairs and tables for small groups of people, cute outhouses, and easy proximity to the vineyard so you can walk through and see some of the grapes up close during your tasting. Pick a pretty day, sit outside and soak up the weather, no reservation needed.

The first few times were amazing. But sadly, their customer service is terrible. Elle was extremely rude, to the point of cancelling our membership. The guy helping us was dressed completely unprofessional in workout gear, while everyone else was wearing nice shirts and pants. Maybe they had an off day, but on a Saturday, especially for a someone who pays to be a member and pays for shipments, it was disheartening.
Go for a tasting maybe, don't become a member here.

My clients had a private tasting there, 4/30/19. Nothing but good comments on how they were treated!!! The setting on the valley floor is very intimate and beautiful!! As a Napa Valley chauffeur they are highly recommended! Thank you, Turnbull! Keep up the good work!!!

Set up a private tasting for my Nephew s bday. It was a group of 4 of us. Dana was our Host, she was Great.
Her Wine knowledge is very impressive and educational. Dana made us feel very welcomed and had a beautiful tasting in a nice, warm private room. The Wines as usual were fantastic.

Thanks again Dana, Joe and Turnbull Team !

Visited Turnbull Wine Cellars in October 2012 and loved the experience. Monica spent over an hour with our party explaining their selection of wine and giving us a tour of the facilities. I would recommend Turnbull to anyone who is planing on visiting the Napa area.

My wife and I went to Napa for a weekend and this winery was one o the more expensive that we visited. However they had a limited, fixed selection that they stood strongly behind. When my wife told her that she was not a huge fan of one of the cabs she was told that eventually she d grow into to flavor. We were not impressed with the wine nor the service. The building and outside seating was nice and I m sure they have better wines than their tasting but I would not recommend this to friends.

Turnbull is my favorite of the 'legendary' wineries on Napa Valley's Highway 29. Their wines have received 96+ ratings over the past several years and Robert Parker's perfect 100 point rating for their 2010 Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon has let the cat out of the bag! I would highly recommend joining their wine club now as these wines are sure to be standouts in the years to come. Friendly tasting room staff surrounded by a beautifully relaxed and inviting property. Don't miss the tour of the barrel room and production facility and private tastings. Kudos to Turnbull for maintaining a family owned and operated winery in the heart of the Napa Valley. It really is everything a Napa winery should be.

My wife had a lovely time living the new normal of wine tasting in the wake of the Covid shutdown. Tasting at Turnbull was a wonderfully safe and private experience. Wines were excellent as expected, staff knowledgeable and we learned that Turnbull kept all their staff on board during shutdown that alone deserves patronage but go for the Wine experience you won't be sorry, call first though

Turnbull Wine Cellars is my favorite Napa Valley Winery. It is a family owned and operated vineyard that has been producing amazing wines for years. I have been a wine club member for more than 5 years and a committed lover of their wines. This year (2014) Robert Parker gave their 2010 Cabernet a perfect 100 points, and I hope that more people begin to recognize the amazing product they have been committed to producing for years. I highly suggest the private tour and tasting. The team will take you though the entire facility and you will see the significant commitment to quality. Last time I was there I learned that Turnbull only uses its own grapes, and does everything from farming to bottling on premise. This is a rare thing in the California wine world, and probably has a lot to do with the superior quality of their wines.

I rate Turnbull Wine Cellars 4 of 5 stars. I had often driven past Turnbull Wine Cellars on Hwy 29 and yes, I did see their sign, building and road-side pickup truck. But what put them on my radar was a trip on the Napa Valley Wine Train where I had a chance to really notice Turnbull and put them onto my list to visit.

Turnbull is a very attractive winery where the interesting parts of the builds are hidden away from the Hwy. My first learning is that the building closest to the parking lot is the reserve tasting room and art gallery. In the middle between the reserve room and the tasting room is a small garden, a fountain and a beautifully restored Pick-up truck. Behind the main tasting room is an attractive patio, lawn and access to rows of grape vines. On two recent trips, I have tasted in both tasting rooms and found the staff to be knowledgeable and extremely friendly (helpful).

If you are a lover of Malbec, have I got a winery for you! Careful tasting of their wines I noticed most have a unique taste compared to other Napa Valley product. In this case, "unique" means good or bad depending on how you like Petite Verdot and Malbec. Turnbull makes use of these two grapes in blending many of their wines. So at first taste of a Cab, you notice it doesn't taste like others; yep, it is the blending. I found their blends uniquely good offering a different flavor of the main grapes. Yes, I have purchased several of their wines: 2007 Cab Franc, 2007 Merlot Estate Grown Oakville, 2008 CS Fortuna, 2008 Merlot Fortuna and a 2008 PS.

Absolutely my favorite winery! It was the end of harvest season so we got to see how everything was done. If able, do the private tasting room it s worth it. They bring in local cheese that is absolutely delicious and compliments the wine beautifully. My favorite wine of theirs is the black label. Definitely recommend trying out this beauty over the overly commercialized wineries.

Turnbull was a refreshing and insightful experience for me. My guide was a wonderful woman who was very knowledgeable about the area and personable. She took time to explain the vineyard, winery, and winemaker history to me and I really appreciated her efforts.

The wine was primarily red-based (cabernet sauvignon-the valley s it blend), but they offered Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and a Sauvignon Blanc. I enjoyed all of their wines; all small productions and only a fraction is distributed.

The grounds are very lovely. A variety of vegetation and herbs for their honey bees in addition to peach trees. Plenty of shaded seating and very nice/clean bathrooms. The inside seating offered barstools, standing room only, and couches. Also, there were original prints of Ansel Adams and Dorothea Lange. The spaces are very open and welcoming.

My only, very slight gripe is their wine club fees. It s a one-size-fits-all at $525-600. I don t doubt that it s a decent deal for 6 bottles per biannually shipment, but I wished they offered something smaller and slightly cheaper. Despite that, I still wanted to sign up.

I highly recommend Turnbull. It is a beautiful winery that feels welcoming and showcases brilliant wines.

I am not seasoned by far but recall my uncle giving Turnbull good praises.
Love is define as: the ability or percentage of being able to share the same space at the same time with something. In this case their wines.
I was amazed that I could easily bathe in them and feel happy to infuse with them.
I LOVE their wines !! It was easy to and at times explosive.
I'll be there again in a few days to figure out how a FL person can be closer to their wines yr after yr.
