Toledo Pain Services Rx Review

Okay, after reading some of the reviews, I thought I would offer positive feedback and counter a few misperceptions.
First, the staff that I have all dealt with are extremely friendly and helpful. They engage in small talk and seem to genuinely care about their patients. The first time I met doctor Gao, he shook my hand, discussed my issues, and had obviously looked at my charts to see what my issues were.
Wait time in the lobby is usually not bad, certainly less than at my primary care physician. Usually once I am in my room and the nurse does her thing and leaves, Dr. Gao is in the room within 10 minutes, usually less.
When I have my procedures done, they are done quickly and efficiently. I live in chronic pain, and the clinic is very helpful, the surgical staff is quick, friendly, and caring.
You HAVE to wait in recovery after a procedure, the same as in any other surgical situation anywhere else. They have to make sure that you are not having an adverse reaction to the medication. You might think that this is unnecessary, but it is for your own good and safety.
I had to have a psychological evaluation, just like anyone else. It's a safeguard for addiction. It protects them, and you. Rather than look at it as embarrassing, talk to the psychologist. Mine was very helpful with depression issues I was having, and saw me several times.
Finally, they are NOT obligated to give you the medication that you want. They will give you the medication that you need. With the current opioid crisis, they are rightfully cautious. Your family doctor doesn't prescribe pain killers for a reason, they let experts handle that.
If you're looking for a nice staff, a professional environment, and doctors that care, I recommend the clinic. They will do their best to take care of you.

It's a nice building and very clean. The girls working the counters are very nice and friendly.
I have a birthdefect it's rare, I understand there isn't much information on it so I understand if someone doesn't get it but say that.
Not only did the doctor Dr.James annoy me but he writes me a prescription for a medication I have never had and when I asked about side effects he says every drug has a side effect. Ok that doesn't answer what I asked pertaining to what I have. He also scheduled me for a physiatrist which I also find insulting as I have zero mental problems and had I had one it would be in my chart or medical records. Then his second prescription was for physical therapy do to my spine problems. Imagine my frustration when I go into an OPEN room full of about 5 patients all in one space and am "measured" for a LIFTING brace! I asked for a scoliosis brace! That's so insulting! And it's disrespectful. And it's also humiliating! What happened to patient privacy? Actually what happened to respect for people not born the same as you. I think it's all rude. The women in the "physical therapy" were extremely nice but my medical problems are my business and I don't appreciate everyone watching me get fit for something I didn't even ask for.
I'm sure my insurance was billed for a full visit and that annoys me the most behind all of this. I'm so sick of these rude doctors. Instead of wasting two hours of my time a simple "I don't know" and dismissal would have been much better than that "visit".

Dr. Moghal is great!! He goes over everything with me in detail and has helped me with my pain. I am also a patient in the Physical therapy department and they have also been amazing with my treatment. Thank you Comprehensive centers for pain management.

Cancelled my Mother's morphine pump replacement twice with no explanation! They don't care if she is in screaming pain. They communicate very poorly between offices and with patients. They made an appointment for her morphine pump to be filled at the Coy Rd office then when she arrived for the visit they told her they do not refill pumps there.

They have you do certain things that seem annoying but it's there process.

If I could give a lower rating I wiuld. This place cares nothing about your pain or condition . Very rude staff and doctors. All about getting your money . Perscribe unnecessary therapy. My insurance company kicked one of their doctors off our network.DO NOT go to this so called clinic.

Dr Schwarz is excellent. very knowledgeable. he does require you to follow his orders to get the best treatment you need based on his evaluation. point blank, medication alone does not fix our pain or health issues. you may have to wait a tad bit longer than usual but worth the wait. then again some days much quicker than usual.

Drs said the Did not like patients in well to bad I came every day of my life

Dr. Escobar and Sandi CNP are amazing. They listen to you, they discuss my treatment plan with me and I never feel rushed. I also have PT services and have had great success with many issues. I suffered an incredibly painful case of plantar fascistic and Matt was able to fix me up before my vacation just as he said he would. Comprehensive Centers for Pain Management is the best in town.

Patient for last couple years, but something changed, doctors left the practice and attitudes behind the counter have turned sour.

Friendly staff and PT has done great with my cervical and shoulder pain. I returned for my ankle/achilles issues. Thanks for the great care!

Great place to go if you are in need of some of the most advanced pain management services. This is a multi-disciplinary approach type of pain management and they truly care about finding ways to improve your quality of life. I would recommend them to anyone I know.

Wow!!!!! I am looking for a doctor and was checking the reviews, I think I changed my mind on this office, I'm in alot of pain I couldn't handle being stressed out about my care, thanks for sharing

This place had been life changing for me, between the doctor, NP and physical therapist my life has improved drastically!! I have done cupping at physical therapy and I am getting the internal spinal stimulator surgery done later this month. My pain for the last 15 years has been a 7/8 and now because of treatment plan put into place it s now a livable 3/4! I can t thank them enough, the staff is always warm and wonderful, I can t recommend them enough.

