Tripps Restaurants Review

Been here many times. Always great food and service. Not so Saturday evening. Ordered my prime rib as usual medium rare. Came out perfect. Wife ordered fillet minion med. She cut into hers and blood went everywhere. Had it cut it half thru. It was rare. Called the waiter over, told him, he looks at it and says "yes, that's medium". I was shocked. Wife said just forget it. Should have called manager over.

Service was lackluster. Part of our food order was wrong, other part cold. Won't be back.

Never had a bad meal or poor service.... This is my go to lunch place!

We got a full rack of ribs and shrimp. Food was good but we paid for a full rack. Rack wasnt even bigger than my hand

Excellent Service and Quality Food Always. Never a disappointment. Our "go to" for a wonderful dinner.

Been here twice for lunch now, the food has been great, can't beat it for the prices. The service was very good. It's a little dated on the decoration/atmosphere but those are things that aren't important to me for a lunch outing.

Went for our first time today. Even though it was Father's day, we only had a 5 minute wait. The service (Liz and staff) was personable and not bad for busy evening holiday rush. The food was AMAZING! The chicken quesadilla was so good we ordered a second one to take home. The park crusted filet was unbelievably yummy. The caesar salad was well dressed and the dressing was unique and garlicky. The burger was cooked to perfection. The drinks were spicy and Devine! This is our new go to place! Thanks Tripps!

Hi guys. Filet mignon had a sour taste but was not marinated in any sauce. Exchanged it for Honey Bourbon Glazed Salmon, the salmon was decent but overcooked and dry. The service was great but for an expansive restaurant, high quality food should be prepared and served at all times.

the state burger is fantastic, but they removed the wings from the menu, unfortunately. the bar is pretty terrible looking, so get a table elsewhere. the service was incredible, though!

This was one of the worst experiences I have had in a very long time. We waited an hour for a salad and a burger. When we received our food, the burger was cold and overcooked, and the fries were cold and soggy, they could've at least microwaved the food to heat it up. All and all, it was just a bad experience and I won't be going back.

For Quality and Quantity of food Good pricing even Gf offered to pay for meal

Food is great! Especially the southwest spring rolls with chipotle ranch. Atmosphere is pretty dated though.

TERRIBLE! Worst service ive ever had in my life. It took more than a hour to get our food. I didn t even get my salad before my meal, when I told the server that he didn t bring our salad he still failed to bring it. We talked to the manager and he did nothing in our favor except talk to our server. This place has horrible service and I will never visit here again.

Great potatoe soup, the spinach and artichoke dip was alright.

I love the Creole Meal at Tripps. It includes Tilapia with rice and veggies and a special sauce on top. Delicious!!!!

Dinner was great,and the food Delicious. Our waiter was thoughtful and even bought us a free Anniversary Desert. Enjoy this restaurant very much.

Local bar/restaurant with dated decor, but excellent deals for their steaks!!! I enjoyed a prime rib, baked potato, salad and quality beer for around $23 dollars. The steak was delicious and the service excellent (thanks Sarah C). If you are looking for an old watering hole or a decent steak, Tripps is spot on!

We went for Sunday brunch. Fast and friendly service. Great meal!

I had a wonderful experience for lunch today. The management, staff, and food were all superb. Would recommend Tripps to anyone.

Big portions and great tasting food for very reasonable prices. Very attentive service

Called in To Go order. I was told it would be ready in 15-20 min, which is about when I arrived. My mother went inside to pick it up bc I had to stay in the car with my sleeping child. It is now at least 15-20 ADDITIONAL minutes later, and we are just getting it.

The sign says they close at 10pm on Sundays. It's 9:06pm and they are already closed.

Tripps isn't a mainstream night out restaurant anymore but it's still an awesome place to eat. Food was great salads were freshly made, steaks we're done delightfully to order. Drinks were lil strong and pricy but so is the menu my meal alone was around $28. If u got a Benjamin to blow for a nice peaceful dinner that u don't have to wait forever just to get in the door then this is an awesome place to eat and drink and spend quality time with the honey or the family, strongly recommend Tripps for all.

