The only problem with this place is the changing room for swimming. There are no cubicals to get changed, it is completely open. So if you have something that you want to keep to yourself or have kids that are at the point of body changes, it is very difficult.

Stopped using the pool here as I felt i was being discrimated against because I'm male.

I think women's only hours are sexist and outdated and they have them with a higher degree of regularity at Stretford than any other swimming pool that I know of.

You wouldn't have an hour of pool use exclusively for certain persons based on their religion or colour and you shouldn't have them based solely on a person's sex either, especially not as frequently as you do at Stretford.

The gym facilities are descent, good hours and nice pools. Gym lacks a squat rack but has a room for mat work, kettlebells and a fair set of machines and free weights. It's a comfortable small but posh feeling gym.

It s alright. Quite run down and needs a cash injection. Pool is a good size but the changing rooms are poor. The sports hall isn t too bad. Was always on the down after the library went here. Staff are always really friendly here. The cafe is ok but the gym isn t the best.

It's a tad run down, but the staff are lovely, and there's a really friendly atmosphere. The children's swimming lessons are very good. The gym is rarely overcrowded, and there are no 'roid heads acting like they own the place. It's just a shame that they no longer have squash courts.

My daughter has additional needs and has Kelly for swimming who's awesome as she understands my daughters needs. If you can visit the cafe upstairs too as Jo and the other lady (who works in there too) make a yummy toastie nothing is ever too much trouble for them always polite and friendly.

A decent facility that is a great asset for the community. The swimming pool is being well used and is the ideal size. The building is starting to look old and tired but with plans for a new facility it isn't worth investing in upgrades to modernise the building to make it feel newer than it is. That's not to say it is worn-out just starting to look like an old building, it is still perfectly serviceable and useable.

Came to a swimming gala here. The facility is functional but has definitely seen better days. It looks very aged and a lot of the facilities are in need of repair. The spectator gallery is far too small. Not the worst but could do with a lot of money spending on it to bring it into modern times.

First impression clean and modern. Shame about the changing rooms. Shabby, cold and awful showers that barely work. Cafe upstairs serve quite a good selection of hit and cold meals reasonably priced.

Great variety of facilities and activities for all ages. Love that they have a women's gym. The tiny Ted's group on a Tuesday is amazing. Lots of children's equipment. Friendly staff. Pool needs updating and big pool needs warming up

Ive been 4 weeks in a row to take the kids swimming and not managed to get into the pool yet. I have been told ive arrived too early one day and was advised i could try the play room upstairs which the kids enjoyed so missed out on a swim. Then arrived at 10.30 3 weeks in a row to be told its fully booked and i can wait but they wont put your name on a list so by the time you keep popping to the desk they have let others in not coming again. Urmston baths are more organised and have a turnover system so everyone gets a turn much better place to go

Worst swimming experience I've ever had. Staff were very friendly but the changing rooms smelt AWFUL, the swimming pool was really salty?? and in desperate need of a revamp. Also, despite checking with the life guard that I was definitely swimming in the right direction other swimmers in the lane would consistently swim right at me, next to each other, blocking the lane and then would both stop in front of me and look as if this was in some way my fault. Really bad experience.

Could do with a deep clean. Needs a 'changing village' rather than separate male and female changing areas as it is difficult take a family into one of the two rather dingy family changing rooms.

Changing rooms reminded me of the gym scenes in the film kes. Never had to queue after changing to get in the pool. If anyone is considered making a film on the early life of Duncan Goodhew this would be the perfect set .
