tina's place Review

Country breakfast is probably about 3k calories, big enough for the largest man, and only 10 bucks. Love this place. Biscuits and gravy are outrageously good.

My husband and I used to used to enjoy dropping into this neighborhood spot for weekend breakfast.Tried dinner once. It was horrible! The breakfast food good, portions generous - but nothing special. The ambiance casual chill, and the service friendly. In the past year, there has been a shift in the service level to abrupt, hurried, and sometimes rude. Tina's is now off our list. We used to run into other couples we know from the area. They have also stopped going for the same reason, staff making guests feel like an imposition and like getting a table is some golden ticket. Customer service refresher training and maybe an assigned hostess on weekends is in order. I think the Check Please feature inflated their sense of importance as a restaurant. We'll now see Tina's glancing across the street frim a different neighborhood restaurant with better, locally sourced fresh ingredient great food. But equally as important, where we feel welcome.

I'm glad that they've created an outdoor space during covid. It's a lovely setting, but one of the two servers has a terrible attitude. Combine that with the weak alcoholic drinks, and it's almost not even worth going.

An amazing family restaurant!! Great prices, for the portions and always delicious!! I've been coming here since I was a child when they were still in El Sobrante.

This place is the bomb took my mother inlaw out to eat the portions are huge the food is great the service is fast and the prices are great will definitly be coming back to eat If there is a wait its well worth it

The food is hearty in portion size, but sometimes they seem really busy and it takes a while to get the food. The staff is nice and friendly, and they serve alchohol, so I can't complain too much. Definitely a place for a more leisurely brunch/lunch.

Early bird gets the worm. The earlier the better as service is always good, and the people friendly. It just helps to be there early

Huge portions of good comfort food. I had the shrimp and grits. Delicious. Dress in layers as they seem to have no control over the A.C. Plenty of friendly waitstaff.

My wife and I went to Tina's for brunch she ordered a spinach wrap I ordered a hamburger medium well after 10 minutes my wife got her rap she finished eating it and I still had no hamburger in front of me I asked the waitress who was ignoring us where is my hamburger she says it takes a long time to cook a hamburger medium well she went and talked to Tina and then 5 minutes later brought a hamburger with fries and put it in front of me I took one bite and it was Bloody Raw I complained to the waitress and wanted to speak to the manager Tina came over and said I was no longer welcome in her restaurant do not come back disrespectful if you want good food go to Jennifer and Todd's on the damn road Cafe Soleil is way better their waitresses arnt tattooed all the way up their arms and neck like ghetto Tina crew

Best breakfast anywhere close to home. Small business that is doing well by making way better food than their competition.

Was my husband and I first time out for breakfast in a long time. We were served second to a table that ordered after us. My Potatoes looked old and my husband were freshly cooked with Onion and green bell pepper which I did not get on my large amount of old potatoes. My husband got a biscuit that was hard I could not get a fork through. Waited for a long time to get the bill we were sitting and dis not get checked on after served. The waitresses were very nice I hate to even complain but I feel like it was just a not so great experience sadly.

Service not great had to ask for all eating. Utensils. Too many waitress to man 1. Table and waitress did not have good tip for what to try she said on a good day the french toast might not be soggy. We were shocked by her comment not going back

Great Belgian waffles. Staff is friendly but grossly undertrained and the cooks are inconsistent. Twice we've been there for breakfast and the toast came long after we got the rest of the meal and the perfectly cooked eggs over easy and bacon got cold before the toast came the first time. I had to eat the grits or they would be inedible. They re-did the eggs (while the toast got cold) and the egg whites were raw.

The second time the toast came after the rest of the meal again and the eggs over easy had raw egg whites again and the bacon undercooked but the Belgian waffle was good. They redid the eggs over easy and it came back like a fried egg.

All three tables in our area were wobbly which indicates the staff doesn't care. How can you wipe down three tables and not know they are wobbly and not adjust the feet?

The customers are diverse and really seem to enjoy their meals. I ordered eggs over easy to test the skills of the kitchen and it was a massive fail. I would go back to try something else as the customers seem to enjoy other items but only if we happened to be in the area or really wanted a Belgian waffle as we drove from Concord to go there.

Best breakfast and dinner when you're not home but it makes you feel like you are

Cold eggs cold potatoes, only got half my breakfast had to ask 2 times for the other half . Dam waitress never came back someone else had to finish me up . Gave 2 stars because coffee was hot . Dont know but I think Tina needs to do some house cleaning.

Waitress was not on top of her game. Food was good though.

I had heard many good things about the place, so my gf and i decided to try it out. It was a long wait to start off with but is understandable. When we got, seated the waitress took a long time to even acknowledge us. When she finally came to take our order she was in a rush, did not look at us once and was just staring out of the window . since she was speeding through taking our order she didn't let me mention i wanted a side of toast and got really mad when i added it when she was done with the order. She told me she goes fast so i have to speak faster. It was a terrible experience and will not be back.

Came here this morning for breakfast and the food was amazing!! Not to mention huge portions. The service and waitress was great. I will definitely be back again!

