Triangle Bikeworks: Empowering Youth Through Cycling
Triangle Bikeworks is a non-profit organization that aims to empower youth who are Black, Latine, Asian, Indigenous, and People Of Color (BIPOC) through cycling. The organization was founded with the mission of strengthening the power of BIPOC youth to overcome challenges and achieve audacious goals.
At Triangle Bikeworks, we believe that cycling can be a powerful tool for personal growth and community building. By providing access to bicycles and cycling education, we aim to create a more equitable society where all individuals have the opportunity to thrive.
Our programs are designed to meet the unique needs of BIPOC youth in our community. We offer a range of services including bike repair workshops, group rides, mentorship programs, and leadership development opportunities. Our goal is not only to teach young people how to ride bikes but also how to become leaders in their communities.
One of our flagship programs is our Bike Club program which provides free bikes and helmets for low-income youth in our community. Participants in this program receive hands-on training on bike maintenance and safety as well as opportunities for group rides with experienced cyclists.
Another key program at Triangle Bikeworks is our Leadership Development Program which focuses on developing leadership skills among BIPOC youth. This program includes workshops on communication skills, conflict resolution strategies, team-building exercises as well as opportunities for mentorship from experienced professionals in various fields.
In addition to these programs aimed at empowering BIPOC youth through cycling education and leadership development opportunities; Triangle Bikeworks also partners with local organizations working towards social justice issues such as affordable housing advocacy or environmental sustainability initiatives.
We believe that by working together with other organizations committed towards creating positive change within our communities; we can create lasting impact towards achieving equity for all individuals regardless of race or socioeconomic status.
At Triangle Bikeworks; we are committed towards creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and valued. We recognize that cycling has historically been a predominantly white and male-dominated sport; and we are working towards changing this narrative by creating opportunities for BIPOC youth to engage with cycling in a safe and supportive environment.
In conclusion, Triangle Bikeworks is an organization committed towards empowering BIPOC youth through cycling education, leadership development opportunities, and community building initiatives. Our programs are designed to meet the unique needs of our community; and we are dedicated towards creating lasting impact towards achieving equity for all individuals regardless of race or socioeconomic status. Join us today in our mission to create a more equitable society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive!
