Left Bangladesh at 9 years of age. The shopping experience at "New Market " still remains with me to this day. From Free School Street, Kathalbagan this would be the shopping complex I would come with my beloved mum for Eid shopping. I have been here with my Cousin Porosh Viea, he bought me lots of presents because I had come to stay at Mama & Mami's house a very long time ago when I returned for holiday. I hope this Market never changes its name and always remains old but new to people in years to come. May Allah bless all my brother's and Sister's who work hard for a living in the scorching heat of the day. AMEEN.

The oldest market in Dhaka city where you can satisfy your retail demand in very reasonable price.

This market is one of the large markets in Dhaka and one of the busiest ones.

The main problem here is, you have to negotiate the price of almost every product. The sellers have the tendency to cheat buyer by much higher price, may be double or more. So buyer have to be very careful about the price. Other then that this is one of the best place to find almost everything within a reasonable price if you really can negotiate.

Its a commercial area.
Its a very crowded area in Dhaka city.there are All kinds of products are available here.
So many shops,restaurants,hotels,cineplex are this area.
Also,its a lovely place.
And remember there are so much traffic.

One of the oldest and best shopping mall in Dhaka. Almost every essential available. Food not hygienic.

Once Dhaka New market was a very popular place for shopping. That time shops were well organised. Spacious walk way, quality Ice-cream bar & some fresh food corner provides extra energy for the visitors.
But now Dhaka New market is a horrible & disgusting place not only for shopping but even to walk in. Shops are everywhere without any plan, scheme or design. so there is always a disturbing crowd floating in the market. Only you can breathe just infront of book shops.

I love this place. Lots of memories during my student life and after. U will find almost everything in one place. From food to books, cloths to kitchen item, art, electronics daily use stuffs, room decorating to ornaments and lots of things. Big area to cover if you want to. Parking facilities is ok. But entry point or gates are not manage properly. Authority should define a place for rickshaw puller parking and make a fix place for customer to hire rickshaw.

Dhaka New Market is a nice place for shopping persons like me.

A place where you can go and get really good products and its cheap as well, most of the people come here for shopping and I believe its really a good place for shopping there are several reason behind that, you can find all you need at one place, you will have a lot of products to choose from, its cheap here, quality is good enough and buying products from the sells-man can increase your IQ Why I have mentioned about IQ.? Oldest market complex in Dhaka. In 1960s and 1970s Dhaka residents had to go there for shopping and even seeing doctors in their chambers. My father took my eldest brother in December 1967 there for treatment , he was only 9 months old

New market is a good place for shopping. This market is so good for middle class & under middle class family. Almost everything we can buy from here.

Good for cheap marketing but you have to bargain any product. Because they demand over price for anything. If u don't bargain u can be deceived by the price

Really happening place, clearly outplays modern shopping malls. Specially open sky shopping is amazing. Love the library and stationary corners.

It is the best local shopping market of Dhaka city. Garments , Ornaments and all other home appliances are available with cheap prizes. I have gone for several times and buy many things. It is the most popular market of Bangladeshi people.

Dhaka New Market is located north of Azimpur and west of Dhaka University campus. This is not new by the way. This is rather old in comparison to Super Malls and shopping complex that grew rapidly in Dhaka. This market has several portions and accommodates all needs ranging from fruit to fruit juicer, vegetables to blender and so on. It houses a beautiful mosque with items of religious beliefs available downstairs. Tips: Offer half of the asked price. Then ask the final price to the vendor. You will love the atmosphere. This is co- located to Nilkhet Book Market, Chondroma Market, Gausia Market, New Super Market etc. The roads surrounding the market are used as parking where you need to pay BDT 10. This is accisible by bus and other surface means. Being open on two weekends ( Friday and Saturday), the market remains jam-packed on these days. The market remains close on Tuesday.

Best shopping place in the city for all classes consumer except huge crowds around o clock. Tuesday is official holiday in this area.
