Our family had a funeral this past weekend (Aug.31, 2019) in Gretna, VA.
While traveling to the cemetery on 29 south around 12:30 pm we saw a TMC truck pulled over on the shoulder with the driver standing on the step of the tractor with his hat over his heart and head bowed. This act of kindness and respect for our family has touched all of our hearts beyond what I can put into words. We would like to thank the driver for taking the time out of his day to pay respect for a God fearing man and his family. I sure hope he will see this and know he blessed many people and gave us hope for such a selfless act. May God bless you driver.

My experience was horrible, I am not sure about the others but they sent one guy home because he couldn't climb up a ladder with confidence. They are racist and discriminate against you if they dont like you. I am very well versed and keen and I carried myself with the utmost respect and i was sent home because i couldn't fit a hard hat because of my hair

TMC management is all talk and no show, Run from these guys as fast as you can.Trucks are govern even if new they are just as slow as any other truck on the highway. All drivers are measure by a common cord where only the management is in advantage, Even convincing fromer drivers inot the office and say others out there still have a voice. Or is that joke still going on? Glorifed JB HUNT-- drivers in black trucks

I have four years driving experience. I was owner op for two years and yet I was told I don't qualify when I filled out the application. After carefull consideration, you do not meet up to my standards.maybe they prefer graduates of truck school instead of true experienced drivers

This morning on eagles landing parkway around 8:15 am one of their trucks pulled out on me and almost caused a major accident. Luckily the car beside me saw him pulling out and she moved over as I moved over barley missing his front tire and bumper. There was a string of cars behind me so he cannot say he did not see me. I pulled over and the driver kept going rude driver probably did not want to get in trouble. This distracted semi driver needs to pay attention before he causes a serious accident. I hope the company suspends him. Thank God for defensive driving or I would be in the hospital right now.

All this one star review is because they didn't get the job and for wheeler's. I been with TMC over 8 month and I don't have any complaints. They care about there drivers and they send you home in time and making good money to. I highly recommend TMC but remember they can't hire every applicant.

TMC is a great place to work and a great place to learn how to flatbed. There are reviews here complaining about micromanagement, low pay, and bad home time. That has not been my experience at all.

I deliver on time (unless there's a major wreck or a mechanical failure) and no one has ever called to micromanage me. Ever.

Regarding pay, unlike other companies that promise great sums and fall short, I make exactly the range the recruiters gave me when I joined.

Home time can be a little short if you get home late Friday and leave out early Sunday but you can leave out Monday if you want, you just might make a little less money. The truck has to be moving to make money, it is what it is. If you accept that going into it, this shouldn't be an issue. If you want to be home every day maybe don't join an OTR trucking company. Try getting a job as an equipment operator somewhere local.

Yea the truck has to be clean and you might get fired for walking on the grass but my experience driving for TMC has proven to be more than a fair deal.

Worst transportation company.. They will put you in big trouble if you work with them.. They did not showed up at an appointment. I have incurred a big loss because of this company.. They don't even care their customers. They don't even deserve a single star....

Wow give your drivers time to sleep. Just passed one of your trucks on 23 south michigan that was all over the road. And almost hit a person trying to fix their car in the side of the road. Scared us to see that. Then the company hung up on me when i tried to call them about it.

Dangerous driver drove me off the road - deliberately refused to slow down (slightly) to let me and the car in front of me merge. We both had to emergency-stop to avoid a bridge abutment. VIN 7D654592 4/20/16 10:50 am, I87 SB near the TZ bridge.

Glorified Prime drivers who think they are awesome because they drive a shiny Peterbilt pulling a spread axle skateboard. Derated gutless 62 mile per hour trucks. I remember when they had all long hood Peterbilt 379's and it's a crying shame that someone would molest such a nice truck in order just to save a few dollars on fuel. I'd rather burn my CDL and flip burgers at McDonald's before I worked for this company. TMC is Swift version of flatbedding I truly feel sorry for anyone employed by these money hungry morons who give the trucking industry a bad name with these gutless slow E-Log trucks

Just a great company to work for, same BS as most trucking jobs, but TMC supports thier drivers. 3/4 of the bad reviews are from folks TMC didnt hire and 4 wheelers that dont understand how merging works. They wont hire just anyone.....thats what Western Express is there for.