I am 30 years old and have a significant slipped disk in my lower back. I previously was seen by a pain management doctor before moving to Toledo at that time I switched to Dr. Hefzy. In the six months I have been with Dr. Hefzy, I have been ignored, lied to, miscommunicated with, mistreated, etc. Their physical therapy department is a joke, I was only once seen by the PT Doctor, the rest of time was spent alone with no direction or with the staff that didn t like upper management & was vocal about disliking scheduling again little direction. During my brief appointments with Dr. Hefzy, he has been in a rush to leave the appointment & get on to the next appointment. During my 5-10 minutes with the good doctor I was talked over and my concerns disregarded. I had previously been prescribed low level low dose pain medication that was working for me. Dr. Hefzy suggested surgery because he didn t think medication was the correct path for me to be on. He disregarded my desire to NO peruse the surgery route. He then also suggested I get a new MIR, after paying to do so, he never went over the results. Furthermore, I was in the hospital with a bad back day when called for more information and assistants from the attending doctor he never responded. The office staff is rude & inflexible. They whole staff could benefit from a course in organizational communication. Overall, I am a healthy adult with mild pain, I am only on my prescription as far as pain management goes, I am very low maintenance. It is mind boggling to me how a doctor and his counterparts can offer such poor service to a patient like me. It begs the question the type of service and care more serious cases are receiving. If you take your health seriously and like to be cared for with compassion, customer service and support Comprehensive Centers For Pain Management isn t the place for you.

I moved from Michigan to ohio, so I needed to find a new pain management provider. This place is just another Family and Friends facility!! If you're not family or friends to any of the Doctor's or staff, they're gonna try to have you do physical therapy and shots, so they can bill the heck out of your insurance company. The therapist Roger's a joke, talks a good game like most psychologists do! Study's you like an animal and then hands down his "I'm the man attitude" on rather he feels you're high risk or not. They schedule your appointment, but make you wait on people (friends and family) without appointments! Then they have the administrator review your case and "get back to you"! Noones gotten back, they don't know how to run a facility let alone treat people! Another ghetto facility based on income and not care! Do not! I repeat do not mention mental health or past drug abuse. Most of their good reviews are written by staff and friends! Another example of pills for profit

My 89 year old husband got two injections. I had said as long as insurance covered them was ok. Doc said they would only schedule if insurance covered. Oh sure it covered the shot, but no one said anything about a facility fee. No even mentioned the first shot as they didn't know??? $200 each time tried to cancel then as doctor was 1 1/2 hours behind, oh no, if you do that it's a $200.00 cancellation fee. WHAT? They are rip off artists. My husband sat in a hospital gown freezing for over an hour. I did not know until after. He asked for a blanket and never got one.

Not sure if the one star rating is warranted, but regardless my issues couldn't be resolved by the options that were offered. The push seemed to be for nerve burn procedures that would require multiple ongoing visits, 4 every six months, indefinitely. Additionally, the focus was only for the referred issue. This is an overall health care short coming and those of us that suffer with undiagnosed pain issues really have no options. Health care providers are limited in scope and unwilling to provide help for these undiagnosed issue to help patients deal in the short term until a solution or cause is identified. I do understand the difficulty of my particular dilemma. I only provide this feedback in hopes that somewhere somehow a fix to the health care system can be found where individuals are automatically required to start with the least expensive option and take months, even years, working up to diagnostic procedure that could quickly identify or rule out the need for multiple visits to multiple doctors with no solutions. A good example would be that it wasn't until I saw multiple specialist that a gastroenterologist referred for a full spinal MRI and then that identified an unrelated issue that became the focus and all the other doctors quit looking for options to help with the primary pain issues. Sorry for the long winded poor review.

The staff was nice and welcoming. They made me feel comfortable and answered all my questions for me.

I have suffered with Chronic pain for over 35 years and suffer i did,
DR,Mogal and his people have changed my life so much for the better he is open minded Doctor and with the introduction of Coddel treatment im able to enjoy life with less opiate medication ,and i thank him and staff,,,,,,,,,

been a heartbreaking experience from the get-go; doctor didn't want to write prescriptions, so they did injections and rfa which were contradictory to my condition. after realizing their mistake and admitting they made my suffering worse; they did prescribe pills-low dose that actually did work in the beggining but not after a few months; had several problems since including a car accident, a fall, and other things that complicated my already painful situation, so i attempted to see the doctor since the nurse was short and rude to me and the physical theripists seemed to be making fun of my condition since i was still considered somewhat "young", and they never got the full explanation of why i was even suppose to do physical therapy. When i quit physical therapy and told the nurse that it hurt worse and choose to do it somewhere else other than their location; and with the tests at the new place-the new pt asked certain things to be considered before continuing anymore physical therapy because the insurance could investigate its usefulness and they didn't want it to be on their record. I recieved a letter a week latter saying the doctor will not see me for the next scheduled appointment-mind you, he didn't show up last time and made me see a nurse.