Food is always good that's why it's always crowded. Wait is usually too long. There is a second section of the restaurant that was added but they are reluctant to open it for additional seating.

Awesome food & great atmosphere! Bartender makes a hot & mean bloody Mary. My very first time at Tina's Place, since I am from San Diego.

Food is only 2 stars at the most. I go all the time though because I'm in love with the crazy-hot Latina waitress who works there.

Got the soup and salad the soup was cold, it was chicken noodle soup, absolutely no chicken in it, came without any bread or crackers, I don't think I've ever went any place where I got soup without one or the other. The server did get my soup heated up. Said they were out of crackers.

My wife and I are in the area for vacation so I called to get specifics on whether or not they served breakfast on this day because after looking over the menu on their website it read Breakfast & Lunch (Specific days). A young lady answered the phone, I asked her if they were serving breakfast, she answer my question and IMMEDIATELY hang up when she finished her sentence. She answered me as if I was suppose to KNOW the answer to my own question.. I m from the south so hospitality and kindness is what I m use to. She could have simply asked Is there anything else I can help you with? which would ve taken her 2 seconds, got back to what she was doing.
Didn t even get to go and see what the place was like because of her being rude so damn the food. Customer service is everything.

It's going through pains and the crew doesn't as well as some restaurants. The food has it hit and Mises, but presentation is always on point.

Healthy servings, tasty, affordable. The big 3 we all desire at a restaurant.

Good food and service. The wait is always 30 minutes or more but it is worth it.

My favorite brunch spot in the east bay, highly recommend!

Great portions, excellent quality, and wonderful staff

Really good Eggs Benedict breakfasts. The waits can be long but you can use the NoWait app to reserve a place in line remotely.

It is a very rich place in their breakfasts, I went 3 years ago and now that I return, I went back to breakfast in the place.

Ordered my food had no seasoning on either item that I ordered. It was a takeout they didn t even have salt, pepper, napkin, fork, spoon, or ketchup. They don t use real eggs either. Worst breakfast ever a waist of money.

Average overall local spot for breakfast/brunch, but it could definitely be much better.

I ordered their chicken fried steak with hash browns. The portions are great; they give a heavy amount of hash browns. The price is not too bad compared to areas closer to the city where you'll probably pay $3-4 more of what you're ordering here. It usually satisfies and hits the spot!

I gave it a 3 instead of 4 because of its inconsistency.

The first time I ordered the chicken fried steak, it was AMAZING. Size of the steak was almost half the plate with crispy, well-seasoned batter and a heavy amount of gravy with chunks of ham in it. The hash browns were perfectly golden, and the egg was just how I asked for it, sunny side up. The second time ordering that same dish, it seemed like a newer cook had rushed it. The steak was smaller and overcooked, with a minimal amount of gravy, and the gravy was also different in texture. The hash browns were on the burnt side, and the egg (I asked for over easy this time) was overcooked so the yoke was not runny.

But I'll definitely be back eventually in search of that first chicken fried steak I ordered, or maybe something different. They have a wide variety on their menu.

The food was mediocre. I ordered the French toast with the banana on the side. I noticed something on the plate and I asked the waitress for another one. She stood and tried to convince me that I was not seeing anything. That is a first for me. Normally, the plate is taken away and a new one returned. I would not recommend this establishment.

The atmosphere is wonderful. The food is well prepared and lots of it! The staff are knowledgeable about the menu and how things are prepared. I understand that the weekends are very busy, but we went on a Wednesday and the wait was manageable. Tina's is worth driving from Vallejo to eat here.

Sometimes there is a wait, but it is definitely worth it. Everything is great and the price is great considering the portion.

Really great breakfast items all the way around the menu (although the french toast is the low light for me), staff that works HARD to get it to you, portion sizes are Ridiculously BIG, but let's be serious... the wait is usually atrocious. To mitigate that they started using an app that allows you to get in line before you arrive, check your place, and text you when it's your turn. Get there within 5 min or lose your place though. Instead of standing around looking at traffic, we went to the park a block away and let our daughter play.

Horrible service, cold food that made me sick almost instantly after leaving. Really Disappointed, it used to be my favorite breakfast spot.

Delicious food with terrible service. Missing food items missing condiments, no water ever offered and drink order never received after two requests. Server never checked in on us and was very blase about her errors.

Love the food, dont like you can't substitute anything on your plate, my plate came with red onions I asked for green onions instead they wanted to charge me for that. Now that just was crazy to me.

This place is always crowded for breakfast, but worth the wait!

I ordered cheesy sgrimp and grits and they gave me polenta instead. Didn't make a big deal about, i just gave it to my kids. Theor servings are huge tho.

Went to tinas for dinner with a party of three. Our salad and soup arrived before our drinks. 30 minutes after we ordered the daily special we still didn't have food. After watching the couple who came in a few minutes after us get their food which was the daily special as well we inquired again. We were then told our ticket got lost and our food would be ready in 10 more minutes. We then went and ate Chinese and got great service!

It was a very good breakfast will be coming here next time