They sound like a decent company until you actually speak with them. They'll promise you the sun and stars, then when you call them on it they'll stop speaking to you. Their gutless recruiter Dylan will even avoid your calls.

I've been reading these inputs on the negative side, if you get the truck number I know for a fact Safety has no problem straighting out that driver. On the application process if they don't want you probly cause you didn't mention something on your records. All together I've been working for TMC for almost two years I'm an owner operator. And when I came here I had about six years experience otr but none in flatbeds so I really didn't expect to start at the top but it didn't take me long to get there.

Haven't been with TMC long but they seem to genuinely care about the driver's, pay is great, and they understand that family comes first. So far I have no issues with the company, and you'd be hard pressed to find someone with anything negative to say about them.

One of their truck drivers ran us off of our lane today off 610 in Houston. He just stared at us and then he sped up to get in front of my car. As a owner of a hot shot company disappointed to see a bad truck driver behind the wheel we would had sued to the fullest because of his driving and behavior!! I URGE COMPANIES TO NOT DO BUSY WITH THIS TRUCKING COMPANY!!

Recruiting dept. is a joke/ incompetent. They lack in communication and professionalism. They don t return calls and they lead you to believe you re getting hired with the amount of information they require you to submit. Kyle from the recruiting dept, never kept the communication consistent and after almost 3 weeks of going back and forth and finally getting in touch he nonchalantly said the application was not accepted with no explanation. BE AWARE

We booked load with Taylor and they agreed to pay and sent rate con. 1 hour later, she called back and said supervisor wants to cancel because they can do $300 less than agreed amount. Supervisor does not care if my driver already drove 25 miles toward pick up. No TONU. DO not work with their brokers!

After leaving the dr today with my sick 1 yr old in the car one of their trucks came over into my lane pushing me off the road and almost hitting me, then had the audacity to flip me off as I drove past him after. His truck said J. K. Smith. I can t support any business with employees that are so careless.

I'm a veteran and called to talk to a recruiter to ask about the CDL program. The recruiter had no customer service skill and acted as if I was wasting his time. So much for always promoting TMC is military friendly, if I was the owner I would be highly embarrassed.

Poorly managed logistics/AZ. You are on the edge of getting fired the first 3 months if you don t sale which is impossible . You have to make 80 cold calls or more or the GM is on your tail constantly. New office high turnover no one will last there.

I enjoyed nearly being ran off the road by one of your trucks in a merge lane in New Bern NC. With traffic clearly visible in front of me your amazing driver felt it was necessary to begin passing me before the merge lane ended. Since a guy on a motorcycle will DIE if a flat bed runs him over, I slowed down as quick as I could so he could deliver his load 2.5 seconds sooner. I hope he enjoys the same experience one day. Hope I see him again as well.

If I could give zero stars I would. If you want to deal with drama and BS and be treated like a mule, then this is the greatest company to work for. Do your research before applying here, they will take full advantage of you. And weekends home are a lie, it's never a full weekend home. Hope this helps.

Bunch of thieves, last check they ll take everything including a skyrocketing amount for cleaning the truck . If you want to work for $10 an hour for a 70 hour weekday and bring home less than $1k a week, this is the place to go.

DO NOT WORK HERE! They could not care less than they barely do. Your voice your opinion and concerns and you are ignored and punished. They say family is important but it s all a front. The owner runs it like the military and expects you to fall in line and shut up. You would have better luck working for Swift than here

Terrible place to work for. No integrity very dishonest. I wished I had done more research about this company before accepting any job offer from them. They let me go for NO reason I was there 3 flipping days. I didn t need the employment I had a job. I wished I had stayed at. No training, the department wasn t even aware of my start date. Thank you for waisting my time TMC . I ve been getting some information and that is that TMC does this quite a bit. They re a joke!! And the recruiter is incompetent and the hiring manager has to look to others because she has no idea what is going on in her department.

