The service staff is excellent but the " shrimp grits" need some work. Three shrimp does not make for shrimp grits, who do you think you're fooling? At least call it grits with shrimp , that way its not false advertising. Grits being the main ingredient won't be as disappointing... Breakfast was delicious as long as you keep it simple and go omelette or regular eggs you'll be a happy camper.

My brother talked about how good the food was and how massive the portions are and he was right! I'd add that the environment was cozy and staff friendly. I had the shrimp and grits ! My friend had waffles which were delicious and so big it filled up the plate! When in this area that will be my go to!

In my opinion there are many levels of American breakfast as well as its different versions of fusion as American with Chinese or Mexican or other, but I could say that if you want to have a good American breakfast you should try the different dishes that are cooked here, it also has With a fairly clean, large and friendly environment, it is quiet and it seems that you do not want to leave, in a matter of their service it is usually good, but like everything in life occasionally their waiters are not so attentive or helpful because of the load of tables or so I think, but if I want a good breakfast accompanied by a good coffee and if that were not enough your very fresh fruit this place is for you and in a matter of prices they are accessible to the average of the area but a little higher than IHOP or Dennys but the quality far exceeds them in my opinion.

1st experience... 3 waitresses working in a very busy restaurant. Obviously short staffed, but the help performed well under stressful conditions with hungry people.

Food was good - I will be back.

We went twice. It was a good experience both times. The wait staff tho. The waitresses had such a good vibe. I couldn t find any offense with the food, both times with nice presentation. I was surprised Pinole had such an asset in dining pleasure. Can t wait to try the breakfast menu.

I have been to Tina's twice before today and was impressed with both the food and the service. I felt it was a great place for breakfast and worth the drive from Vallejo. I have recommended it to a number of people.
Not anymore. It is hard to believe this was the same restuarant. The service was worse than bad--it was almost non existent. We had to ask numerous times for items which would normally be brought automatically. I asked 5 times for cream for my coffee and was then brought milk. I also had to ask twice for a refill on my coffee. The biscuits we ordered with our breakfast came a considerable time after our breakfast was served. The biscuits were undercooked, the chicken fried steak was overcooked and the whole meal had an abundance of grease.
I doubt I will ever go back to Tina's even if this were just a bad day for them.

Tina s place has been my go to breakfast spot since I moved to Pinole (about 5 years). Their food is always great, friendly staff, not a long wait period, but just this past Saturday when I went I ordered grits eggs and bacon. Something I don t usually order I just wanted to be different. I took a few bites of my grits and as I was stirring I saw a DEAD ROACH in my grits. It was only half of the body of the roach but I know what a roach looks like it was brown and black and the legs were still attached. Before I could take a pic the wAiter grabbed my plate and took My food. They gave us free breakfast and drinks but the manager did not come out, they did not take my number to follow up with me or anything. I was beyond disgusted! I will not be returning because the way they handled the situation, it made it seem like this isn t the first time this has happened.

At entrance maybe the head waitress remained in her seat at the bar and asked. How many in party? Then pointed to our table. The party of two with blank stare ask is this how you provide service? The food arrived.. Pancake luke warm & bacon on one plate and on the other plate the potatoes was just warm. But that steak was really GOOD!!!!!!! Our waitress did well so a 4. The food was a 3. The other waitress a 0. Oh, it wasn't Rush hour either.

Terrible customer service. Tried to charge me $1 for lemons for my water. Equated it to a side of toast. If that's the case, charge me for salt & pepper, hot sauce, ketchup, and every other condiment. Never going back. Manager treated me worse than the server.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would.

Let me start off by saying we are huge foodies. We not only eat out regularly, but my family owns restaurants / bars on the east coast so I know the service industry pretty well.

The first time we went here for brunch, my chicken club came out completely raw. I am not exaggerating. The chicken barely had grille marks on it and was completely pink inside. It was sent back to the kitchen and a new one came out. It was just fine. Nothing I would go back for.

