Tombolo Thalasso Resort, Marina di Castagneto Carducci (LI) Review

Nice hotel, super efficient and kind staff ... especially restaurant and pool bar, can't wait to go back

The resort itself has nice rooms and facilities are good with beach access included and towels there and the pool. I was thoroughly underwhelmed with the quality of the restaurant on site - in particular the staff there managed the impressive feat of being consistently both inattentive and rude - every meal required waiting to be seated and then waiting an age before being served which was done in a curt and dour manner - on our last night eating there we abandoned any plans to have desert as we had to wait 35 minutes to be seen. The portion sizes are small and the food quality is at best average and was inedible several times (chewy tough beer fillet at 23 a plate). Even though the restaurant didn t seem busy the staff seemed to do anything but serve customers and when they did this was reluctantly this experience was replicated both at breakfast with long waits to get a table. If you must stay here I would certainly recommend dining elsewhere which we did after the first three nights of being ignored and service with poor attitude and mediocre fare that seems to start with the Maitre d hotel who is the personification of service with a sneer - sadly there is no option to do this at breakfast which means a stressful start to what should be a relaxing day enjoying the great pool,beach or caves. This was a shame as the rest of the hotel staff in the bars,reception and spa and beach area were courteous and polite and the facilities themselves were as expected for a five star.

The top ... all beautiful organization perfect value for money ... excellent. Well furnished and functional rooms..Thalassotherapy has 5 different pools at various temperatures original environment well done and super clean..in room you find kettle with coffee or tea and herbal tea and fridge bar. Excellent equipment for the bathroom, hairdryer, bathrobes, etc. As soon as you arrive they give you bathrobes and slippers for access to the spa .. good invoice and trained and friendly staff will show you what to do and the circuits to be made. As for the costs ... well they are up to the 5 stars ... but then you realize that in the end they are good. I recommend trying it ... it's really worth it. I personally would go back for sure.

Wonderful place, the staff is always super nice, friendly and helpful. The spa is spectacular maybe it is more appreciable in winter (for my personal taste) but it is nevertheless wide and well cared for. The cleanliness of the hotel is excellent, the rooms are pleasant and comfortable, the environment is well soundproofed and allows you to relax to the fullest. The pool is spacious and the pool bar is very stocked. Breakfast is plentiful and varied. Overall the experience at this hotel is great, I felt good. I will be back

Nice and clean location. Too bad for the water in the cold pools, at the limit of endurance. We were warned that they would be cold until 11.30, the problem is that they were cold at 14 as well.

Excellent facility for those seeking peace, relaxation and pampering! Access to the beach is the plus very appreciable even in winter!

We stayed this weekend I have to congratulate everyone for the courtesy and helpfulness on everything .. nice rooms .. cozy .. top spa cleaning excellent as well as the food ... we will definitely be back

The hotel is immersed in the pine forest, by the sea. Cozy, with an enveloping atmosphere. The pools of the Spa are beautiful. There are 5 in a landscape artfully reproduced in the rock. The water is not thermal but sea water, brought to various temperatures above 30 degrees. The saunas are separate: men on one side, women on the other. Dear ladies of the wellness center. Tuscan in the marrow.

The hotel could be improved in several respects. One of these is the care of the common areas (on the panoramic terrace on the first floor you can see a patching of the glass window overlooking the sea, made of plexiglass) and various other decommissioned works here and there.
As this is a 5 star hotel, more of these 'Arrangements' should be offered.
And I do not forget the courtesy, the greeting of those who welcome, give good education and respect the customer. I found it missing with regret.

I don't know if I'll be back. I had an expectation and was disappointed.

So far underwhelmed. We have just checked in and the receptionist was not only rude. But smiled as she advised us that we could not havena table in the restaurant this evening despite being quests at the hotel. As it was fully booked. I have never ever stayed anywhere where hotel quests are not guaranteed a table. So now we are going have to spend the next hour or so walking up and down trying to find somewhere to eat later. I can only hope the facilities make up for the staff! But I cant say I am blown away by the room either

The hotel makes a big impression, especially inside, a large garden but no special charm, currently no convenient access to the sea but the construction of the whole complex on the beach is underway

Beautiful and elegant wellness center in Donoratico, located inside a charming hotel and accessible by reservation. The center offers a course of 5 sea water pools at various temperatures, with kneip, swimming against the current, hydrobyke, whirlpools of various types and waterfalls. And after the pools, there are emotional showers, two saunas and a wonderful large hammam at 2 temperatures. It is ideal for a day of authentic relaxation.

High quality hotel, from all points of view. Service at a five-star level. Rooms very well kept and comfortable. The added value is given by the spa, of excellent quality. Private beach available and very pleasant outdoor pool with very helpful staff. Very good dinner, excellent breakfast.

In response to the previous one, the google profile used by me for this review does not correspond to my name, but I guarantee you that it is not among my passions to write reviews of random places except that I have been there. The excuse of the non-correspondence is as old as the 4 desserts offered every evening at the restaurant. I remain convinced that it is difficult to eat badly in Tuscany, but still possible.

Friendliness, order, cleanliness, education are always the most appreciated things and in this hotel they are certainly at an excellent level.
Staying there out of season is definitely pleasant rather than in busy periods, my partner and I have been able to stay here several times, always with pleasure.
The staff is very courteous and polite, the spa is magnificent the breakfast room well stocked with every delicacy, which is to say everything is perfect for relaxing, to frame a very chic, quiet, tidy, bright environment, and a pleasant scent which can be heard everywhere walking inside the structure, outside a quiet promenade. (in summer it has a reserved bathing area, equipped for guests)
I recommend it to those looking for pampering and relaxation in every season.

Beautiful location. Very kind staff. You literally regenerate yourself. Spotless room. Super breakfast. Only sore point the dinner below expectations.

Well located with a beautiful beach and green area, on the other hand fairly old and small rooms in relation to the price. Pool for toddlers closed which is a shame with limited access to the spa for the little ones. Service ok once again in relation to the price. We are the 21st of September everything was supposed to be open gold this is not the case ...

What more could you want, to enjoy breathtaking sunsets from a terrace, perhaps with an excellent cocktail brought by educated and professional staff. Cozy and clean rooms, good food. The SPA also has an excellent, polite and professional staff (I recommend the "Silence" pool).

Beautiful property, very well maintained, relaxing, well-kept pine park

The hotel is excellent, super comfortable, great service, super attentive. The place is very nice and beautiful with a beautiful sunset. It has a fantastic wellness center with 4 heated swimming pools and health circuit. It also has aesthetic treatments, massages, etc. The breakfast is fantastic, the restaurant is good and the bar is great with delicious wines and juices and the Tuscan slugs!