You know I was looking at all the trucking companies that was out there and the one that caught my eye was TMC because they have nice clean trucks and they were Peterbilts and eveytime i would see one on the road it was sharp and they give you a choice if you would like to be paid mileage or percent of a load I thought you know that would be a good company to work for So looking at there website it says we accept school
Graduate so I go to a trucking school and get my CDL fill out a application
and never here back from them so I call and talk to a recruiter and he said
sorry they are not interesting in you so I ask can you tell me way not he said nope sorry, now I don't get It I have a clean driving record, never had no tickets, clean background , don't do drugs, worked for a company 28 years previous but not good enough to work for them so much for me thinking it was a good company to work for and the bad thing about this Is I am a hard worker and take a lot of pride in my work.

Bad company. Says averages 54 hrs a week home time. B.s. They will get you home on Friday night and expect you to leave Sunday morning. No pets allowed, no exception. Basically they care more about their leather seats then someone having a companion. Trucks only go 61mph. Basically the company draws you in with their pretty trucks then reveals the company is a Polished turd. Also the tarp pay is only $25. 120+ pound tarp. If you quit the you lose your last paycheck. Do not waste your time.

I have been with TMC for 6 months now and this us an awesome company to driver for. We get home every weekend and can run anytime we want. Life as a trucker has never been better.

Being at top pay shows your skill as a driver. Learning proper planning, driver skill behind the wheeltreating your customers with respect and not pushing your bad day off on them is one of the marks of a professional driver.

Yes there are a lot of ups and downs about trucking. 1 being away from you wife and your family. The key to this is to have a very supportive family. Ones that stand behind you and make it easier for you to be away from home. My wife is the biggest reason I am driving and it is because she lives what I do and understand that supporting my family is key. 2. Take the time to enjoy a place you stop. If you are out over the weekend. It gets you out of your truck and helps you to relax. Parking at a truck stop is the same everywhere. Go to the zoo, take a tour of the city, meet new people. We are paid tourist.

To close this out. I am sorry for those who have had a bad experience with the company. In the trucking world you have good and bad drivers. Working here day after day and eek after week. I TRY to always set an example of what a driver should be. I want to thank all of the old school drivers who taught me professional courtesy when I first started trucking in 2001 and 2002. If you all can learn from an old school driver about the customs and courtesy if being a driver.

BE SAFE IN THE ROADS DRIVERS!!

I worked here as a driver out of CDL school for a year and a half and have nothing but good things to say about this company. What stood out most was their professionalism, competency, and they were true to their word on everything. Training was top notch. I felt well equipped to handle any situation. Company lives and breathes safety. Fleet manager (shout out to Arnie) was outstanding. Probably one of the biggest contributors as to why I liked working here.

My only advice to TMC would be to keep adding a number of manual transmission trucks to the fleet each year and reward the drivers, especially veteran drivers who want them. The possibility of getting a manual transmission truck was a deciding factor in why I chose TMC and driving 11102 with the manual was a noteable reason why I enjoyed the day-to-day work.

To anyone considering working here, if you are willing to be professional and work hard, you can expect the same and earn great money along the way. I had to to leave because of a family situation. But based on my experience here, TMC would be a great company to be a part of long-term. Top to bottom, they are constantly striving towards that "Destination: Excellence".

Great company. Always professional deliveries on time and very courteous. Drivers are always willing to go the extra mile. I see a lot of negative reviews from people who know nothing about trucking. Don't let these crybabies sway you. This is a good company w good people.

TMC is a very tight and responsible transportation company. Safety and professionalism are cornerstones to this organization.
I was impressed with how well their drivers are taken care of by the company and the responsiveness of their drivers as a result.
I observed the TMC staff go out of their way multiple times to take care of each other to get the job done, most especially, to help drivers of other companies even though they could have went on their merry way.
Each load was secured with painstaking precision regardless of the clock ticking, ensuring the product was delivered without damage or any other issues.
Very impressed with this company and their employees!

