If I could give negative stars I would. Dan Leibfreid was terrible as a mortgage consultant. I contacted him on the recommendation of my realtor because she suggested that he may be able to get me a lower closing cost for the home I was purchasing than Quicken Loans. I contacted him and Dan talked the talk - he gave me a lower closing cost, so I decided to go with him. But my husband and I show up at our closing appointment, and lo and behold, the closing cost is more than $2000 over the amount we were asked to bring. The worst thing was Dan was not even apologetic - he was rude, curt, and we saw no remorse even though it was clearly his fault. We had to rush to the bank and get a cashier's check for the additional amount before the bank closed. But that was not the worst part. A few months later, after we had moved into the new place, we were slapped with $4000 extra in county taxes because Dan had conveniently left that out of the closing costs as well. When we contacted him regarding that, he never responded. All in all, the closing costs with him ended up being higher than Quicken Loans - so he basically promised us a lower cost to reel us in, then either because of his incompetence or willful ignorance, did not include large sums of money in the estimate. GO WITH ANOTHER BROKER!