This was a horrific attempt at food service! We entered Tripps and were greeted with looks from the staff like we were interrupting them and it took about a minute of them looking back and forth at each other before one of the decided to do the job of greeting and seating us. We were lead towards the bar area where there were 4 dirty tables and sat in a booth in the midst of the filth. The waitress brought us some water and bread and after we ordered my wife found a gnat in her water. As we waited for our waitress to return my wife kept looking over my shoulder into the kitchen where she first noticed (what we would later find out to be the manager) dumping "steam in bag" vegetables onto a plate with no gloves, followed by the cook and other kitchen staff fondling food barehanded after wiping sweat from their brow, touching their face and clothing repeatedly! This prompted us to get up to leave but before I did I asked to speak to the manager. Vegetable lady shows up and pretends to be shocked and claims "I'm burning up inside!" This really angered my wife and she headed for the door immediately. This horrible dining experience was topped off by a terrible acting job via the manager.
This is how people get sick, this place should get a surprise visit from the health inspector!

The husband and I wanted to try something new, so Tripps it was. We were sat in the bar area without being asked if that were ok, and it was super loud. The waitress spilt olive oil on my phone and car keys, my husband's pork came undercooked and it took over 10 minutes until our waitress came to check on us so we could tell her. We won't be wasting our money on a return.

Really had a great time there for my husband's birthday. The wait staff was awesome they really took good care of us. The food was delicious as always. We absolutely love their crab cakes as well as their prime rib with the eyes you. And they have an awesome salad as well. Haven't tried anything on the menu that I didn't like. Will definitely be revisiting again soon.

Food was sitting at bar when I arrived ...no attendant I had to call the restaurant while I waited still no service finally had to ask for manager to get my food that was sitting 10 minutes waiting for someone to assist me....of course it was cold......

Awful! The Eggs Benedict was over cooked. The potatoes were hard as a rock. My husband had the chicken and ribs. He told me they were over cooked as well.
We were literally the first people in the restaurant when it opened. We couldn't understand why things were so over done.
We have been customers for years and always enjoyed dining there.
It will be a long time if we decide to return.
The wait staff were very friendly and attentive.

Always a great visit. Recommend the shrimp and scallops alfredo. Big portion; great price.

The best restaurant we have found to eat at when we come to Greensboro. food has always been good.....sometimes a little slow on service.

Chicken tenders were floury on one side- could have fried longer. Egg rolls were not as good as usual and were not cut

This location has great customer service and they food is great as well. Hubby likes the cajun chicken pasta, my little one enjoys the grilled cheese and baked beans and I enjoy the California Flatbread!

Food is presented quite well and taste great. This particular trip had me waiting a little longer for the food than expected, but otherwise it's great!

Sad sad experience at this restaurant. For starters my fiance and I ordered two glasses of wine at the bar while waiting on our table. The glasses we were drinking from were dirty. After we informed the bartender they were dirty, we were given much attitude. We finally were seated and talk about walking through food infested floors. We were sat at a booth were a party had been sitting. To watch the wait staff stuff used silverware in glasses, I had to take a long stare at my water. No way I can drink this. Long story short after eating our salads boxing up our meal to leave this filthy restaurant, we both went home and vomited during the night. Bad food, filthy environment, but our waitress was wonderful. Shame on you after we called back and you gave us your butt to kiss.

The first i went to this restaurant was about 4 years ago. Food was very good they had a great menu as well with lots of choices. Now its so so ,service was very good but the food reminds me of a kick back jacks . Not sure if i will revisit food just wasnt that good .

Service was great. I ordered "prime rib" and got a rib roast was were near prime at best it was a USDA Good rating at best with no marbling and a lot of gristle and as tough as shoe leather. Will not order it anymore.
