Horrible place to live. The management staff besid...

Horrible place to live. The management staff besides Kelly is awful and extremely rude. The apartments are patched together and are literally falling apart. Instead of hiring licensed contractors to fix the complex they are having their maintenence men do it half assed. It has been 6 months and they haven't even finished replacing the wood on the buildings yet. Our AC unit stopped working in September last year and it took them almost a week to replace it. In the meantime they brought us a tiny little window unit that barely kept the kitchen cool. BEFORE they installed it I asked the head of maintenence about the increase in electricity bills. He told me the office would pay for the extra in usage fees. When I went to the office the next month because our bill was $60 more the main office refused to do anything about it. So we were stuck paying the extra money. They won't pay for an exterminator to take care of the wasp, bee and ant problem the WHOLE complex has. Again, they use their maintenence men and it takes them forever to go take care of a hive so we have had to pay extra to buy tons of raid because both myself and my daughter are allergic to bees. My husband has been stung twice just walking out our front door in the morning. We have been waiting 2 years for our front doorbell to be replaced and it still hasn't. We were told when we moved in they had already ordered the doorbell and it would be fixed within a week.....they are a huge joke and way overpriced to basically live in an electrical fire waiting to happen. One building has already burnt down. Another apartment caught on fire YEARS ago and they have been "fixing" it since we moved in....again, 2 years ago. They have entered our apartment twice now without informing us they had done so. They never left notes letting us know they had been inside which is a violation. The wood overlay on the outside of our building was barely hanging on for over 3 months and I had informed the office staff numerous times that if it decided to fall off it was a lawsuit waiting to happen if someone was walking underneath it. They never did anything about it. Instead our next door neighbor ripped it down one night after he saw a bunch of kids had been playing outside right under it during the day. This place is a joke and we cannot wait until we move in a couple of months. My advice is to find another place to live. There are a bunch of nicer apartment complexes in New Braunfels that are reasonably priced and you actually get what you pay for there.

Before we even moved in, there was a water leak.flooded our living room after new carpet was out in.The staff is rude. The workers never finish their jobs(they have been remodeling the complex for about a year now. Always parking heavy machinery in harms way of the residents.
The only good thing about this place is my elderly neighbor, she's an angel.
My opinion- pay more and stay at the landmark.

The new management completely is subpar. It seems like every other Saturday they close completely and just randomly close doors early. It's right now 3pm on a Friday and I needed to stop in the office. Asked off early and got here to a "sorry we're closed". My upstairs had a leaky something which caused my ceiling to fall off. So I call the emergency service and had someone come look at it. Ok they have to buy material or whatever to actually do it. But that was almost a year ago. My lease is almost up and my ceiling is still caved in with holes. Manager is completely a jerk. The secretary guy is just fine. He understands that he should at least act like he cares. When the manager took over he immediately post on my door that I'm being evicted because of failure to pay 2 months in a row. Makes no sense. Went to talk to him for the first time and he says there isn't anything he can do. He never received it and unless I show proof I have less than a week to move out. Luckily we kept our receipts records and I go back to the office and show him. He says of sorry the preprinted money orders are illegible. So you had two "illegible" money orders just sitting on your desk and a tenant who is two months late on rent and you can't put two and two together and just try to evict them without trying to ask any questions?? This guy's a joke. Save your money and go to a different complex.

Worst apartment complex I've EVER had the displeasure of living at. Wouldn't recommend Torrey Place to my worst enemy!!!! No maintenance gets done and my poor disabled father has to deal with what I would assume to be at least 15 to 20 year old carpet while he has respiratory problems plus a broken back, easily gets pneumonia, ans has leukemia. Kelly was the best asst property manager they had there, everyone else since her has been nothing but rude and ignorant.

I'm puzzles by some of the reviews because I didn't experience any of the problems stated. Moved here with my Dad in April. His apartment was completely redone...was clean and everything in order. We are starting to see some wear and tear that was painted over but....it's an apartment not a house.

Our building has not been renovated yet and that's the only downfall.

