Had the opportunity to DJ a Wedding Reception in May of 2019. I loved the set-up! Cocktail hour was outside for the guests with a bar offered outside. When you walked into the hallway you were greeted by the welcoming table and seating chart, then when the ballroom doors opened you entered in to a wonderful room full of red and low lighted candles. The reception was a blast! We were there early watching the staff go over the details of the receptions (there were 2 that night at Toftrees). Needless to say they were friendly and helpful, the only bad thing I heard all night was they were almost out of spoons for the guests. haha - Laine (Awe Struck Entertainment)

All I know about is from the attached restaurant, The Fields Burger & Tap. Although the restaurant was fairly busy, the service was fantastic and the food was quickly delivered with appetizers and drinks coming out almost immediately. The staff was helpful, efficient and just generally pleasant. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere and decoration. The menu was excellent. They have a lot of substitutes for dietary restrictions, a great selection of drinks (alcohol and milkshakes) and just a generally solid menu. For such an inviting place with awesome service and food, I didn't expect that the prices to be as reasonable as they are.

Atmosphere was elegant & inviting. Catered food was well displayed and was delicious. The staff was very accommodating and professional. My filet was cooked perfectly as was the rest of the courses. I would highly recommend this place.

Recently, we visited the Field Burger and Tap at Toftrees resort. The food was outstanding to say the least. To my surprise we ordered an appetizer of french fries and they gave us a whole table full. The Black and bleu burger I had was glorious. The service was excellent and my favorite part was the industrial type atmosphere. 100% Recommend.

Toftrees looks nice but if you pay attention closer to the details it's starting to look run down. The gazebo is filled with wood rot, the plants are looking over grown, the balcony area has a lot of green moss in some areas with chipped finishes. I could go on and on as my job is to notice details. I'd be angry personally if I paid their higher prices to see a place not being fixed when issues arise.

The milkshakes at The Field are phenomenal. I always get the Salted Caranel pretzel which is the best milkshake I've ever had. I also highly recommend getting the crabby fries; get the table size if you're sharing amongst 3+ and you'll have more than enough for everyone with leftovers to take home. The burgers are also high quality and the delicious. The menu changes sometimes but the Lancaster burger always seems to be there and it is one of the best in State College. I can't recommend the Field enough!

Metal rods in mattress poke you when you sit on the bed. Mattresses are shot. Tried both beds. One was like sleeping on box springs, the other rolled you off the bed because it is old and slopes...never been flipped. The lobby is handicap accessible but not the rooms. No elevator in a 3 story motel. Very outdated. They got two stars for a friendly staff. Otherwise they would have got one. Some of the food was good but not impressed by any means. They should close the motel and just run the golf course. A Resort it is not!

Older resort. The rooms are a bit dated but were very clean. Noise wasn't bad at all. You could faintly hear the tv in the next room but much less than other hotels. No elevators and there are lots of steps within the hotel. Staff was very friendly. If you are a golfer this is the place for you. A bit out of the way as far as town but not bad. Couple of miles to Penn State.

While the burger I had was delicious, the wait was ridiculous. We called ahead of time asking if we could make a reservation as we had a party of 9, but they assured us no reservation wpuld be needed and there wouldn't be a wait. We sat in the lobby for almost 2 hours. Fortunately, they did redeem themselves with delicious food and a free bucket of fries.

Went out to dinner at The Field and it was great! I highly recommend the crab fries as they come with an amazing cheese sauce. The burgers and milkshakes here are huge and taste great as well. I left feeling very happy and full.
