Main Hall closed for renovations, side chapel was open with 3 Thug security guards at the side door making people assume the position and get scanned with hand held metal detectors, then another Thug on his cell phone in the back of the chapel said it be closed back hear .

I ve been hear many times over the past thirty years and never had to go through security to see the church, and the low class thugs they have working there.

Then the always Give Generously donation boxes LOL, from the wealthiest individual parish in the world. They make over a 160 million dollars each year on rent from land they own in lower Manhattan, talk about greed!!

Beautiful church with so much history behind it. We didn't get to go in because it's closed for an asbestos treatment of some kind. The grounds were beautiful, though! A close walk to wall street.

Very peaceful. Great place to escape the office. The Church is beautiful, but part of it is currently undergoing renovation. Lots of tourist, and the Church serves light lunch/snack around noon to anyone who wishes to partake.

Beautiful and curious that it has a cemetery in its gardens. In 1696, the city governor, Benjamin Fletcher, approved the acquisition of land for the Anglican community for the construction of a new church. The land grant specified a small annual rent that was due to the crown of England.

The current Trinity Church is the work of the American architect Richard Upjohn, who conceived it in a neo-Gothic style. It is part of the National Historic Landmark, for its architecture, but also as a consequence of its role in the history of the city. At the time of the consecration of the church on May 1, 1846 (Ascension Day), its neo-Gothic-inspired tip, surmounted by a golden cross, dominated the southern Manhattan skyline. Trinity Church was then a welcome beacon for ships arriving in port.

The cemetery has a lot of historical relevance, dating back from the 1700 s, pre-American Revolution. I wish I could spend a week here or so here. My phone was on low battery so I couldn t take pictures but... I was amazed.

Didn't go inside but this has such a quaint little cemetery and garden right in the city. Church is very cute and the scene is picturesque and a nice place to sit and get away from the crowds of NYC for a quick break.

Large neo-Gothic church in southern Manhattan. The vistya is suggestive for the contrast with the taller buildings that surround it. Interior not exactly impressive and a little gloomy. Maybe it's because I'm an admirer of the original European Gothic cathedrals ...
However, from here we have the idea of how much the old skyscrapers of New York, in some cases at least a hundred years old, are precursors of all the other cities in the world developed vertically only afterwards.

Oldest and very beautiful! The graveyard is priceless with the Revolutionary War Monument on the Broadway side. It is a nice quiet place to sit and eat lunch. There is a daily lunch giv-away-very lite!

This is perhaps the most delightful church in all of Manhattan . In particular it is well framed by the walkway through to the NYSE. It also serves as a great reference point when navigating around the whole Wall Street and 9/11 area. We were lucky to pass this church on a Saturday afternoon as a wedding was coming out.

I know this is an exercise in futility, but I can't not at least register my fury verbally that this place is tearing down a rather beautiful, old building on Greenwich Street, directly behind the church and its cemetery, only to put up yet another ugly tall glass box (just what we need down here) for (what else?) yet another condo (just what we also need -- more people in an area that can't accommodate the ones who already live here). The building they're busily demolishing may not be as architecturally significant as the church itself, but it's still infinitely more aesthetically pleasing than these cookie-cutter glass towers that are all that seem to be being built these days. Money is, as always, the apparent sole motivating force here -- how lovely that an organization that likes to portray itself as being about something more is every bit as greedy as any other multinational corporation.