Every maintenance called...answered timely and any problems with staff or maintenance....handled appropriately....

we live in the back so its quiet.....love the gym, pool and business office!

Office staff ALWAYS treated me with respect....and that's a 2 way street....

Love the washer and dryer that comes with the unit! That was the seller for my dad.

Gorgeous floor plan and nice size rooms.

People are quicker to leave a negative comment than a positive one...so I give it a true to heart....4 stars!

I worked for Eugene Curran who manages Stonewood Village Apartments (York,PA) & Torrey Place apartments (new bruanfels, TX). He is a terrible person to deal with. Incredibly selfish and never thinks of others. He basically is running a ponzi scheme as he does not pay vendors yet uses business funds to pay for his London vacations etc. He berates employees on a regular basis (calling them stupid/dumb). I was called dumb because I did not allow him to commit fraud! I left and have filed a complaint with department of labor for my last pay as he never paid me and even left me a threatening voicemail stating he would not pay me. Tenants do not expect anything to be done to compensate you in an event of a disaster or damage. Vendors do not expect payment. The only reason he has these properties is so that the rent money can pay for his lifestyle. He claims to know so much yet can not read financial statements which he demanded by the 15th of each month. This man has an English degree and absolutely zero real estate experience (other than scamming people), zero business knowledge (other than how to manipulate the system), zero knowledge on how to run/manage properties and all in all is a terrible human being!

They are not terribly bad but not in good shape especially on the exterior. Stairs are crumbling and dirty, rails rusty, fences falling apart. It is a good location due to the park being so close but that's about it. Maintenance needs to be improved with quicker response time and not to do just "quick fixes". I would also suggest the management take a good look at the prices they are charging. As the city builds more and more apartment complexes, I am noticing that ALL complexes are pushing their advertisements for cheaper rent / free months rent VERY aggressively. For example there are luxury apartments (with lots of amenities) around the block for not very much more. I know myself and others are starting to look around at other places to live in higher quality apartment for about the same price. Without lower rent they will find themselves with many less tenants.

This place is unbelievable i tried gettin a two bedroom with my pregnant wife and 1.5 year old daughter cause my lease was up wear im at and we needed a place or it was the shelter for us, they took our appliction 100 for app and 200 deposit than processed it, they denied us one day later cause i was 300 short of makin the three times rent, so i said ok just give me my deposit back so i can find somewear else. Well here it is 4 weeks later and they still wont give me the 200 back!!! Im filing a lawsuit tuesday and this is exactly why ya dont run a apartment complex from your house in baltimore, maryland (the owner lives in baltimore, so good luck getting anything done,) friggin yankee !!!!!!!

We currently live here and are VERY displeased with the way the "manager" does things. Kelly was the absolute best, she was so sweet and seemed like she actually cared about the residents and our problems but this new guy is awful. I called last week to complain about our water being shut off for 4+ hours and they did not even call anyone in the complex to let them know about it. I left a voicemail comment asking for the manager to please call me back and of course I got no response. Mind you, that was nearly a week ago. I called back today 8/22/16 and asked to speak to the apartment manager and told him the situation that I called asking for him to call back and he completely avoided that topic. Instead, after addressing the CONSTANT problems we have with our water either being shut off or turning a yellow/brown color, he was so beyond rude I couldn't believe he was supposed to be considered the manager. I would NEVER recommend anyone to live in these apartments. Unless you enjoy being treated rude and overlooked, LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE. If I could rate this place with zero stars I would.

I loved this place. The office staff was always so nice. The replaced the washer and dryer as soon as I had problems. I am relocating back to New Braunfels and I am going back. I love this place! I hope there is a vacancy. Cheers!

I don't know how his apartment complex has such a low rating. The management here is amazing. The staff are all sweet and always get stuff done in a timely manner. They are understanding and kind. Something that is rare to find. The apartments themselves are older but we have had a blast living in ours. It's cute and we have fires in our fireplace when it's cold and go swimming frequently. I highly recommend this to anyone. Especially when looking for an affordable option. Thank you for all you do Torrey Place staff and for providing a safe and pretty place to live.
