Great food (although at those prices, you would hope so) and nice decor, but the service was pretty terrible. Three of them would stand round the till chatting as we're all sat waiting to order. Took the drinks order initially, but didn't bother asking me!
Deliver the best for life inspite of difficulties face and hard choice.
Overpriced for the offering and service.
Next door is much better.
Waited for over 15 min for a cappuccino and it was cold when I got it.
I had the worst coffee I've ever had here. The iced coffee was watery and tasted really bad. We also had a cappuccino which was served boiling and therefore burnt. It's also expensive, stay away from this place!!!
Stopped in for dinner on a recommendation from my parents. Wonderful food, nice atmosphere. Seems like a place you where could either take a date or a few colleagues for a biz dinner. Will be back for sure.
Note: work traveler from US
food sounded good, but wouldn't know, sat there for 15 minutes with no sign of service then left..
Seems similar to many other places in this area, serving expensive food to tourists. Wasn't overly impressed by the main course I had though it was OK. The cheese platter was pretty good afterwards.
Truc vert became my favorite restaurant / cafe in Mayfair. The decor is very pleasant, the food tasty and the ambiance very sophisticated, relaxing and soothing. Found the vegetables cleverly cooked, neither too raw neither too soft. The flavours always both elegant and complex, simple but with a creative undertone to them. Highly recommended!
Very nice environment, had a breakfast there, the food is ok, friendly stuff. However the hot chocolate could be better
Depends on the cook. First evening everything was superb. Second evening all the food was burnt.
The best of this restaurant is the nice Canadian waiter.
Meet was superb!. rest was on average.
Nice cappuccino, great atmosphere and friendly and earnest service.
Unfortunately my experience was different than most of the reviewers here. Two things for me were very dissappointing. First, staff was not very professional and not prompt at all. We were initially mixed up with people who will pay with a voucher, even though we made a booking through their web site and gave our name at the door. That could have been a honest mistake but then we had to wait 15 minutes to catch someone's attention so we can pay our bill at the end.
Second, my main course, duck a l'orange was simply bad food. It wasn't tasty and it felt like meat wasn't fresh.
Starters were just OK. Bread selection we ordered was only 2 different kind and 2 pieces each.
I guess I was expecting a bit more than this and considering the money I paid there, I should have had a better service and food.
The best coffee we've had in London. The food is very good, as well.
We had the pleasure of making a rich, international breakfast. Pancakes and scrambled eggs were beyond all expectation, all served in a rustic but sophisticated setting without too many frills.
I think the kitchen staff or management may have changed recently. In any case the quality of the food has deteriorated to the extend of not being edible :-(
I don't understand the bad reviews although I didn't just mooch in for a coffee as a cheap option to rest my legs after a hard day shopping. Instead I went for a meal. The food was excellent, the staff friendly and helpful without being overbearing, and the atmosphere relaxed and romantic. Already planning next visit and we've not yet left.
Very nice food, excellent staff, all good would recommend
Everything was quite average. Would have expected something more for the price, but it wasn't bad. I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend this to someone but it was quite good.