Terrible company. Unprofessional. Insensitive. Recruiters lie about everything. Recruiter called my phone so many times for me to join their team. I was a little hesistant because it was short notice and I have a family. Recruiter called me Friday, told me everything was ready for me, so had to leave the next day to drive 24 hrs pick up 2 other trainees to start training Monday and that all of my paperwork was submitted. Promised me a nice relaxing work and training environment, I guess he could tell I was little nervous, saying that the hotel would have flat screen TVs, pool, food and beverages are included. Upon my arrival unbeknownst to me I had to share a room with another trainee, it was a small box tv, and still had to pay for my food which he told me was included in my training. But it s get worse! a week into my training they pulled me out saying my background didn t pass and sent me home which is 14 hrs away on a bus immediately no compassion, no apology no nothing. WASTE OF TIME! UNPROFESSIONAL! VERY INSENSITIVE ABOUT PEOPLE LIVES AND FAMILY.

While driving behind this vehicle yesterday something on it fell off and broke my windshield. Drove up and got pictures and immediately contacted the company to have driver pull over so we could figure out what happened. Company did not call back and when I called them back they told me they had the driver inspect the load and it's not possible. Called back today and had the same response that it's impossible for debris to be on their vehicle. Think twice about using them or working for them.

My Husband works for TMC. Going on 3 years. This company is great to be working for. Their is questionable things. But first the good.
The trucks are very well cleaned, the pay is good. They are Family oriented. Usually home every weekend. Unless you request to be working over a 2 week or a month. Better pay for those times. They do care for even the truckers family. Some staffing is nice and even worry about you or the family. The equipment is good quilaty. Even the trailers are usually good. Also they are all about safety and policies. Their is so many different types of Jobs in TMC not just trucking.
The bad:
Yes your governed to 62mph. I can see why its all about saftey. Never heard of TMC having a trucker with speeding or wrecks.
You have to tarp mostly all loads.
The inpections are a joke (Military style)
They run the company technically as Military style. Best be former Military

All in all their is more pros then their is cons.
Pay is on a percentage and points system.
They really do look out for family. Our son last year got really sick. Fighting for his life and they sent care packages and was even willing to have my husband home with pay. Honestly that there alone was a nicest thing, any mother could ask for. Thank you TMC

Had a mechanical mishap on the road. Brought my trailer in while I took my 10hr break. Got it back with a new hub, all new brakes, tires, and mudflaps all done before my break was up. As far as a place to work I've been here going on 7 years. Pretty straight forward and honest people. They do what it takes to keep drivers on the road and freight delivered on time.

I was lucky that I had some prior experience drivi...

I was lucky that I had some prior experience driving because the training program is not very good for newer drivers. Many of the instructors and trainers like to maintain an old-school military style instructing method complete with yelling and cursing. I actually can handle that except when they're wrong. In the military, it's not a big deal when a DI is wrong and is yelling at you to follow their order anyway. You just obey, even though you know the DI is wrong. When you're driving a semi-truck, you can't play the old-school military game and comply when the DI is wrong because it may cause someone to be killed or otherwise cause a wreck.

There are some bad apples there that need to be weeded out, but it seems that the malignance can be traced almost all the way to the top. Overall unhealthy work environment from top to bottom.

In conclusion, I would say that the military DI approach is a bad method for teaching someone to drive a Semi-truck, and you don't want to be stuck working for these people for any longer than necessary, unless you're fairly desperate and don't mind stooping low in a toxic work environment. Perhaps learning through a community college program would be better? I don't know.

One of the worst companies on the road. Truck 12647 cut me off on I 65 south and then as I casually try passing him on him highway he throws something at my car and hits rear door. Tmc hires some real winners need less to say I have reported him to the Indiana state troopers with photos of the driver and his truck amd trailer numbers.