Seen Dr. Short and he was knowledgeable except you are treated as a child by the staff. I believe they had someone's child in high school make up thier policies. My husband had a heart attack as I was walking out the door to the doctors. The last thing on my mind was to call and tell them I won't be there in a half hour. When I called after everything was situated they told me no appointment for a month. I asked about getting my medication and they said you shouldn't have missed your appointment lol. How childish was that. We will penalize you for having a family emergency so you can go a month without your medicine. I couldn't believe this was even said so I talked to the nursing staff who actually said the same thing and said that Dr. Short who knew of what my husband was going through said the same thing. I couldn't believe this and no longer wish to see such a office or Doctor. Especially after I have sat in the office for over 3 hours just to get my medicine and I was on time for my visit but had to wait 15 mins for front desk to deal with other patients. So being on workers comp. I asked for a c9 to see another office and they refused to do this lmao. My managed care organization even called because she couldn't believe this and got the same answers. She laughed and said she has never talked to such people. I tried calling Dr. Hill who is physician of record and they refuse to return a call. So going back to my old pain management that was a little further away from my home. I haven't ever had childishness wih them. This city needs to grow up and put thier big panties on. Emergencies happen and childish ways were in high school. I'm 52 graduated 34 years ago so can't comprehend people in businesses acting in such a manner.

I have seen two doctors at this office and the one was worse than the other! The most unprofessional doctors I have ever come in contact
with! They tell you how it's gonna be and if you don't like it they tell you to
find another doctor! They DO NOT give a damn about you the patient! These doctors at this place should not have a license to practice! They
play God because of that license not help people!

Doctor and Staff are incredible!!! Would reccomend to any first time doctors and patients

Injured in the military and left with chronic back and neck pain. Dr. Gao performed Radiofrequency Ablation on my lower back and for the first time in years I have been mostly pain free. This has been life changing!

The employees are wonderful and the doctors keep up on the latest and greatest advanced therapies. The surgery center is very efficient, compliant and the staff is comforting and welcoming. Definitely the pain management experts!

Dr. Gao is amazing! He listens and responds to aliments and treats them accordingly. Polite and helpful staff. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

The doctor's really listen to their patients and examine the test results then work with the patient to come up with a plan to help fit your medical needs.Hands down they figured out what was wrong with my mothers back and now she has learned ways to do do every day activities. My mother Lonell said they gave her back her life and without them she would've still been in bed crying.

Dr Weiss is an awesome doctor. Not only does he listen to you, but he responds compassionately with the vast knowledge he has about chronic pain conditions. He will even refer you to a larger establishment if he feels you will benefit from a more advanced medical treatment not offered in his practice and/or the city of Toledo.
My care now consists of Dr Weiss as my local doctor who oversees my medication and any new treatment options available here as well as Dr Hayek at University Hospital in Cleveland for more advanced treatment of my medical condition call RSD/CRPS or Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy/Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.
This above condition is on the list of rare diseases and is listed at the MOST painful chronic pain syndrome known.

I had my first visit with Pain Management. Appointment time was kept. Staff was EXTREMELY pleasant and knowledgeable. I was kept informed 100% of the time. Care was excellent. Do not let old reviews influence you!

My experience was not great at all. In the beginning things were smooth, met someone named Patricia. She was so nice and listened to everything I said but after that first time everything went down hill fast.
Was told that someone would call me to schedule an appointment but nothing happened, waited 1 week. The following week I called and said I was calling to schedule an appointment but the lady on the phone said that's not how things work. I explained to her that I already had my 1st interview and was told someone would call but never did so I was calling. She seemed confused and put me on hold came back to me and said that they would call me back yet again, so I waited a few days but nothing so I called again.
I explained to a different lady everything that had already happened she apologized and said she would find out what was going on.
3 weeks and I got nothing! So I went somewhere else and they only took 2 weeks and kept me informed every step of the way.
Guess this place plays favorites?

With proof of what s going on with me the severe pain and Dr Lisa still cut my pain meds like she don t care. I m tired of hurting constantly and when I do take my two pills a day with nothing in between my pain level is of the charts so by the time I take a pain pill it don t work so I m just tired of being in pain it affects my Every Day Living.

It is thr responcibility for every pain Dr. To write pain pill prescriptions. Those that dont should be thaken to the edge of town and kicked in the ass and told to never show their face in our fare city again. It is for their cowardice in the face of the DEA that these people should no longer be able to call themselves Doctors. And a Doctor that has never taken the Hippocratic oath should not be allowed to practice medicine in this country!!

Great pain management services, offering a comprehensive approach offering so many options to help deal with pain. Friendly staff who care about their patients!

Front desk is always welcoming and smiling. Facility is very accommodating for all individuals. Physical Therapy is conveniently located in the same building. Doctors that really care about their patients needs.