We decided to give this place one more try yesterday. It was an absolute disaster! Not only did we wait for 20+ minutes to be seated, despite there being multiple open tables, but we left without ever eating. Why? We placed our order with our waitress, who pulled out an old, crumpled receipt from her pocket and wrote our order on the back (everyone else was using iPads... why she was using an old receipt, I have no clue). Minutes later, we were told they had no orange juice. Apparently, it s squeezed in house but there was none left. I m going to go ahead and say the staff was too lazy to squeeze more. Then, we asked for straws. Which they also didn t have. Needless to say, we were striking out. But, we were hungry so we decided to stick around for our food.

BIG. MISTAKE.

Our waitress proceeds to disappear for 10+ minutes. We literally did not see her once. No one stopped to check on us. Nothing.

I finally spot her, ask where our food is and she says the kitchen never got our ticket. She was apparently on break and someone else was supposed to check on us. Basically, she was placing the blame on anyone else she could. Are you kidding me? The kitchen never got our ticket for an order we placed 25 minutes ago and you re just realizing this because you were on break? Who goes on break in the middle of a rush? She says she s going to put the order back in. Fine. But, wait for it... she pulls out another old, crumpled receipt and asks for us to tell her our order again! A complete joke. When we questioned her and whether or not she ever actually placed our order, she became frazzled. Didn t know how to handle the situation. Not apologetic. Completely unacceptable in the service industry.

While we were extremely hungry, we simply couldn t wait another 25 minutes in hopes our food would come out, especially when you have a waitress who is all over the place and doesn t know how to do her job. In addition, I don t feel comfortable supporting a business like this. They need to take a real hard look at the people working here and what they re actually doing. This place is poorly run and is going to dig itself into a hole if this is the service they are going to provide.

Oh, and the icing on the cake? I saw all the waitresses passing around a to-go cup and drinking out of it. I thought it was odd... until I saw one of them making a cocktail in said to-go cup behind the bar and then continued to pass it around. Maybe drinking on the job is allowed here (though it s not at any of my family s restaurants and bars because it only causes problems), but it s going to cause you to continue losing local customers.

We will not be returning. There are plenty other businesses I would rather support than this place.

I used to love Tina's place, it was my go to breakfast restaurant for a long time. Twice now it has been mediocre at best. The food took a long time to be served despite there only being a few guests not during peak hour. The french toast was not cooked all the way, strange flavor on bacon, uneven portion (some plates had full size, others about half) of dry scrambled eggs. The chicken fried steak had a cinnamon flavor to it, I suspect it was cooked on the same grill as the French toast and not cleaned properly. The hash browns were the only item that were consistently well prepared. I don't see myself coming back until they correct the food quality.

They tried to kill me.... That food is so good and they bring you so much. My tongue says yes, my stomach screams for mercy I thought I was going to explode. I will be coming back here for sure. It was a hard choice trying to find one thing on the menu... It all looked so good

Went there for brunch and got an omelette. Would go again because portions are very generous for the price. The omelette was stuffed with toppings. I recommend getting the hash browns and ask to make it extra crispy.

Today was our first time eat at this restaurant. I heard the name for a while. The interior looks friendly and comfortable. The wait was short even though it's noon on Sunday. We ordered two breakfast items. Mine was OK, everything was on the plate as expected. But my wife's omelette came within a minute after we placed the order?! It wasn't very warm either. It turned out it was the order they made mistake on the table behind us. They just took it out to served us!! The reason we found out was because we ordered hash brown but we got fried potatoes on it, and we remembered the waitress brought that back to the kitchen from the table behind us. If I didn't see that happen, I would have thought it's a place we can visit again. But now, we won't go there any more. The one star represents the foods they serve are average to eat.

I've been here twice and both times I've been given terrible service. The waitress that I was assigned this morning decided to call me rude because I mistakenly thought she knew how to do her job. Their food, the one time I was allowed sustenance, was unimpressive. I try to spend my money on small business before big chains but I'm now at IHOP instead of Tina's Place.

The food is plain without sauce or other flavor I like this because I can see what I am eating. There are comfortable chairs and there is seating by the window allowing you to see the sidewalks and the streets.
